[16] Progress
The next day....
Your POV:
Today we were launching our campaign.
Markus and I were very happy and excited of course but didn't really show it.
"Ready to go?" Markus asked.
"Always." I say smiling as he takes my hand and we walk out of the house. Once we were I'm the car I was making phone calls like crazy.
"I know this is a big moment you're more nervous about it than me." Markus chuckled.
"I just don't want anything bad to happen." I sigh.
"With ten percent of all proceeds from the festival going into the campaign. There is no way this will fail."
"I know but my kind...they are so unpredictable and unreliable sometimes it poses to be a problem." I sigh.
"Everything will be fine I promise." Markus said kissing my hand.
We arrived at the site to see everything being set up. Markus and I personally went around thanking everyone who had came.
Soon everything was set up and all the singers and rappers who had came to perform were there. People were filing in through security check. Kids were on the attractions and bouncy houses. People were laughing and having fun.We even had Radio Stations and News around. Everything seemed to be going just fine.
Markus and I were talking around networking. Even talking to the locals.
"May we have a moment of your time?" A radio show asked us.
"Of course!" I say smiling. Markus and I followed the lady to her set-up.
"We know you have a lot to do so we just wanna ask a couple of questions and you're free to go." She says.
"Okay." Markus says giving a small smile.
"Hi radio one listeners here we have the Markus and Dr.Kamski here with us right now! The founders of the Rights for All: Android Equality campaign!"
"Hello!" Markus and I say at the same time.
"How are you guys doing?" She asked.
"I'm honestly just very happy to see exactly how many people came out to support the cause. It is very heartwarming to see how many people support the cause." I say smiling.
"It really is we've been working very hard on trying to get the campaign up and running as well as this this festival." Markus adds on.
"What is up next for the campaign there are rumours but what can you officiate?" She asked holding the mic to us
"Nothing we just wanna keep the world guessing you know?" I say smiling.
"You can't even give us a hint?" She asked in a shock.
Markus and I looked at each other.
"Oooh a look! What does the look mean?" She questioned.
"A book may be in the works. So we don't have to keep telling our story instead you can read it yourself." Markus said.
"A book?!" The radio lady exclaimed.
I chuckled. "I mean yea possibly or we may consider making a documentary we have yet to decide which one is more effective. It's still in discussion." I say nodding.
"I personally think a lot of people would love a documentary." She commented.
"We'll keep that in mind." I say.
"One last question before I let you guys go. Once again it's speculation.... Is there actually a thing?" She questioned.
"Excuse me?" I questioned furrowing my eyebrows but still smiling.
"Yea like are you two really dating? Most people think it was a last minute plan Markus thought of to save yourselves."
"Seriously?" I questioned.
Markus put his arm around my waist. "I can assure everyone out there that this is not a facade. We love each other very much we just prefer to not show it as much in public specifically." Markus said.
I just kind of stood there forcing a smile because I am drastically irritated sigh the fact that people keep asking us that.
"Is this interview over?" Markus asked."I think Dr.Kamski might need to go sit down."
"Oh yes!" The interviewer said over enthusiastically.
Markus ushered me away from the tent.
"I know we get the question very often." Markus started.
"Too often Markus. We're doing incredible things and people are only focusing if we're in a real relationship. We are yes but can people focus on the bigger picture?" I bursted.
Markus wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me into him before kissing me very deeply and passionately. I subconsciously wrapped my arms around his neck.
"If I have to do that a thousand times everyday including today in front of a camera just to get the point across that we are a true couple I have no problem with that." He said after pulling away.
I smiled. "So um...if I asked you to do it again would you?"
Markus kissed me again. "Does that answer your question?"
I bit my lip smiling while nodding my head.
Markus gave me a smaller smirk.
When I looked around Markus and I were surrounded by people with cameras. I giggled while Markus started kissing my neck.
"Markus there are kids watching." I reminded him.
"I'm sure some of these kids have heard and seen there parents do worse." Markus joked.
I smiled. "It's sad how you are telling the truth." I say pulling away.
Soon the concert was gonna start so Markus and I went up onstage.
I grabbed a microphone and went up on stage Markus stayed offstage to watch.
"Hello everybody how are ya'll going this evening!?" I said excitedly into the mic and people cheered and whistled.
"We have some devine talent on the way to get you up and moving I know ya'll are excited for that but before we start I want to thank all of you for coming out to the launching of our new campaign Rights for All: Android Equality. 10% of all proceeds spent here go to the campaign but the campaign is online if you or someone you know wants to donate go to RFAAE.com/donate. No matter what amount you donate you can even donate a penny. All proceeds are going into projects to help androids get stable jobs and homes and other movements that'll promote equality for androids. Without further ado I would like to welcome our first act of the night Little Kimmy J!" I yell and everybody gets excited as I left stage.
Yet I inwardly frown because I have never even listened to her music so I don't know what to expect from these new singers and rappers. But she didn't sound too bad. It actually was a very deep song that hit home with everything that we stood for. Every rapper or singer sung or rapped spoke on the topic in hand and even called Markus and I heroes. Which shocked me immensely Markus I have always seen him as a hero but I just seen myself as a side character.
That aside all in all the festival was a massive success raising $857,638.38. That was just the festival alone on the website by the time we got home we had raised 625,589.50 and counting!!
"This is crazy!" I say laughing.
"I told you it would be success." Markus said with his hands on my waist.
"I was thinking a couple thousand maybe like 7,000 or so but we have 1 million dollars already!" I exclaimed.
"With an amazing woman like you failure is out of the question." He flirted as he stared deeply into my eyes. Sure his eyes couldn't dilate but when I looked into his eyes I seen another being. Another being capable of loving me in a way that in my experience no one of my own kind was capable of. I've always felt out of place in my own life. Everywhere I go I always felt like the odd one out. The only people I only ever really associated with was my family. But Markus made me feel like I fit in somewhere. Even if it isn't my own kind.
"I love you." I say against his lips.
"I love you too." He said kissing me sincerely.
"So what are our odds looking like at winning over congress?" I asked.
"We have won over 63% of the us population."
"Maybe I was thinking overzealously but I was hoping that we would hit 70 but its definitely progress a little over half of the population in just a couple of weeks." I say smiling. "We've came so far so fast." I sigh happily.
"We're definitely going to make it."
"Yea we are." I say smiling.
