They were sitting in the changing room, laughing and joking like always. Yet, something felt amiss. Everything was the same yet it wasn't as Virat wasn't there. Virat wasn't there with them partaking in the jokes, spoiling the kids a little bit too much.

Virat wasn't there doing his crazy antics even Mahi bhai's presence in the dressing room couldn't fill the Virat size hole beating in their hearts. They have won the match against West Indies and they'll even win the series but it still didn't make him feel as good as it should have for there was a Virat size hole in all of their hearts.

Harry's smile and fake cheeriness wasn't doing them any good. Kulya was legitimately miserable without his Virat bhai. Bhuvi was heartbroken and so was Jassi and every other member of ICT. They were not just a team, they were a family the bonds stayed with them forever. They knew each other more than the whole world. They loved each other more than anything, even when they knowingly got under each other skins. They were a big family and which family didn't have its own drama and so, even their family has a lot of drama, craziness, and love.

And Virat broke it all. Virat broke it all betraying them on world cup like that. Virat broke their bond-breaking his promise and selling away their dreams. He wants to hate Virat like the whole country is, they want to hate and curse Virat for breaking them like this, for breaking their dreams and making them doubt each other, for making their bond so fragile, for breaking his promises. Rohit wants to hate Virat, he really wants to hate him with all his heart, wants to despise him and never see him again but a corner of his heart still loves him too much to hate him like that. A corner of his heart is still worried for his best friend, his brother in all but blood. A corner of his heart still ponders about what is he doing and how did he survived so long without contacting them. Well, he tried they didn't pick up the call too angry, too disappointed, too heartbroken and not at all in the condition to answer his call. So, they ignored his calls and didn't even attend his engagement ceremony making an excuse of unable to be there because of matches but in reality, they were just angry. Angry, at their Captain, their best friend, their brother, and motivator for letting them down in such a way.

Though, Kulya and Shubman had attended Virat's engagement unable to say no to his Virat bhai even when he was so angry on him. The rest of them didn't go, they didn't want to face him for they knew they'll say something that'll hurt all of them in the long run and ruin his day. They didn't see the pics, none of them did and neither Kulya tried to show them.

Rohit didn't know when he'll speak to Virat again or if he will ever speak to him again or not. He is his best friend, his totally crazy soul brother but his betrayal was so vast that Rohit didn't think he could ever forgive Virat. He didn't think anyone of them could ever forgive Virat, no not after what they faced in world cup final. But he didn't know why his heart was suddenly feeling so heavy and gloomy like something bad was happening, like something bad has happened with Virat and he didn't know why he was suddenly feeling very afraid for his bestie.

"Team, we have some news to share with you all." Rohit seriously didn't notice when the coach and whole supporting staff has entered the dressing room looking totally grim-faced like they were just about to announce the end of the world.

He didn't get up from his position, no, he didn't he was feeling too tired to get up and move towards them but others did. He watched as Jinks sat beside him and Mahi bhai stood beside Jinks. Harry, Kulya, Yuzi, Bhuvi, Shami, and Jassi grouped together near them and Jadu and Sikh sat on the floor looking at the coach with all their attention. Waiting to hear about the end of the world announcement.

"I'm very sorry to keep this from you all for so long but it was necessary. No one but the govt. Special force and ICC knows that Virat has actually been kidnapped by some very dangerous fixing organization before the match. He was rescued just before the match by special force officers..." The coach couldn't continue anymore as chaos erupted in the room.

"Why didn't you inform about anything" Jadu demanded sounding very angry and so was he, why weren't they informed that their brother was kidnapped by some notorious people.

"Why did you allow him to play?? Was he hurt badly," Mahi bhai demanded to know even the coolest captain losing his calm knowing his youngest brother has been kidnapped and then beared the burnt of lost world cup when it wasn't his fault. How was it his fault that he got kidnapped?? Was he very badly hurt?? Why didn't he say anything?? And as Rohit thought about that day Virat was really wincing too much, a pained expression on his face as he tried to hide his pain but failed miserably but he was too angry at that moment to clearly think about it at that time.

The coach shouted for all of us to shut up and let him answer their questions. Rohit listened with barely controlled temper and so did his brothers as they heard about what happened to their Captain, their Virat.

"Yes, Virat was hurt but he was stubborn. He wanted to play and They couldn't catch the culprit and as we lost the match. He got all the money and ran away. So, the special unit decided to take Virat's help in catching the master's mind. Virat was given rest so he could help with them and as the information couldn't leak as all of your life could also be in danger if you know about the whole matter. It was decided it will be best of Virat didn't tell you anything till the whole mess was sorted out, till they caught the mastermind and even Virat gets the time to heal his injuries." Rohit could feel his anger rising to the seventh heaven, hearing his coach words. Clearly, they made Virat look like a villain. They isolated him and let him fight this battle alone. They made them be afraid of their lives and their idiotic, self-sacrificial Captain went with the plan for the greater good. His idiotic best friend bore the burnt for him and they made him play even with his injuries. Yes, he knows how important cricket is for Virat, it's his life but can't they put some sense in his head. He is going to kill Virat for his this action. He is going to kill Virat for actually listening to them and not telling them what he was actually going through?? What kind of brother and best friend is he if he couldn't even be there for his best friend when he needed him the most.

"Why are you informing us about all this, now??" He heard Mahi bhai question coach an unusual hardness in his eyes as he waited for the coach to tell him the reason for this sudden revelation and even Rohit thought what made them reveal all this suddenly when Virat wasn't present there. Is Virat angry with their behavior?? Is he not coming here that's why to let his displeasure know and even Jinks was eerily silent beside him, looking at the coach for answers.

"Well, today the officers got a tip about the mastermind. He called Virat there and Virat went to help them. In the face-off, Virat was shot and he is serious. He is in the hospital right now but chances... Leave it, the news will be released in media soon. So, we thought it was better to inform you all before toh get to know about it all from the news." The coach finished looking at them with the same grim look and Rohit didn't know what to do?

He didn't know when he stood up with his fist clenched?? He didn't know why his breathing was suddenly heavy?? He didn't know why his heart was beating so rapidly and painfully in his chest. But he knew he would have punched the coach on his face if he said Virat couldn't survive. Virat will survive, he knows this. His best friend won't ever leave him alone like this. No, Virat is a fighter. He is a survivor and he will survive this time too. He will survive and then he'll scold him a lot for acting so stupid, for not telling them the truth, for getting engaged without them. He will scold him a lot for getting in such a situation for making him so scared for him.

But if he, no...Rohit didn't want to go down that lane. His Virat will be fine. He'll come back. He always does and Rohit knows that but what if he doesn't, his mind asked him and Rohit still didn't want to think about it. No, he didn't want to think about it. He didn't want to think that the last thing he told his best friend is "You're the biggest regret of my life. I wished I never became your friend, being your friend was a mistake.", No, Rohit absolutely can't let that happen Virat had to live, Virat had to come back to them. Virat had to survive and fight with him. He will even let him call him an idiot and make him yucky food but Virat needs to survive and they need to go to that bloody hospital, right now. Virat, hold on... I'm coming.
