A new life

"Teach? Like Edward Teach?" Pope asked wide eyed, the look on his face brought one to Lorelai. "The one and only, and Elizabeth, everyone always neglects her." She nods her head as she looked up at them from the chair she sat on.

Now all four were staring at her in shock and slight wonder. The nervousness creeping up the back of her neck as she turned her eyes away from them. "What you lot just gonna stare all day?" She managed to say cheekily as she laughed a bit.

"Sorry, I think we are all just shocked." Kie finally said with a bit of a laugh. "That's pretty cool."

"Pretty cool?" JJ looked at Kie before his ocean blue eyes locked back to Lorelai. "That is fucking awesome!" He laughed full heatedly as he stepped towards her. A smile crossed the pirate's face. "She's a pirate. Like a legit, full blooded pirate!" The blonde was definitely bouncy.

John B's focus was taken away from the girl, watching his friend move around the room before he came back to stand before the girl, placing both his hands on the arms of her chair. The dark haired boy taking notice of the slight uncomfortable look that crossed her face.

Pope seemed to notice as well. "JJ give her some space." The boy said with a small sigh, like he couldn't believe his friend's lack of personal space, but he wasn't shocked he know how JJ could be.

Sending a thankful look towards Pope as JJ took a step back, small as it was it was in fact a step. John B looked at the girl closely, sweat and dirt clung to her skin, her black hair tangled but still pulled back into a ponytail. "Umm..if you'd like you can use the shower, maybe change..you've been on the water for so long." He commented trying to be the best unexpected host he could be to the girl.

Her eyes lit up at the prospect of a nice shower. "That sounds amazing actually... umm thank you.' she smiled warmly at him. She got to her feet, wobbling a bit as she put her arms out to balance herself. Kie knew she had some clothes around there so she lead her inside. "Follow me." Even though they didn't need to the three boys trailed them.

Kie rummaged around till she sound a pair of shorts and she grabbed a shirt that JJ abandoned there and places them in the bathroom. She looked towards Lorelai trying not to roll her eyes at the boys watching her. "There you go." She smiled warmly at her. "Thank you. So so much." Lorelai flashed a smile as she walked into the room, closing the door behind her.

She turned on the water, placing her hand under the steady stream and let out a happy laugh at the warmth that soon followed the chilly water.

Kie joined the pouges back in the living room, all four sharing glances amongst each other. "What the hell? A direct descendant of Blackbeard?" Pope said with awe and shock still in his voice.

"Dressed like a pirate, talks like a pirate and has a pirate ship." JJ listed with a lopsided grin on his face. This all seemed surreal. "Did Blackbeard even have kids?" Kie asked as she looked at Pope. "Well yeah he would, statistically speaking." Pope said with a slight shrug.

Lorelai turned off the shower as she stepped out, drying off and starting to get dressed.

"What do you think she is doing here?" John B asked as he looked at the group she didn't seem any older then sixteen.

"Running." JJ replied confidently, all bounciness leaving him as he told the group that. Kie's eyes narrowed in confusing. "Running? What do you mean?"

"She has a..um she has a bruise. Around her eye." JJ noticed that, he felt like he would always notice when someone was hurt like he was, like some useless unfair superpower. The hurt being able to see the hurt, so damn ironic huh?

Lorelai opened the door, walking out of the bathroom when she froze, hearing them talking. "Should we call the police? Let someone know that she is her?" Kie asked as she glances between the boys. Lorelai didn't even wait to hear anything else as she moved fast but quietly towards the back door, slipping out unnoticed.

"No. Absolutely not, getting the police involved will only make things worse." JJ stated firmly as he stared at Kie. "The cops have never helped me. So what do you think they will do with a runaway who I'm sure doesn't have a passport?"

"Maybe they wi-" She started only to have JJ cut her off. "They won't help her Kie, trust me this one time. It's a lost cause." He said with a small sigh. His eyes cutting towards the bathroom, that's when he noticed the door was open. "Lorelai?" He called out as he moved forward.

Once he reached the door he looked inside, her clothes as well as those she changed into where gone and the back door was open. "Guys, she ran." JJ called towards the others. "Do you think she heard us?" Pope asked as he walked to JJ's side. "I would go with yeah she did."

"We should find her before someone else does plus she doesn't know her way." John B pointed out, he knew she would be safe but that didn't mean someone wouldn't call the cops at the seemingly lost girl, who would then contact her parents.

So with that the four set out to look for Kildare's newest unofficial addition. They piled up into the Twinkie.

Lorelai was fast as she moved down the street, leaving her old clothes hidden in a bush outside the Chateau so she could get them when she headed back for her ship but she would need supplies.

She was running down the street, ignoring any look she was given. Finally she reached a shop, walking in she tried to calm her breath. On occasion stealing glances at the rough looking man behind the counter.

Lorelai grabbed some chips and drinks before she walked back up to the counter. The man starting to ring it up, noticing her looking around nervously. "What's wrong girl?" He asked her, his eyes were soft. She looked back towards him, noticing pictures along the wall of him a woman and two young girls.

"Nothing.." she said softly as she turned her eyes down. "Come on, I can tell." He huffed a laugh as he bagged up her items.

"I don't know where to go from here, it's getting dark, I'm all alone without a soul in this world. I'm lost....." She finally said after a moment. Lorelai flinching when his hand came to rest on her shoulder, a sympathetic look on his face. "You're not lost yet. You look like a sailor, so all you have to do is follow your compass." He told her with a smile. "I don't have a compass." She informed him as she looked back towards him.

"Sure you do. You have to follow the compass that beats in your chest. It will guild you to the most important things. Besides I don't think you are alone." His eyes flickered towards the door where JJ was standing.

Lorelai looked over her shoulder and saw him, signing softly as he got to her side. "Hey man." He greeted. "What's up JJ." The man replied as Lorelai payed for her things. "Why are you here?" She asked,not looking at the blonde as she grabbed the bags, JJ snagging one to make sure she walked with him.

"Looking for you. Why did you run?" He returned the question, his eyes staying on her face as she shrugged her shoulders. "Running away is what I do, what I'm good at."

"I think, that you overhead something. I told them no by the way." He pushed the door open, holding it for her. Once outside he walked by her side. "No cops, no nothing. You can stay around as long as you like and we won't call anyone okay?" He tilted his head to the side.

Lorelai took a deep breath as she looked at him. "No cops?"
"No cops." He smiled at her. He offered his hand out to her which she did shake after a moment of thought. "Sooo why no cops?" He asked curiously, a faint smile crossing his face as he heard her breath out a puff of air in slight annoyance. "Because I do not want to be found. Do you always pry into people's lives?"

"Only the pretty ones." He replied back quickly with a flash id a wink. Lorelai just looked at him, not falling into his charms like most woman do. "You seem utterly impossible." She looked away to try and hide the small smile that crossed her face. "I think you mean utterly irresistible." He smirked as they walked together, he lead her towards the Twinkie. "Keep dreaming." She laughed which made him smile even more.
