I'll Be Your Hero!

[ Song: Bleach OST - Soundscape to Ardor ]

Tomoyo's View

I ran away from the funeral sight, causing a collective amount of gasps and whispers to ring out throughout the crowd circling Hideki's casket. They were talking about me, saying how rude it was of me to be leaving at this moment. I bit my lip and hung my head as I ran. If only they knew what I was going through. If only they knew the things I went through. Then maybe they would accept my sudden departure from the funeral.

It wasn't my fault.

As tears fell from my purple eyes, I started to think about my current situation. Maybe, just maybe if I hadn't have killed Iada I would be okay. The Host Club would be talking to me. Everyone would be talking to me like normal. They wouldn't be treating me like they are now; like a monster. I choked back sobs and I stumbled while running, I fell to the ground. My knees scraped against the hard pavement and my arms stung.

Sitting up, I pulled my knees to my chest and cried my heart out while pulling at my hair every few seconds. "Why, why? What did Tomo do?!" I cried, wincing at the pain in my arms and knees.

I hugged my knees tightly, "Tomo did nothing wrong, she knows it... She did nothing. Tomo's a good girl..." I muttered under my breath, rocking back and forth while muttering those words over and over again.

I stayed in my current position and cried like that for a while, maybe for ten minutes or so. That was until the sound of footsteps reached my ears, I jumped in shock at the sudden sound. Someone's here! My first instinct was to get up and hide, and that's just what I did. I ran and hid behind some bushes, crouching down low so no one would see me. A group of people walked past the bushes I took shelter in for the time being. I watched them all walk by. The funeral must be over. They're most likely heading home now.

Then there they were, trailing at the end of the funeral line stood the Host Club members along with Miku and Ko. They were talking very loudly for being at a funeral. I clicked my tongue, and they thought I was the rude one here. Just looked at them... I watched them as they passed by me in their black clothing, seeming not to notice my presence in the bushes. Right as I was about to get out to show them a piece of my mind, someone had to say something very, very hurtful.

"I can't believe Tomoyo actually ran off midway during the funeral, she didn't even pay her respects towards Hideki! He died because of her, she could have at least went up to the podium and apologized for her damn mistakes!" Miku shouted, causing the Host Club to look at her in confusion, but some of them had those faces that clearly showed they agreed with her. "After all, she is the reason he's dead now! It's all her fault!"

My heart stung at those words; her speech. She... She really thought I was the problem here, they all did. I grimaced. I didn't mean to get him killed, I really didn't! It was his choice to come save me, to try and find me. I think the risks were pretty clear. I-I never asked for them to come and throw their lives away for me. Standing up, I glared at them through the bushes, my fists shaking in anger.

"I agree with Miku..." Haru-chan said, twiddling with her fingers.

Are you all going to side with Miku?

"Yeah, I agree with Haru-chan." Honey-nii stated boldly, stepping up with Miku and Haruhi.

Now that really hurt. It was my long lost brother saying that, the one I love and care deeply for.

"Nii-san...y-you betrayed me." I growled out, walking out from the bushes. "I hate you!"

Running away from the scene, I managed to get away unnoticed by any of the Hosts or the others. Not without having someone catch me leave, watching my blonde hair sway behind me as I ran away from the scene.

Again.

Kaoru's View

Hikaru looked at me from the corner of his eye as Tomoyo went running from the funeral sight. We all stared at her either in shock or disgust. My gaze was probably the first one, as for the others... They were a mixture of both.

"Look at how rude that child is, leaving a f-funeral like this!"

"Idiotic child!"

"She doesn't deserve to be here."

"I heard she killed him."

I bit on my tongue to keep from saying anything back. I really wanted to tell everyone here that she wasn't as bad as they thought she was. Tomoyo was a nice girl, but she just needs some help. From both her friends and family. But all we're really doing is making things worse for her seeing the current situations she's in. Tomoyo, she must really hate us now, all of us, even myself included. I've ben a horrible boyfriend, maybe ex by now. I tried my best to show her that I love her, yet not matter how hard I tried...I ended up making a bigger mess.

"Tomoyo..." I whispered, watching her leave sadly.

Hikaru elbowed me and glared at me, "You're still thinking about her?" He asked.

I nodded, "Yes, how am I not supposed to think of my girlfriend?!" I whispered back harshly.

He frowned, "I'm... I'm sorry, Kaoru. I don't like being so harsh to you, but you have to get the fact that you can't be with her anymore." He said, grabbing my shoulder. "She killed someone, Kaoru. She's a murderer."

I slapped Hikaru's hand off my shoulder as I backed away from him with a dark glare aimed at him, "How dare you call her that?! She's not what you think she is!" I hissed.

Hikaru clicked his tongue, "We'll talk after this funeral." He said, turning away from me.

I nodded and looked forward. Why is this all happening, to us; Tomoyo? Shaking my head, I listened to Hideki's mother finish her speech about how amazing her son was to her and their family. All the things she said, the things she did. I couldn't pay attention to it. Everything went out the other ear.

~*~

The Host Club along with Ko, Miku and I, walked away from the burial sight for Hideki; his funeral. We were just casually chatting with one another, as the rest of the people who came for the funeral were ahead of us, ready to head back home and relax. I had to admit we were talking a bit too loudly. We had many people staring at us in disgust.

"Kaoru."

I looked over at Hikaru. He was dragging behind he group so we could talk. "What, Hikaru?" I asked, slowing down until I was beside my brother.

He sighed, "You need to get over Tomoyo, she isn't the one...for you." He said.

I grumbled in annoyance, "Why are you trying to get her out of my life? She did nothing wrong, Hikaru!" I stated.

"She killed someone!" He retorted.

"She didn't mean to!" I spat.

Hikaru scoffed and shoved me to the side, "You know what? I'm not even going to try convincing you anymore... You're a lost cause." He said, walking on ahead with the group, "Just like her."

I winced at his words. Hikaru and I never really fought often, closer to never... Even those times when we fought, we never went to the extremes like now. This was something I've never experienced before. Hikaru and me had an actual argument, a real one.

"Dammit..." I mumbled, yanking at my hair softly. "What is going on? Am I really a lost cause..."

As I walked ahead in order to catch up with the rest of the Host Club, Miku spoke up and said something horrible.

I gawked at her. Confused as to why she was saying such things about the girl she used to hang out with during our time at the Host Club. Weren't they very close to being best friends? I know they had their ups and downs, but to say this about Tomoyo...

"I agree with Miku..." Haruhi said, twiddling with her fingers.

I gasped. Haruhi is even agreeing?! She was the one that Tomoyo looked up to!

"Yeah, I agree with Haru-chan." Honey-nii stated boldly, stepping up with Miku and Haruhi.

My mouth fell open. No... Impossible. Why in the world did Honey-senpai of all people agree? He's Tomoyo's older brother, the one she loved and cares for with all of her heart. This is just horrible. I glared at Honey-senpai and started walking closer to him.

"How could you say that...?" I drawled on, looking off to the side as I heard a slight sound.

My eyes widened as I spotted Tomoyo running away, her hair swaying behind her. This is my chance to make up for what I did. I can bring her back! I ignored the confused looks I received and began to run after Tomoyo as fast as I could.

Tomoyo!

I'm coming for you. Don't worry!

I'll save you from what you're going through!

I'll be your hero!
