The Holy Spirit is our Guide
The Holy Spirit is our guide
John 16 (NKJV)
¹³ However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
¹⁴ He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
To be guided by the Holy Spirit is to be led by Him. The Holy Spirit was given to us for guidance.
Where there is no guidance, there is destruction. That's why we need the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit can guide us into choosing the right partners. The Holy Spirit can guide us into choosing the right church. The Holy Spirit can guide us into choosing the right friends.
He guides. And He guides us into all truth. He shows us what is true and what is not.
Let's look at just two people in the bible who were guided by the Holy Spirit.
a) Agabus
-Acts 11 (NKJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
²⁷ And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.
²⁸ Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
The bible tells us that this man Agabus was guided by the Holy Spirit. And in being led by the Holy Spirit, he was able to communicate what the Spirit signified.
Then we read, "There was going to be a great famine." The Holy Spirit led Agabus. And in doing so, something was done about the situation.
"Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea."
— Acts 11:29 (NKJV)
After the Holy Spirit guided Agabus, something was done about the famine.
b) Paul
Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.
Acts 16:6-7 NKJV
Paul and his companions were guided by the Holy Spirit not to preach the word of God in a particular region. When the Holy Spirit guides us in such specific ways, we should be sensitive enough to hear Him.
There is always something that the Holy Spirit wants us to communicate to our spirits. We are never without hope. We are never without a solution, because The Holy Spirit is a special person. And He always wants to guide us.
-For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8:14 NKJV
Our willingness to yield is what makes us children of God. And in being yielded to the unction of the Holy Spirit, our Sonship (right as children) becomes more evident!
In the name of Jesus Christ, Everlasting Father we acknowledge you. We thank you. Lord, we yield our minds, our souls and bodies to you. Use us as vessels. Lead us in every area of our lives, especially areas where we are not completely yielded. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen
