Flappy Puzzles
I woke up the next day, stretching. Mikey had rolled on his other side, leaving me alone on my side. Not wanting to get up, I curled into his shell, trying to get comfortable again, but he rolled on top of me, still asleep.
"M-Mikey...!" I gasped in air, trying to breathe under his weight.
"Hmm....?" he said tiredly and with a smile. He looked at me and it took him a few seconds to register that I was under him. "Ah! Mikito!" he got off and I took gulps of air. "Are you okay?"
"Fine," I smiled. "I'm okay."
"Good," he grinned. He looked different without his mask. I smiled and hugged him, making him hug back. He paused and said, "Mikito?"
"Hmm?" I asked, looking at him.
Mikey's mischievous smile never worked out for him. He was too cute! But he took me by surprise when he kissed me. I couldn't help but kiss back. He pulled back quickly and said, "Good morning."
"Morning," I smiled and blushed at the same time. He grabbed our masks and handed mine to me. We put our masks on and got up and stretched again.
We walked out to the hallway, Naomi was stumbling out of Raph's room with a Melanie and Raph close behind. I think Sensei assigned Melanie a shared room with the two to make sure another and younger Melanie didn't happen.
Melanie had something in her hands. It looked like a box. I paid no heed and continued to the kitchen. Mikey had already went without me and started cooking breakfast.
I was bored and got on my T-Phone. None of my games entertained me so I decided to look up some popular picks. There was a game called "Flappy Bird". Interested because of how many people had it, I decided to download it.
The bird was pixelated and looked like a flying chicken nugget you would find at McDonalds. But it had eyes and practically sticks for wings. "Tap to fly" it said when I first started. So, I tapped the screen. The bird fell instantly and hit the ground. It died....
Slightly mad, I clicked the play triangle to the bottom. It brought me back to the beginning which said, "Tap to fly" so I did, and clicked repeatedly to make the bird fly up. Soon, there was a green tube like you would find on "Super Mario Bros" and before the bird could sink low enough, it hit the top of the opening of the two tubes.
"GAH!" I cried.
"What is it?" Mikey asked me. He was flipping the egg omelets over.
"This game..." I muttered, my cheek on the island while the phone was mocking me saying "Game Over" with a box with an empty circle to the left and a score and best to the right, both saying 0. I tried again. It took almost five times before I finally passed the first tube before a second tube came up and I died.
"NO!"
"Mikito, easy!" Leo said, walking in.
"What is the matter?" Sensei asked curiously, walking in.
I sit up and flail my phone in my hand. "This game is hard!" I hold it close to my face and start playing it again. "But rather addicting..."
Kyo and Natasha came in next and looked at me confused. They took their seats and Natasha laid her arms out in front of her on the island and sets her head on her arms, closing her eyes. I continued playing the game, finally reaching a high score of three.
A few minutes later, Naomi walked in, slightly annoyed by her appearance. Raph and Melanie were right behind her, blocking her way back into the main room. She saw my discomfort and came over. "What's your malfunction?"
"This game," I whined as I died right before the fourth tube. Naomi took one look then grabbed out her T-Phone and probably downloaded the game. She sat down as Sophie walked in, stretching. Donnie came in after, looking at everyone a little hurt.
Donnie took the first plate that was handed out and left the room without a word. Naomi was still glued to her T-Phone and Mikey put a plate in front of me just as I passed the fourth tube. He scared me, making me jump and die. I cried out then face desked in sadness.
"I'm sorry..!" Mikey looked hurt as he hugged me. "I didn't mean to..."
"It's okay," I smiled, leaning into him. "I needed to eat."
Melanie was sitting on Naomi's knee, watching her screen, amazed. I gritted my teeth and stood up. But Leo cleared his throat. "Eat, Mikito. You need it."
"Yeah," Raph smirked. "Before you start going nuts with that game again."
Naomi chuckled and I glared at him. I sighed, but ate what Mikey had given me anyway. He always gave me more to eat than anybody else. I was surprised that I haven't gained much weight.
"Blame training," Naomi interuptted my thoughts. I glared at her and Natasha chuckled. I groaned and started eating again. Suddenly, Naomi groaned, "Darn..."
"Well, you made a lot," Melanie grinned.
"More than Mikito," she smirked, looking straight at me.
I looked up, confused, "What?"
Naomi turned her T-Phone around and showed me her high score of... 132?!!! I gawked at her and she just laghed, "First time trying to game too."
"No way!" I cried.
Raph and Melanie nodded. "Yes way."
I growled and plonked my head down on my empty plate. Why does she have to be good at everything?!
"Actually, Mikito, not everything," Naomi answered my thoughts, making me look annoyed straight into the plate. I kept the expression as I looked up. She smiled. "I'm working on a puzzle."
"Puzzle?" I repeated, confused.
Naomi nodded and stood up. Melanie quickly sat on the island and glared at her. "Thanks for warning me."
"You shouldn't have to," Naomi said, leaving the kitchen. By now, everyone was eating. Naomi left without eating anything. Raph noticed and sighed, grabbing her plate and following.
"Go, Melanie," Splinter said, finishing his plate.
"But--!" Melanie started.
"I do not care if they have the door open, you will be with them."
Melanie sighed and got off the island, following, muttering, "Just because they're family...."
I looked at Mikey and he smiled. I smiled back and decided to follow Melanie. Sure enough, they were only in the main room, in a corner. And surprising a light corner. Naomi was leaned over the floor with pieces of a puzzle scattered everywhere with a box by her.
Sitting down by her, I looked at what she was doing. It was an animal puzzle. It was colorful. A golden dragon was curled along the top left corner while a white tiger was the same way on the bottom right. A mix of animals were in the middle; polar bear, lion, fox, wolf, cougar, cheetah, brown bear, and even a komodo dragon.
All of the four corners were connected to a couple pieces, but not enough. Nothing was really connected. Just scattered. There was even some inside pieces put together that she had put to the side. I smiled and started to point at two pieces I thought would go together.
"Don't even think about it," Naomi muttered without even looking at me. I lowered my hand then looked at Melanie. She smiled and looked behind me. A large pslash of water hit me in the shell and I blinked, wide-eyed.
On the other hand, Naomi turned and snarled, "MIKEY!!"
I turned around and I giggled. Mikey was smiling innocently. Raph groaned, trying to keep the water droplets away from the pieces of the puzzle. Running up, Naomi chased Mikey out, but not without making Kyoto fly out of the kitchen.
Kyoto looked shocked and got up, glaring at the kitchen, brushing self off and leaving for his room. I was still laughing before Raph's fist hit my shoulder. I paused. Melanie looked at him, shocked.
"You're gonna get it, Dad..." she muttered.
"RAPH!" a shout from the kitchen made me jump.
Raph turned and gulped. "I forgot!!!"
Hissing, Naomi came in the main room again, staff already in hand. I gulped but was relieved when Splinter came up behind her and suddenly made her fly across the room. She landed near the dojo, upside down, staff out of hand, rolling away. I started giggling again.
"Enough!" Splinter slammed his staff on the ground, glaring at us all. "It is time to train."
We all bowed and headed to the dojo. Naomi got up and brushed herself off, getting Kyoto and Donnie fro their seperate rooms. I sighed and entered the dojo. Hopefully today would be a good day....
