The Plane
The picture is just so you can get an idea of how planes were back then.

"1:15pm flight to Tulsa, Oklahoma section A is now boarding!"
I sat up quickly from my comfortable position. Everyone that was in section "A" did the same. I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans. For some reason, I was getting real nervous. It's just a plane calm down I thought to myself.
The people were forming a line in front of this tunnel like thing. I shoved my way to a window and saw that the plane was at the end of the tunnel. Damn it was big. How can something so large possibly lift off the ground?
"Are you in line young man?"
I quickly turned around and saw a woman facing me. She had a real fancy looking outfit on, and a look of disgust on her face.
"Yeah I am," I said through gritted teeth. I absolutely hated people like her. Probably rich beyond belief and doing nothing except looking down on others.
She snorted and shook her head slightly. "Obviously not flying first class," she muttered to herself.
I glared at her, hard. "Yeah? Well I wouldn't want to anyway. Besides, you would probably take up most of the seats.
Her eyes widened in shock and she stood there stunned at what I just said. I couldn't help but grin and I swiftly went in front of her.
Shortly, I was face to face with the man who was allowing people onto the plane.
"Ticket please," he said.
I fished the ticket out from my pocket and handed it to him. He looked it over and then nodded.
"Have a safe flight," he said dismissively and carried on to the next person.
Ok this is it. Going on the plane. This is nothing, this isn't a big deal.
I stepped onto the plane. There was a long aisle and seats on either end. The first sections was huge. The seats were red and had plenty of space in between them. I stood in shock for awhile, but continued to make my way down when I realized there were people behind me.
My seat was pretty far and close to the back of the plane. Once I found it, I walked into the row and sat down. I was right next to a window, and there was one seat right next to me. Please have no one here. Please.
I sat back and stretched my aching legs. My feet were also hurting pretty bad from all that walking before.
Suddenly, I saw something out of the corner or my eye. Actually it was someone. There was a young man, he was probably in his mid 20s or something. He sat in the seat next to me and shoved a brief case under the seat in front of him.
"Hello," he said with a friendly smile.
I looked him up and down with a raised eyebrow, but didn't say anything. I've talked to enough people.
He stretched out his hand. "I'm Tim. Tim Carter."
"Congrats," I said while staring out the window.
He chuckled. "What's your name?"
Jesus Christ. "Why do you need to know?"
The man shrugged and his smile never faltered. "You're all by yourself?"
I was doing my best to contain myself and not slug him. "You're not from New York , are you?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Nope! I came here for a few weeks, just to look at the sights. The building are amazing. You see, I'm a photographer and I wanted to get some pictures. I'm going back home now to Oklahoma to see my family for the the holidays. What gave it away?"
"Here we mind our own damn business," I said.
Tim raised his eyebrows and adjusted his glasses. "Hm. I'll keep that in mind."
Hopefully he was done talking.
"We will now be taking off for Tulsa, Oklahoma. All passengers, make sure your belts are tightened."
I didn't even realize that there were seat belts. I grabbed the two straps and snapped them together.
After a few minutes, the plane lurched. I tightly gripped the arms rests and my knuckles began to turn white.
Tim laughed, "You've never been on a plane before have you?"
"What gave it away?"
He chuckled and I felt a smile tugging at my lips. It quickly disappeared however as the plane began to pick up speed. I swallowed heavily and closed my eyes as it went faster.
My stomach dropped as we made it into the air. I looked out the window as we left the ground. The plane was going at an angle towards the sky. Is it supposed to be like that? What if we crash?
I pushed these thoughts to the side and placed my hands over my ears.
"Ow..."
"Oh right. The pressure from the earth's atmosphere may cause pressure on your eardrum," Tim said.
I rolled my eyes. "English please."
"The change makes your ears pop."
I nodded as the pain slowly went away. I looked out the window again, and we were really high off the ground. Everything looked so small and it was kinda cool being above everything.
"So," Tim began. "How come your going to Oklahoma?"
I rubbed my forehead tiredly. "Family," I replied bluntly.
"I thought you said you were from here."
Shit. "I am. My uh Ma's side is in Oklahoma."
That was actually partially true. Ma said that I have cousin that lived close to Jay Mountain, not that I had ever met him.
"Well I sure am excited to get back home, "Tim said with a smile. "Every year my grandma makes this delicious chicken and gravy..."
Tim went on gushing about how is family spent Christmas. Like I give a shit.
I tuned him out and propped my elbow on the arm rest, with my head resting on my hand. I was absolutely exhausted and this Tim fellow sure was helping me fall asleep.
He began to talk about how he became a photographer and after a few minutes, I was out like a light.

Ok Tim was totally random and he may be kinda pointless, but I don't know I thought he was funny. Anyways, I'll try to get the next chapter up soon. Thank you so much for all the views, votes and comments, it really makes my day!
Oh btw if your an Outsiders fan you should check out Orange_Elephant . She has a book called "Random Outsiders Thingies," and it's absolutely amazing. It's really cool and I definitely recommend it.
