Chapter 12
Author and BEN_drowned note
Yes, BEN, your right. I have been slacking.
Called it.
Now, I apologize to readers who have to deal with my excuses.
Damn right.
Okay. On with the book.
And BEN.
Yeah?
HIPPITY HOPPITY, GET OFF OF MY PROPERTY-
~~~
Y/N
I ran downstairs as quietly as I could, while slipping my jacket on. I opened the door quietly and walked out into the chilly night air, and greeted BEN, who was impatiently tapping his foot and hovering a couple inches off the ground.
"Nice to meet another metaphysical wiseass." BEN says casually as we start walking down the street. I snorted, "In your case, metaphysical? Yes. Wiseass? Cut the wise out of wiseass. Let's see what you are then."
BEN frowned, but it was one of those frowns that usually hides a smile. I looked at my feet as we walked for a moment.
"What's the mansion like?" I ask quietly.
"Well, imagine living with a fifty plus mass murderers, in which most are crazed or just plain sadistic."
I commit teeny laugh.
"It's not funny." BEN says with fake misery. BEN zooms ahead of me, and turns around, that way he was floating backwards to face me.
"And I loved that stunt you pulled on Masky and Hoodie, that was probably the most interesting thing that happened to me in the last month!" BEN says, gesturing his arms.
I laugh, and we continue to make small talk.
It was a wiseass kind of small talk.
We approached the treeline, and BEN took me through a route I hadn't been through, turning left at the fifth traffic cone and weaving through trees. Once or twice BEN warned me of huge spider webs, and I was able to avoid them.
"You know in movies where the protagonist runs through an oak forest?" I ask.
"Yeah, what about it?" BEN replies, not facing me.
"It's a loud of boven de stercore." I say. BEN let out a laugh, and we continued to pass through the woods.
I eventually noticed that the treeline was coming to an end.
And then there was a clearing.
And then more trees about a half mile across. I looked around, the gears of my big boi brain stopping.
"Where is it?" I ask, gesturing to the clearing. BEN chuckled.
"Quid est occultatum revelare ad te deploide a bonus nox: et nemo potest levare quod obumbratio iustum." BEN says. He said a few more things of similar caliber, but I wasn't paying attention. I was focusing on what was happening to the field.
It was as if shadows flickered of a wall, to reveal the actual wall. It was crazy.
An entire mansion just appeared.
