It's actually nothing special. I think madaling araw na nung iniisip ko kung anong magandang username. And then I'm reminded of the years I spent doing things. . . well, half-baked. So para hindi ko na ulit gawin 'yon, I decided to put that at the forefront of my writing journey.

2. Gaano kahalaga sa iyo ang pagsusulat at bakit?

At the top of my head, my answer is quite simple: it's the only thing I know (okay, this is debatable) how to do and that I would enjoy doing in the long run. But beyond that, the most important benefit of it is that I get to write what I want to read.

3. Mayroon ka bang sariling akda na nais mong irekomenda sa mga hindi pa nakapagbabasa ng iyong gawa?

I haven't finished any narrative, though I have an on-going one. But I would recommend reading misled, as it is a mixture of epistolary and narrative. To date, I think it's still the work that I enjoyed writing the most and there wasn't any time that I felt uninspired while writing it.

4. Paano o ano ang nag-udyok sa iyo para magsimulang magsulat ng mga epistolary stories?

I wanted to write my own! Ang dami ko na kasing nabasa na epistolary over the years, and then ayun, gusto ko rin sumulat. Even though I love a good slow burn, I lean more on fast paced work, so siguro iyon ang isang motivator for writing epistolaries.

5. Maaari mo bang ibahagi sa amin ang iyong sariling 3 Do's & Don'ts sa pagsusulat ng epistolary?

Do's: First is definitely do your research kasi kahit hindi siya descriptive, you still need to put accurate information. Second, your blind spots should be able to tell something but not reveal everything. Third, keep it simple (I learned this the hard way!), pero isa sa mga challenges ng epistolary ay formatting, but for me, focus on the storytelling and not so much on the way it looks.

Don'ts: Fairly same as above, first don't put a lot of time on pictures, but rather, the storytelling. Second, don't underestimate how perceptive your readers are. And third, don't spoon feed your audience.

6. Paano mo napagsasabay ang pagsusulat at mga pinagkakaabalahan mo sa labas ng Wattpad?

I allot time for writing (almost) everyday. Minsan may mintis, but I'm still learning to discipline myself to follow a strict time table. And of course, I allow myself to rest when needed. You can't write if your brain is tired, so if I feel like I can't really type anything, I let myself rest.

7. Kung ikaw mismo ang manunulat sa kuwento ng iyong buhay, ano sa tingin mo ang titulo nito? At tungkol saan din kaya ito?

That's a tough question because I wouldn't want to know everything that's going to happen. But, it's probably going to be about my growth as a person over the years. I sometimes look back and marvel at how much I've changed in just a short amount of time.

8. Ano ang isang bagay na kaya mong isakripisyo para sa pagsusulat? At bakit?

Time. I can give all of my time when I'm writing, pero siguro hindi practical. Gusto ko rin mag-foster ng ibang hobby, but most of my free time goes to writing, so in a way, I am sacrificing that for writing.

9. Ano ang iyong pinakahindi makalilimutan na karanasan bilang isang manunulat?

When I first got 100K reads! Feeling ko nasa cloud nine ako habang nagka-countdown and it feels like I was validated. Lahat ng time and effort, worth it kapag may nag-e-enjoy sa story mo. Also, when I invited some Wattpad writers for the Write For A Cause project. Unforgettable rin na maka-trabaho sila and share the same sentiments when it comes to writing.

10. Saan mo nakikita ang sarili mo pagkalipas ng limang taon?

In terms of writing, probably still writing. I don't want to stop kahit minsan mahirap. And of course, gusto ko makapagpublish ng libro kung ready na ako by that time.

11. Ano ang iyong maipapayo sa mga bagong manunulat?

First is that the first step towards improvement is actually just writing. Kung wala kang naisulat, walang room for improvement. You actually have to write because there's no other way out. Second, you also have to learn to market your stories, and when I say market, I don't mean posting on every message board of other writers because that's disrespectful, but rather, use the wide range of social media tools to your advantage. Inspiration is everywhere. And third, everything you think that shouldn't matter does matter, whether it be reads or followers. So if you feel like you're lacking or close to giving up, let yourself feel—and then get up and write again.
