Your POV:

Being tired of sitting on my ass all day I helped Lucy with the newcomers that were injured.

Markus walked over. "(Y/n) you know you shouldn't be working."

"Please Markus, I can't stand doing nothing when I know I could be out here doing something. It doesn't even hurt that bad. I took pain killers." I said trying to persuade him.

"Just be careful," He warned.

I got up and hugged him with my good arm. "Thank you," I said smiling.

"Of course," He said before kissing me. Suddenly he realized people were  looking he cleared his throat. "As you were," He said smiling as he left.

I bit my lip and continued with a heated face and a smile.

Helping is what I did all day and I was exhausted. My arm was sore. It was around 12:30am. Markus had just came back from outside. Where he spends his time thinking.  I laid down on my palette. Markus laid beside me after putting his coat down.

"How was your day?" He asked running his hand through my hair.

"Exhausting," I answered honestly. "But it felt good to help," I say with a sleepy smile.

He rubbed my chin. "Oh really?" He asked.

I nod. "Mhm,"

He kissed my nose.

"You're amazing," He said quietly.

"You're an inspiration to your people. You're special."

"Behind every good Man is an even better woman that supports him," He said smiling before kissing my lips. Then went in for another but it was more savoring than the last.  He placed his hand on my cheek. Bringing me into a deeper..much longer kiss. He climbed on top of me and kissed me more.

"Markus," I whispered breathlessly.

"Yes?" He said quietly before kissing my jawline and going down to my neck. Sending shivers down my spine.

"Do you know what you're doing?" I moaned.

"I have a every good idea of what I'm aiming for." He said taking off his shirt and kissing my lips again.

"Excuse me Markus," Rafael says causing Markus to pull away.

"Yes?" He said getting up then suddenly we heard bickering. Markus' head drops and he gets up.

"Maybe we should think about taking our personal sessions somewhere else," I say as he puts on his shirt.

"Agreed," He said kissing my forehead. "Try to sleep," He says before leaving. He grabbed his jacket on the way out.

I went to sleep.

Markus pov:

"We want justice Markus!" One of the androids said handing me the gun. I pointed the gun at the policemen who were completely at my mercy. Crying with their hands behind their hand.

"Please..don't," one of them begged.

They killed our people. Its only fair that they pay for the lives that they took.

But then I remembered what (Y/n) had told me.

"An eye for an eye and the world goes blind," I recite aloud but hear it in her voice.
I put the gun down by my side. "We won't punish a crime with another crime," I say handing another android the gun and walking away with my head down to avoid their judgmental gazes.

Your POV:

"You're so close to being free," I said to Markus with a smile.

"Because you helped me. When all this is over we're going to start a brand new life together, I'll get a job and we can live in a house by the water..get married and maybe..adopt kids," He said smiling.

"I'd...love that,"  I say smiling.

"Well how about we work on the marriage part now?" He said pulling out a ring and I began to cry tears of joy.

"Markus are you serious?"  I asked as he slipped the ring on my finger.

"It doesn't have to be soon but maybe in a year or two when you're ready." He said.

I kissed him as tears still went down my eyes.

There was a flash of light and suddenly.
I looked up I was outside in the snow .I heard.. Sirens? I turned around and  saw cops pointing guns at my head. I looked ahead of me and saw the red and blue blinding lights of a cop car. I was surrounded by dead androids. They were standing in front of the car. The cops pointing their gun at Markus.....

"I love you," He said with tears streaming down his face. He shut his eyes and they shot him in the back of the head and I watch as he went limp and the thirium tainted the pure white snow. I got up and ran to him.

"Markus!!!!!" I scream as I fall to his side. I pull him into my lap. "Markus, please respond to me." I cried. "No...no,no,no,no!!!" I screamed and  place my forehead to his and cried. My heart throbbed.

I shot up with tears in my eyes.

"(Y/n) you were having a nightmare," Rafael informed me.  "I had to wake you up,"

"Where's Markus?" I asked urgently as I wiped my eyes.

"He went to infiltrate the cyberlife stores a couple of minutes ago with a couple of other androids he said he would be back soon. When you can you should go back to sleep,"

"No," I say getting up. I wrap myself in my comforter and look over the rail. "I'm not moving until he gets back and if he does not get back in two hours I'm going to find him myself," I say.

"If I could breathe I would be sighing right about now," Rafael muttered as he walked away.

I impatiently waited for them to get back with a horrid fear that they may have been hurt plaguing my mind. An hour in I couldn't take it. I got dressed and walked downstairs.

"You said two hours," Rafael said.

"I changed my mind. I'm going now," I say stubbornly.

"Think about this rationally before you make irrational decisions," Rafael said.

Not even a second later the doors open and Markus came in with North at his side as always. Have nothing against her I always sensed she hated my guts for some reason.

But when I seen Markus I ran into his arms.

"(Y/n), What's wrong?"

"I was so scared that I had lost you all," I said with tears going down my face.

"Hey,Hey,Hey, We're here...we've lost a few...but we're OK. We're here. C'mon let's go upstairs to the room. " He cooed in my ear as he picked me up and carried me upstairs. Once inside he sat on our palette and held me. I held on with my one good arm.

"Rafael told me you had a bad dream. Tell me what it was about."

"They shot all of them. They had a gun at my head and they made me....they made me watch as they shot you. They killed you in front of me." I cried.

"Sssh its OK, we're here and we're safe." He told me. He laid down with me and soon I went back to sleep.

November 9th, 2038 12:30pm

"Has anyone seen Markus?" North asked.

"Yea last I checked he was in his usual spot," one of them answered.

"He's been out there for a while now. I'll go check on him,"

Oh hell no....

"It's OK North, he's fine. He just needs sometime alone," I say and she scowls at me.

"I wasn't talking to you,"

"I was just trying to advise what's best for him. There has been a lot going on recently and he just needs time to think that's all," I say gently. Though on the inside I was thinking of 30 different ways of how to get did of her without anyone suspecting it was me. 

She still looked at me like I was garbage.

I sighed with a smile and shook my head."You know what North I think that it's time for a talk that was long overdue. May I talk to you in private?" I asked.

She walked off and I followed. We soon found ourself a nice little secluded corner.

"I detect two things. You have feelings for Markus and you hate me because well- at this point its no secret that Markus and I are much closer than best friends." I admit.

"You are a lowly human. His interest in you will die sooner than you think then he will realize who he really loves."

"Oh dear, you're too much like a fangirl" I say laughing. "Because you are in love with what you see when he's out on the field. You're in love with the idea of him. You don't know him. His past, You don't know his story like I do. Because I lived it with him. We're...drawn to each other in a way that you may never understand honey."

"You're just using him. That's what you humans do,"

"Oh not all humans are the same the same goes for every species including Androids. But that aside listen women to women. I get it. He's bold,inspiring,brave,sacrificial and God so much more that I can't get into it. I get it. I'm a shallow human unworthy of Markus's perfection. But here's the news.Markus and I have been feeling each other for a long time. So Markus knows what he wants. Yknow what maybe in some parallel universe or a different earth maybe you were meant to be with him.  But in this timeline. He's mine and I'm his. Please respect that,"

"Humans are weak. You may be with him for now but he will need someone to come running to when you get old and gray," She said walking away.

I know time is my worst enemy. But I didn't let it get me down for now.

I went to Markus's spot he was hanging on the ledge but I wasn't too worried.

"I knew I'd find you here," I say he got up and continued staring at the sun.

"I needed to think," He admitted.

"I figured that too but everybody was worried," I took in the sight. "I like it out here. I see why you hideout here," I say as he walked off the ledge and sat done in a chair with his head down

"Androids from all over seeking freedom come to Jericho and there are more coming as we speak. The revolution is taking its course." I say smiling. I realized Markus was still thinking. "What's on your mind?" I ask.

"They all obey me, they follow without question.." He started. "-and that much power feels good....and scary at the same time," He confessed.

I sat in his lap. "I know it's a lot of responsibility. With every move everyone is looking up to you for the next move. It's a lot of pressure. But they wouldn't follow you without question If they didn't trust your judgement. You're doing all thne right things. You're on the right path Markus." I say before kissing his forehead. "It's scary for me too. Everything is changing so fast and it's scary. But I know for as long as you're alive there is always hope."

"Thank you,"

"No problem, I'll leave you to think a bit more," I say before leaving. When I went downstairs two androids were helping Simon in. I automatically went to help him.

"My legs," Simon said weakly.

I nodded. "You'll be OK Simon, I promise," I say gently.

I replace his legs and run a diagnostics test just in case there were other injuries. He was just fine luckily.

"I'm done," I say smiling.

"Thank you," He said.

"Just doing my job," I say with a smile. "Follow me I have a feeling someone is gonna wanna see you," He got up and followed me and just as Markus was coming out of his spot Simon walked up to him.

"I'll leave you two alone," I say walking off.

I was with Lucy helping with an urgent case. Brutally abused android. Its a miracle that it got here. The crazy thing us that it looked a lot like Vee and it got me.

It came to a point where I had realized that there are some androids I can't save. Like this one but I didn't want to believe it.

"(Y/n)," Lucy said.

"No," I said with tears in the brims of my eyes

"It's OK you've done your best," Lucy told me.

"No, I can save her,"

"She could be fixed but not right now, we can't afford to waste all our biocomponents," Lucy said.

I stopped and started crying. "She looks so much like her," I said quietly.

"You're referring to the one that calls you mother?" She asked. I nodded.

"I need a break, If Markus comes looking for me tell him got me please," I say walking off. I go outside and look over the city.

Markus's POV:

I went looking for (Y/n) before I left.

"She's taking a break." Lucy told me.

"Do you know where she is?"

"In her usual spot,"

I nodded and went outside.

She was sitting on the edge of the building.

"The girl...looked a hell of a lot like Vee...and it scares the shit out of me...that maybe..when I sent away she made the decision to stay."

I sat next to her. "You never did tell me what happened to Vee."

"Vee was deviant long before you were. I made her that way. I made it so it was easier for her to become one. Once I realized that you were becoming one I had to send her to Canada to be safe."

"How did my awakening alert you to get Vee to safety?" I asked confused.

She looked at me and gave me a weak smile. "It's a long story for another time.Just remind me to tell you when we have time."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"But that what's happening?" She asked getting up.

"We're about to go protest. I think them seeing a human with us might change things."

She let a small chuckle. "It's about time I get to see some action."

"You're on board?"

"100%, I'll go get on my clothes and we can get this show on the road." She said heading toward the exit. Before she could leave I grabbed her hand and pulled her into me and kissed her.

"Well that surely changed my mediocre mood." She said smiling.

I smiled. "Good,"

Your POV:

Markus's POV:
"Markus Josh,Simon and I are ready. Who are we waiting for?" North asked.

Just as she was speaking (Y/n) walked beside me.

"(Y/n) is on the scene baby," She says happily.

"Where did you have that?" I asked.

"Hidden amongst my many clothes and make up." She said smiling innocently.

"Hm, Let's go," I say.

"Why can't (y/n) stay back like she always does?" North asked.

"Because-" I started before (Y/n) chimed in.

"Because there was an open spot for the only human in the demonstration. I didn't see anybody else applying for the role so I decided to take it. I felt very qualified yknow?" She joked.

I could help but smile. "That was a very verbose explanation but yes. I'm bringing her to see if maybe if they spot a human with us it would change there minds." I say.

"They kill there own kind what makes you think one human makes a difference?" North said.

"Geez North, have hope, you're so mad at my kind. I want to give you a hug. Come on guys let's go we're wasting time and time is of the essence!" (Y/n) said walking towards the door and we all follow her.

"Wait!" We heard a voice say. We turned around and here comes Rafael.

"I'm joining you," He says.

"Sure, let's go now," I say and Rafael hurries to catch up to the group. We all take the bus with our hoods on. (Y/n) and Rafael were having a good time together and I felt... Angry? I guess. He's just always around her or ruin my time with her.  North must have noticed because she spoke up.

"Are you okay Markus? You seem preoccupied," She told me.

"It's not your place to worry. Focus on the mission OK?" I told her.

She nodded and it went silent again.

"I don't get it," She started.

"Don't get what?"

"How could you love a human?" She finished.

"Why do you hate them so much?" I answered with a question. "Besides the obvious."

"That's none of your business,"

"So why I love (Y/n) so much isn't your concern either," I finish.

We finally arrived at the mall.

"This is suicide..." North started. "We'll all be killed. Please,Markus..It's not too late to change your mind." North said.

"Um hello, that's what I, Human shield is for. Plus,we're going to get shot at either way." (Y/n) said.

"North you don't understand, We're finally gonna who we really are. This place will go down in history." Josh said.

"We'll be shot on the spot!" North exclaimed.

"That's a risk I'd willing to take if it means the freedom of our people," Josh said determined.

"Uh,pause." (Y/n) started. "Are we gonna ignore the fact that y'all just switch personalities?" She said looking between them awkwardly.

They all ignored her.

"Please Markus." North pleaded.

"They'll understand...We'll make them understand." I tell them. "This is the only way."

"So what do I do?" (Y/n) asked.

"You go ahead of us and wait once the group is formed. You slowly make you way to the front beside me. But keep your hood on," I instructed.

"Gotcha,Rafa come with me," she said and Rafael followed.

Why'd it have to be him?

Your POV:

We sat outside waiting for Markus to come out we made ourselves blend in which wasn't hard.

"Do you really think this'll work?" Rafael asked.

"I have high hopes that it will," I admit.

"I just don't want anyone to get hurt," Rafael said.

"That...is the only part I'm worried about. Rafa. When I make my way to the front with Markus I want you to stay in the back. I don't want you bodyguarding me."

"But-"

"No buts Rafa.  Just listen to me please."

He rolled his eyes. "Fine,"

Markus came out and converted a couple of androids. He looked around  and spotted me he nodded. I nodded back. He got an android to block off the street and as he began to summon the androids to join him in the march. I watch how majestic it was. A drone scanned the androids in the crowd.

"Alright it's showtime," I say falling into the crowd. I made sure Rafael stayed behind.

As we marched I slowly made my way to the front. I stayed behind Markus.

"Disperse!" An officer commanded. "Disperse immediately!" he commanded

We advanced but everybody raised there hands. I was caught off guard but did the same.

"Jesus fuckin' Christ," The officer said moving to the side.

"Freedom!" Everyone began to chant and I did they same.

Then "We are alive!" Afterwards it was "Equal Rights!!" "NO MORE SLAVERY!"

Then 5'o came around along with a helicopter.  Not to mention the riot team

"Ho-ly shii-taki mushrooms," I mutter.

Markus looked back at me. I gave him a small smile.

"We came here to demonstrate peacefully." Markus stated. "-and tell humans we are living beings. All we want is to live free." Markus said determined.

I can honestly see why North was falling for him. Seeing him that way was hot. So determined and dominant.

"Damn," I said smirking.

"What?" North says.

"I mean I loved him before of course but I get it now," I said smiling at her. She tried to resist but the corners of her lips turned a teeny small bit.

"This is an illegal gathering disperse immediately or we will open fire."

"Before you reveal the secret weapon  stand ground," I whisper.

"We're not looking for confrontation," Markus said. "We've done no harm...we have no intention of doing any. We're not leaving until we have secured our freedom,"

"I repeat this is an illegal gathering."

"Aaand it's my time to shine. Hope I don't die." I mutter. Markus stands aside.

"So when Androids do it's an illegal gathering! When our kind do it it's a peaceful protest!?" I yell fiercely.

"We are not the same android!" He yelled.

"Check again nimrod! I'm doctor (Y/n) former cyberlife employee I helped create the designs for some of these androids and personally designed some of them with my own two hands!!"

This seemingly shook them as the captain was getting Intel.

"Do I check out or no?!" I yell teasingly.

"Doctor what do you want? The captain yelled.

" I want all androids to be treated as equals and I'm not leaving until they have those rights secured!" I yell.

"This is an illegal gathering disperse immediately!"

"Or what? You'll shoot?"  I fell to the ground with my hands behind my head. "Shoot me!" I yell.

"Are you crazy?" Markus said.

"I think so," I whisper "We will stay here! Until changes are made and refuse to be move!!!" I yell. "Freedom!!" I yell.

"Freedom!" Androids repeat.

"Proceed." The captain said.

I looked at Markus who was smiling at me. He helped me up. "I wish I had a blanket." I muttered.

"Should we go back?" Markus asked.

"Are you crazy after I told that dude to shoot me? I'm not moving until we've atleast been out here for 30 minutes." I whisper.

We were not moved for 10 minutes until. We heard..metal? Behind us.

"What is that?" I questioned.

Suddenly we heard shooting.

"Run!" Markus yelled.
