Being filled

We have established some wonderful truths here. We know that the Holy Spirit lives in us. We know we house the blessed Holy Spirit. In the previous chapter, we attempted to answer the question: How do we accommodate the Holy Spirit?
Let's look  at the Scripture we read.

And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

Ephesians 5:18 NKJV

Now the way Paul says it, it should make us understand that as much as we can be filled with the Spirit of God, we can also be filled with other kinds of spirits if we don't take caution.
That's why Paul rather advises us to be "Filled" with the Spirit.
Let's read further in the Scriptures and see how to accommodate the Holy Spirit.

speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
Ephesians 5:19 NKJV

a) Singing Songs of the Spirit
When we sing Spiritual songs, we attract the presence of the Holy Spirit. That's why when we go to church and start to worship, it quickly draws us into the presence of God.
Music plays a vital role. We ought to be careful with what we listen to. Holy and Spiritual songs make the Holy Spirit live comfortably in our lives. Worldly songs rather quench His presence.

 b) Singing and making melody in your heart
Then there's singing in the Holy Spirit. Usually this kind of singing just comes from your heart. Out of a grateful heart. It can be through songs you have heard or something you were led to do by the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit loves to be worshiped. That's how we fellowship with Him. That's why I say again, music is quite a Spiritual thing. We always ought to take caution.
Let's read further in the Scriptures.

-giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Ephesians 5:20 NKJV

c) Giving thanks to God always. Giving thanks may look like a small thing, but by giving thanks, we increase intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Ungrateful people are usually very far away from God. Nothing is ever small. Nothing is ever too big. For everything we have and everything we do, there's an appropriate amount of thanksgiving we ought to show to God.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Everlasting Father we thank you. We bless your holy name. We glorify you. May you help us to walk in the fullness of your Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen
