"Wake up, What I am going to do to these girls"

"Go away Mom" Deepti shouted in my ears.

I groaned

"I will go away one day and then you will remember your Mom" Kaki said still trying to wake us up.

Currently Deepti was sleeping with her right leg on me. I was at a corner of the bed. This was always the same. Me and Deepti have wierd sleeping positions.

Kaki kept muttering.

"These girls have no value, at their age I was married and had a kid of my own. Now, see they are still sleeping like kids. Even one of them is getting married. What will Vikram think now, he is sitting downstairs and this princess here is snoring. These girls have...."

"Whhaaaaaat" I shouted sitting upright "Vikram is here?"

"No he is at Taj Mahal, making pakodas for you. Obviously he is here. Your kaka told him to come today didn't he?"

Oh my God.

I groaned my face now in my palms.

"Deepti get up we need to get ready and go downstairs" I said slapping her butt.

"You go, he is here to see you not me"

"Get up, please I need you. I need your stupid plan. You told me you had a plan didn't you?" I was still slapping.

"Her plan is already downstairs working his magic" Kaki added smiling.

"Hey, what are you talking about"

"Come down then. I want both of you" Deepti groaned "downstairs within 10 minutes"

With this she went out shutting the door.

We entered the courtyard exactly 17 minutes later. Everybody were sitting on the chairs and couches and drinking tea. Vikram was sitting and chatting with Kaka. He was wearing a light blue shirt and black pant. He still didn't shave which made me happy. Besides him, his mother was sitting along with a middle aged women I didn't know.

Everybody's eyes were on us.

"I am sorry we are late, we were just.."

"Praying" Deepti added.

Vikram raised his eyebrows towards us. Behind him Shivam, Deepti's elder brother was doubling with laughter.

"That's a sign of a good girl" Vikram's mom came to me giving me a hug.

Everybody were confused from where did we know each other.

"Your niece is very beautiful" She said beaming to Harish Kaka and Kaki.

She directed me to sit between her and Vikram.

"This is my sister in law, Vedanti" She introduced me to the other lady. She smiled at me making me feel at ease.

Vikram now sat besides me but did not directly at me. He was checking out with the corner of his eye. I moved my leg a little to make myself comfortable but it touched Vikram's thigh.

A wave of electricity passed through me and it made me blush. I looked at him and saw him looking at me with wide eyes. Did he feel the same? I blushed again.

"Is it okay if I call Panditji(Priest) to decide the date of engagement and wedding" Kaka asked his mom.

"Where is her Grandmother? Shouldn't we wait for her?"

"Actually she is not well. She is taking rest" Seema Kaki answered.

She nodded smiling.

Not well my ass. She must be sitting in her room plotting ways to hurt me.

A person entered the courtyard wearing yellow and orange clothes. He was old with his white hair and everything. His face looked awful similar but couldn't place it.

I looked over at Deepti, she was trying to control her laughter. I looked at Kaka and Kaki, it was the same. Was I missing something here.

The Panditji sat down looking at me knowingly. Kaka placed some papers in his hands. Panditji removed some more papers from his bag.

After few minutes he said.

"Both of their horoscope states that they are a good match for each other. There is no problem for them to get enagaged within a week but"

"But what Panditji" Deepti asked trying to control her laughter.

"But they can't get married within these 6 months, its not good for them"

Vikram seemed to be angry by this, he stood up.

"Why?"

"If you get married now, your life will be in danger"

This scared everybody immediately. More than that it scared Vikram's mom and aunt.

"Panditji, give us a solution for it" Vikram's mom asked.

"Yes, we don't want our boy in danger" Vedanti aunty added.

"I will look for the solution, till then please continue with engagement" Panditji said.

"Vicky, listen to me. Wait for some days, we will find a solution" His mom told him.

"Fine"

"Rajini ji when do you want to do the engagement?" Harish kaka asked.

"One week from today is fine, till then both of them might get to know each other"

I looked at him and I blushed.

He jerked towards me and said,"You look cute when you blush"

He gave me his dimpled smile which I adored.

"I like it as well" I added.

"I hope I am the only one who makes you feel like this"

"You wish" I said teasing him.

He seemed to tense. I didn't know he would take my words seriously. I wanted to clarify that he was the only one but them his mom tackled me into a hug.

"Welcome to our family" She whispered into my ears.

I thanked her.

Vedanti aunty camr towards me and I was unsure how to act. She enveloped me in a hug and whispered,"Welcome to the family, but if you hurt my boy I will hurt you"

"Don't scare her Vedanti" His mom chuckled.

"Okay I am sorry"

"It's alright. I won't hurt him"

I told her with all sincerity.

Deepti came towards me.

"How was it?"

I was confused.

"What?"

"My plan idiot"

"What plan? It all happened because Panditji said so"

"Oh, Yeah then who convinced this Panditji to say what he said"

My mouth fell open.

"Deepti you bribed a Panditji. That's a sin maddo. Oh God please spare us"

"Oh drama queen, hold your horses. He was not even a real pandit. Don't tell me you didn't recognise him." Her mouth went wide.

"Who?"

"The fake pandit"

"Who was he?"

"He is going to be so pissed when he hears about this, that you didn't recognise him. Even my mom dad recognised him"

She left me alone with my thoughts. Who was he?

I was walking towards where everyone was. I couldn't spot Vikram anywhere. I wanted to clear things with him. But why did it affect him so much.

"Lila, will you bring some more sweets from the kitchen. These people are eating them like anything" Seema kaki said handing me the plate.

I chuckled and made my way towards the kitchen. I was still looking for Vikram but he was nowhere to be seen.

As I was turning someone pulled me and strandled me in a corner, putting all his weight on me. I panicked and before I could shout he placed his palm on my mouth and whispered.

"It's me"
