Aaron was cleaning out his den, he brushed a pile of leaves aside. He'd been cleaning awhile now, he was nearly done. Dwindle had gone to play with her friend, she'd be home for lunch soon. Aaron walked from his den through the forest looking for berries. In particular he looked for Rawst berries: they were her favourite.

"Mr. Aaron!"

"Aaron! Mr. Aaron!"

Aaron's head turned towards the desperate cries. Two Pichu were running quickly towards him. They screeched to a halt and doubled over, panting rapidly. Aaron frowned.

"Ally. Ellie. Is something wrong?"

"Dwindle!" Ally shouted.

"Somethings wrong with Dwindle!" Ellie screamed.

"Where?"

The girls pointed back in the direction they'd come, and Aaron bolted away.

"Dwindle! Dwindle!" Aaron's ears swivelled rapidly as he searched for signs of his daughter. Hearing a faint crying in the distance, he raced towards the sound. As Aaron sprinted through the forest the scenery began to change; once green trees were burnt black and small patches of fire burned on the low grass.

As Jolteon got closer the crying sound got louder. Aaron burst through the bushes, before him a Pokémon was sobbing, it had a long dark blue body with a crème underbelly and short legs.

"Dwindle?"

Dwindle jumped backwards and crept away from him. "Dad... Dad what's wrong with me? Something happened and now I'm bigger and I can't control my fire and, and... I'm scared."

Aaron smiled softly, he walked forwards. Dwindle backed away.

"Please, don't come any closer. I don't want to hurt you."

Aaron chuckled. "Hurt me? Ha, your ole Da is a lot tougher than you think." He hugged his daughter.

Dwindle's tears doubled as she hugged her father tightly. "What's wrong with me?"

"Nothing at all," said Aaron. Breaking the hug, he pulled back and wiped the tears from her eyes. "Dwindle you've evolved is all, it's perfectly normal."

"Really?"

"Yeah. You're gonna be okay."

"Promise?"

"Hey, have I ever let you down?"

"Well... there was that one time when you wouldn't tell me where eggs come from."

Aaron blushed. "We do not speak of that."

"But-"

"Okay, get ready because I'm going to teach you to control your fire."

"How? You don't know anything about fire."

Aaron deadpanned. "Fire and Electricity are both elemental attacks: They have the same basic principles which requires you to control, channel and direct your powers."

"Uh..." Dwindle gave Aaron a confused look.

Aaron chuckled. "Okay, how's this sound. Lunch and rest first. Then training."

Dwindle nodded her agreement, the two started towards home. Quilava laughed inwardly as she walked beside her dad; her long body stretched further than his.

"Hey Dad... I'm bigger than you now." She teased.

Aaron grunted. "Good, means you can carry me around for a change."
