Okay, this is a book I've been wanting to write for a long time, since I was, like, 8. So, here goes.

Synopsis: 14 year old Princess Kayla has always felt cooped up in the palace. Her days are filled with tea parties and geography lessons and evening gowns. but behind her father's back, she's practicing with weapons. She's already proficient with bladed weapons, her favorites of which are Hon-Jarian broadswords and assassin daggers. One day, her father tells her something terrible: she's betrothed. And not long after, when she's visiting a friend's house, a servant gives her a letter from the palace: her father has been killed by the rebels. Her home and life now practically in ruins, she and her friends flee. But the rebels will not rest until the royal family is destroyed, and there is no one to claim the throne. Now on the run for her life, Kayla meets new friends, finds old ones, and finds herself caught in the midst of war.
