Introduction: The Academy?

Hey, my names Kanji, no last name. I'm currently 12 years old, and a girl. Right now I'm heading to an academy, but being more specific it's a ninja academy. Oh, I almost forgot. My twin brother Sanji is here with me too. He's the same age as me and height. You can say it's because were twins that were similar.

"Hey Sanji, do you think they'll like us?" I asked, nervousness lacing my voice.

I was nervous since I couldn't make friends very easily, I had troubles in the past... Sanji looked to be in thought so I stopped and waited for him.

Sanji turned to me with a smile and said, "Yes hopefully, but no worries I'll protect you."

I couldn't help but smile my brother, was always nice to me and really protective over me. I'm really glad I have him here for me. I couldn't ask for anyone better.

I noticed he stopped once again while I was in my thoughts, "Sanji, why did we stop?" I asked curiously.

Sanji was looking straight ahead. What's he looking at? Looking the direction my brother was facing, my eyes met with a gigantic gate with the leaf collage symbol engraved at the top. I gasped in awe. I've never seen anything so big like this before!

"Sanji, isn't this awesome?" I whispered, still in awe. I looked around, Sanji wasn't next to me, he was talking to some guards next to the village entrance.

"H-hey, wait up!" I yelled, running to my brother.

I stopped and glared at him. Baka, he leaves me behind to talk to two strangers. Rude much.. Then I noticed the two guards looking at me.

"Oh, uh, my apologies, my name is Kanji! It's nice to meet you two!" I exclaimed nervously as I rubbed my neck.

Sanji sighed. The two guards smiled at me.

"You don't need to apologize, and my name is Kotetsu Hagane. It's nice to meet you." Kotetsu replied with a closed eye smile.

I grinned, he seems nice which is something I can totally get use to. Glancing at the other male, he blushed right when I looked at him, wonder why?

"M-My name is Izumo Kamizuki, and can I ask you something?" Izumo asked nervously.

I continued to stare at him which made him blush even more. But hey, he wanted to ask me something. Why not, I had no problem with it.

I smiled and said, "Nice to meet you Izumo and yeah I don't mind."

He seemed to have trouble with the question he wanted to ask me. I got worried the longer he took.

But he finally spoke up, "Are you a girl or boy?"

All eyes were on me. I glanced over at Sanji. His eyes were filled with worry, I smiled at him slightly shaking my head. I wasn't taken back by the question, it's my fault really. I'm the one with short chin length hair, a hat on my head and wearing all black. Everything about me says BOY. So many people think I'm a boy but really I'm a girl. I'm used to it by now...getting called a boy and all.

"Haha! It's okay I get that question asked a lot, but your one of few people that gets to know the to know the truth. I'm a girl silly, just act and dress like a boy so I won't get bullied. Dont tell anyone okay? Im trusting you Izumo, Kotetsu." I said firmly.

I lied... I didn't want to but I have to. If they knew the REAL reason I dress like a boy... They would only pity me! I don't need anyones pity, it makes me feel weak for not being strong when everyone needed me to be. Sighing, I looked to confirm they won't tell. They nodded. I smiled. I think I'll get along well with these to just fine.

"Kanji, we have to go were going to be late!" Sanji yelled from a distance.

He likes leaving me behind doesn't he. I thought with a sweat drop.

"Okay, I'll be right there! Uh...well, guys I have to go, but I got a parting gift! If you want it, close your eyes dont open them." I said giggling.

I looked at Izumo he closed his eyes, I turned to Kotetsu he did the same. I walked over to Izumo got on my toes and kissed his right cheek causing him to turn dark red. I walked to Kotetsu kissed his left cheek making him smile.

"You guys can open your eyes now. So, did you like my gift?" I asked nervously, regret bubbling in the pit of my stomach.

I was scared they would say no and hate me, but from their reactions I think that's a yes. Kotetsu smiled so I'll take that as a yes. Izumo on the other hand was frozen in shock and his face was a cherry red. I smirked evilly. Time to tease him.

I walked to him and pouted, "You didn't like my parting gift?" I whimpered.

He seem to be out of his daze when I said that. He put his hands in front of him and he waved them back and forth.

"N-No, it's not like that! I mean I liked it! I mean thanks for the gift!" Izumo blurted out.

I laughed at how nervous he was, it was, um... Cute, yeah cute!

"Well bye Izu-kun, Tetsu-kun!" I yelled while waving and running off to my brother.

I ran off, I couldn't find Sanji though. I growled. Where are you Sanji!? While I wasn't paying attention and I bumped into someone falling on my butt. Groaning, I looked up and there was a man with bowl cut hair and a really tight green jump suit. One word. Intense.

"U-Uh, hi?" I said, well more like nervously.

"I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU AROUND, SO YOU MUST BE A NEW YOUTHFUL KID! I WILL TEACH YOU TO BE FULL OF YOUTH MY YOUTHLING! SOON YES VERY SOON YOU WILL BE WEARING A JUMP SUIT LIKE MINE, AND YOU? WILL BE YOUTHFUL." The creep yelled.

A anger mark grew on my forehead. I'm RIGHT in front of him and he yells so loud. Damn this guy is crazy! And what's with the jump suit, I think that's something a guy shouldn't be wearing. I then notice a hand coming towards me. Oh hell no. He's not touching me! However, it was too late... His hand was already on my shoulder. I growled angrily.

"Ew! DON'T TOUCH ME CREEP!" I yelled as I kicked him in his jewels.

He fell to his knees with his hands cupping his area. I scoffed and glared down at him. That's what you get. Now's my chance to run for my life. I tried running, but one of my legs were stuck. What now? I look down on my leg to see the creep holding on while crying and muttering incoherent words. Tsk, like I care. Kicking his arms off my leg, I jogged away.

Okay, this time I need to actually run for my life. On he count of there's, I run. I counted to three I'm my head and them when I hit three, I ran.

"Sanji, Sanji where are you!" I yelled with my hands cupped around my mouth.

I was starting to panic. It's been five minutes and I cant find Sanji anywhere! Then, I spotted someone who looked like him. Relief overcame me. Wait is that him? It sort of looks like him, but then again...it could be anyone. I might as well check.

I ran to this person who might luckly be Sanji. "Sanji?" I asked.

He turned around and I inwarely praised myself when it did turn out to be Sanji. I grinned, but it slowly turned into a grimace as I noticed the glare he was giving me. Oh crap... He looks mad.

"Kanji where were you?! I was worried sick! As a punishment you are to be tied up if front of our new class. Got it?" Sanji said sternly.

Aw man, why that of all things!? I was anime crying by now. I had to be tied up in front of everyone? Who wouldn't like that idea!

"F-Fine..." I pouted in utter defeat.

"MY YOUTHFUL STUDENT, I SEE YOU HAVE A SIBLING, NOW YOU BOTH CAN BE YOUTHFUL! COME HERE MY YOUTHFUL STUDENTS AND TRAIN WITH MY TEAM!" The creep from earlier yelled.

Me and Kanji sweat dropped. This guy was persistent, I got to hand him that.

"Forget the punishment for a moment. At the moment we need to run! Tie the rope around me at the academy." I said in a hurry.

I grabbed my brothers hand and ran for my...er OUR life.

"Kanji, it's straight ahead!" my brother yelled while stumbling.

I could see a building ahead of us. The bad thing was that the creep was catching up. Damn, he's quick! We need to get there faster, but that creep is fast as hell!

"Sanji jump on my back now if you want to live." I said seriously which is rare.

Sanji nodded and jumped on my back. Oh, wow. I'm so lucky he's light. I sped up the pace to 2x faster than before and we made it to the academy safely. I sighed in relief.

"Lets go inside," We said in unison. I was grinning the whole time. I can finally have a better life in this new village.

This was my chance at a new life.
