I sat upright and faced my mum who also sat in the same manner.

She had eyebags now... Wait!

Was she crying?

How come she didn't sob?

And on I was on her for that matter.

'Fine Mum. I'll go back to California by next week and...'

'Thank you Jesus'

Her cry was so soft and like a child.

  My mum behaves like a girl whenever she pray because she believes that Jesus is her father now that she have no parents.

  I love my mum. And anything stupid that wanna separate us is a bastard

I hugged my mum tight.

'I won't let you down'

'I know you won't' she mumbled and I withdrew from the hug.

  I stood up and walked to the door.

'I'll see you soon, mother'

  She nodded and I left.

'Have fun dear'

I left the house to my house. Everything is going to be alright Stacy. Everything.

 
Alex P.O.V

I searched all necessary documents to ensure the project is going on smoothly.

It's been two weeks since Stacy left California to Mexico.

  The guys have been acting distant towards the ladies under my orders.

  I really don't want to have anything to do with the Merits if their leader is not here.

  Everyone is at the sitting room now, the ladies are staring at no place in particular and the guys are relaxed on the couch.

  'Why the silence? I ask as I head down stairs.

Michael and Chloe looked at each other and back to me.

  'Hmm?'

'Nothing special'

'But there's something?'

They all stared at me and shook their heads.

'I'm sorry, Alex... It's all our fault that you guys are idle and what Stacy did...'

  Maria stopped talking when we all heard a car pulled up in front of the house.

  Zee stood up and looked through the window.

'Stacy?'

  Stacy. I jumped over a couch just to catch her sight.

She's Back?

SHE'S BACK!

Yes! I jumped like a boy happy to see his mum after a long time.

  Everyone stared at me but... I don't care. She's Back and that's all that matters!

  She opened the boot of her car and brought out her travel bag. Everyone sat on the couch acting like nothing happened.

  Knock... Knock

"Who is it?" Zee asked and Stacy didn't reply.

  I walked up to the door and opened it myself.

  She backed the house and stared at the sky. Her mouth moving with no sound coming out of it.

  "Stacy?"

She turned to face me slowly and we stared at each other for what seems like an eternity.

  "What are you doing here?"

"Is it better to talk outside or..."

She pointed her finger to signify inside the house and I adjusted for her to pass.

She rolled her travel bag into the house and all of them stared at her.

Each mouth opened as she she removed her shades.

Stacy's P.O.V

I saw him once again.

  He got a haircut.

I looked at each one of their faces to see surprise looks towards me and I gulped inaudibly before I started.

'Why'd you come back?'
I look up to face Maria as anger swell In me.

  I inhale and exhale deeply before I start.

  'Hi guys'

Shit! A mistake.

I really don't know how to approach them.

  'What happened?' Alex asked.

I sigh.

This is not going as I expected it to be.

'I'm sorry' I blurt out.

'What?' the concerned voice of alex whisper.

'I'm sorry, okay?... I left you guys in a shock and I do know what I faced from my mum when I went back there... But this isn't my mum's decision... It's mine...'

  They all glared at me except  Zee and Chloe.

I scrambled my pockets and brought it out.

'I signed us out of the championship singing competition of Mexico...'

I brought out another paper.

'I signed us up for California'

The girls mouths dropped open and saliva nearly tripped out.

  'To actually prove to you that I am sorry...'
I cleared my throat and averted their gaze.

'I bought us a house leading to New York but still in California... Not only for the Merits...'
I turned to face Alex.

'And also the New Boys'

Alex stared at me like i brought false news back.

I bent my head and faced the others.

'I am truly... Sorry' I conclude and waited patiently for their reply.

  'This is so... So touchy' Chloe said wiping tears off her eyes.

  Before anyone could say anything, Chloe and the rest of the girls came up to me and hugged me tight.

'I'm sorry... I won't do it again' I whispered.

Yes! I won!

  We all hugged with sobs of joy being together again.

When we finally let go, Alex spoke up.

  'Can we go outside?' I heard him whisper.

I nod and he led the way.

  We stop walking in the garden and I stared at the flowers.

'I'm sorry for all that happened' he whispered.

I gulped.

'I should be the one apologizing. I was suppose to be here for the girls and the New Boys' but I...'

'Whoa! Don't take it all on yourself Girly...' he said.

I kept quiet and he continued.

  'I am sorry that I never answered you when you asked a question...'

'It's not your fault'

He looked at me with raised brows.

'The memories' I said and he nodded.

'So... How was your trip back?'

  Alex P.O.V

She smiled at me and touched the flowers and hid behind the flowers?...

'Boring. As all plane trips should be'

I smiled at her.

'Follow me'

I led her and she followed behind me.

Stacy P.O.V

His smile took me off guard.

He led me to a dark room behind the door and locked it when we both were in.

'It's high time I told you something, Stacy'

Oh God!...

'Ever since I met you... Things changed. The Boys... My life... Career...'

He looked up at me.

'I changed'

My expression changed instantly...

After all the memories...

'I love you, Stacy. I really do'

For a minute, his eyes changed. He got grey eyes? How come?

'What about you?'

I smiled in admidst tears.

'I... I love you to, yes!'

A smile broke on his lips as he got hold of my waist and twirl me around.

I laughed and the same for him.

'Thank... Mmmph!'

He crashed his lips on mine still holding me tight.

I never want to leave him. I want to be his all the days of my life!

   He withdrew and we stared at each other.

Smiles upon us as a smile broke on my lips towards him.

   'Thank you' he whispered and I smile.

                Conclusion

A year later...

  Stacy and Alex are both graduated and both are working now.

'Hey!' Stacy said as she slides on the seat in the restaurant opposite Alex.

'You back?' Alex asked as he placed his phone in his pocket.

'Yeah. Got your message, something's wrong?'

'No... Not at all. Why?'

'We're the only people in this restaurant' Stacy said and they looked around.

  From nowhere, a lady came from behind Stacy to Alex.

'You could have told me you're dating someone else!' the lady screamed and splashed juice on Alex.

Stacy was shocked.

The lady walked away into the darkness outside through the back door and a waitress came over to assist Alex.

  'How-How could you?' she asked her voice shaky with tears.

   Alex was too wet to reply.

A waiter led him off.

'I'm sorry madam for what just happened. Do you mind paying?'

  Stacy buried her forehead in her right palm as she rumaged through her purse for the money.

'How much?' she asked.

'$100'

Stacy gave her $500.

'Keep the change' she whispered and the waitress thanked her.

'Do you want to leave?'

Stacy gulped in, nearly choking.

'Yes please'

The waitress led Stacy out through the back door and she was surprised...

  'Hello Stacy!!!!' People yelled.

There was almost a thousand people outside.

  The Guys and my Girls were there.

  'Oh my God! What's happening?'

Chloe and the rest smiled and made way.

  Alex... Oh my God ...

He changed to a yellow suit and an orange tie.

  Everyone watched intensely as he walked up to Stacy.

  When he got to her front, he stopped.

'Stacy... From the first time met you. I felt something...' he started.

'I felt change... Pass through my veins for you...'

Stacy leaned to the wall and stared at him.

'The New Boys changed because of the Merits, Stacy...'

He stared into her eyes desperately.

'I changed because of you' he whispered.

'I love you, Stacy'

    He took a step forward, grabbed stacy's right hand and slide a ring into her index finger.

  He then knelt on one knee still staring earnestly at Stacy.

"Will you marry me, Stacy?"

Stacy behaved like it was all a dream.

'Yes.... Yes I will!' she exclaimed and hugged Alex, forgetting the ring.

  The yard exploded with shouts of joy as the couple hugged each other tight.

'It was a plan work?' Stacy asked.

'Yeah. I wanted to see you sad for the last time before... All your life will be happiness' Alex yelled cause they were too much shouts. The people wanted to celebrate with them.

Stacy caught sight of her mum in the crowd and she withdrew from Alex to her mum.

'Mum!' she hugged her tight.

'How do you know?' she asked.

'Seems you've forgotten you got a sister' Zee said from behind and hugged Stacy.

'Congrats!' she said and they all hugged Including thier mum.

  Stacy and Alex were celebrated and everything changed in her life.

  As she greeted her friends, Alex dragged by the elbow and pulled her into a kiss.

   The warmth of his breath spread throughout her body almost making her feel uneasy but it persisted.

     As her eyes opened to look at Alex who is enjoying it, he looks content and not ever ready to lose Stacy.

But then he withdrew and stared deeply at her with love in his eyes.

'I love you' Alex said.

'I love you too, Alex'

When Love Is Within Sight, Don't Act Like You Know Best.

  Some Lovers May Not Be Destined To Be Together Yet They Still Love Each Other, While Some Might.

Never Judge Your Lover By The Past Or The Present But Sympathize With Him/Her When The Person Is Not So Lucky.
