What does it mean to know someone? What does it involve? What do we do if we want to know someone? The first place to start from is communication. The more we speak to Jesus and fellowship with Him in prayer and through His word, we'll understand Him better.

 
What does this mean? We should seek opportunities to know Jesus more and more. Another question would be :How can we know someone we have never met? In the natural, usually we reserve ourselves from people we have never met before. Because we don't know them right? 
 

Our love for God and Christ is something that grows as we interact with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes the relationship real.

 We experience His love

Ephesians 3:17 (TLB)
[17]And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love;

Here's what we get from this scripture. When we are deeply rooted in Christ, only then can we experience His love. This is something personal we all have to do. Even in plants, the leaves cannot receive any nutrients if the plant has no root.

-"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. - John 15:5 NKJV

Jesus is the vine. The bible says, "You are the branches." I have never seen any branch that ever lived off of itself. Then Jesus says something quite remarkable. He says, "For without Me you can do nothing." This is very true. We cannot do anything. But I just wanted to point out that its our relationship with Jesus that makes us become more aware of His love for us.
Jesus died for everyone. But what does that mean to you personally? Everyone should have a personal conviction of what Jesus does for them.

[18](18-19) and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

To arrive here, where we understand God's love for us, we need to be deeply rooted. Let's cultivate our fellowship with the Holy Spirit, who makes our relationship with Jesus alive.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Everlasting Father we bless your name. We glorify you. We magnify you. Lord, may you cause your Holy Spirit to manifest your love for us. So that we can experience it personally. In the name of Jesus we pray and ask. Amen
