chapter thirty two

Third Person POV

A harsh chap at the door woke Heiji from her light slumber. "Heiji, are you in there?"

Haknyeons voice startled the girl, she looked up to see her bedroom light was on but it was still fairly dark outside. It wasn't until she heard the boy behind her groan that she was fully aware of her surroundings.

"Y-yes," Heiji stutters, unsure of what to do. Her eyes wandered to the floor, where she saw clothes and underwear, and the colour drained from her face. "Two seconds, Hak."

"Sure," the boy says lazily, walking into the hallway to wait for her to come outside. She had been gone for a couple of hours now, yet everyone was still at her house, still awake and very much drunk.

She tries her best not to disturb the boy, lifting his arm up lightly before making sure he was fully asleep still as she tried to get herself dressed. She still felt slightly self conscious, although he had seen practically everything just hours ago. The earlier events flash back into Heiji's mind as she feels a shooting pain between her legs, but that was expected after what they had done.

"Hey," Heiji says lightly, closing the door behind her to leave a sleeping Hyunjae in her bed. "What's wrong?"

"You've been away for hours," Haknyeon looks at her worried. "Did you fall asleep?"

Heiji stays silent, she felt like she couldn't lie to him, as always. The boy had recently sobered up, as did most people in the house. He noticed the girl looking shamefully at him, and he could have sworn she was about to cry.

"Hey," he reaches down, holding her arms. "What's wrong?"

Without hesitation, Heiji takes his hand and leads him into her mothers bedroom, and by this point - he knew something was wrong. She takes a deep, shaky breath, before holding a hand to her head.

"I have a headache," she says quietly, scrunching up her face before blinking her eyes a few times to see if the pain would ease. It didn't, but that wasn't what they were here for. "Hak?"

"Mhm?" He stares contently at the girl, her eyes darted everywhere else around the room before looking at him.

"I lost my virginity," she blurts, the boys eyes widening. "With Hyunjae."

"Okay..." He says calmly, watching as the girl began to freak out after she said those words. He noticed she began to shake a little, as though she was on the verge of a break down. "Hey, come on now."

He removes her hands which had jolted upwards to cover her face, her head hanging in shame. She felt dirty, no matter how much she wanted it at the time, she didn't feel like it was right. She was drunk and so was he, how could they have made such a decision?

"Stop it, Heiji," Haknyeon says softly. "Why are you so upset? Talk to me."

"I don't love him," the girl looks at her hands. "I was supposed to save that for someone I loved."

"It doesn't always work out that way," Haknyeon tries his best to ease the girls nerves. "That's what you're told, you should save yourself for someone you love, but that just defies the laws of attraction. It happens, Heiji. You can have sex with multiple people, but make love to only one."

Heiji looks at the boy, stifling a laugh. "Ew, I don't like when you talk like this."

"Shut up," Haknyeon laughs, putting his arm over the girl. "I'm trying to make you feel better. It isn't the end of the world, Heiji. I know it's important but try look at the positives - you actually had sex, with someone you trust too. You're lucky it was him."

"I guess," Heiji sighed, she did feel a little better after the talk with the boy. The two sat for a while, Haknyeon rubbing his thumb over the girls shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. "Thanks, Hak."

"You did use protection, right?" The realisation suddenly hits him, as the girl looks over to him.

"I'm on birth control."

"Why?" He asks innocently, he didn't know the ins and outs of the pills women could take.

Heiji laughs at his shocked face. "I wasn't planning to have sex, if that's what you're wondering. I take the pills for a different reason."

"Oh, okay, I won't ask," he nods, feeling reassured and a sense of relief coming over him. "You can never be too safe you know."

"I know," Heiji says laughing lightly, before cuddling back into him. Heiji swore she could feel a heavier weight on her shoulders than the boys arm that lay over it, and she knew she had to tell him. "Hak?"

"Yeah?"

"Sunwoo's back."

The boy stayed silent, it all made sense now. She needed something to take her mind off of the boy, which he wasn't necessarily against - but now he knew why she was so upset. "How do you know?"

"He came here," she says barely beyond a whisper, as Haknyeon shook his head, hugging her a little tighter. "He told me he loves me."

"Okay..." Haknyeon says understandably again, not wanting his words to come out insensitive or make the girl feel worse than what she did. He tried to be gentle, different from his usual self which always wound her up and joked with her. "And what did you say?"

"Nothing," Heiji shrugs, although the situation was not as casual as she was trying to make out. "I asked him to leave, and he did."

"Heiji," Haknyeon says carefully. He could tell when the girl was lying, she fidgeted with her fingers and refused to make eye contact - in this situation it was easy for her, he couldn't see her eyes. "What else happened?"

She looks up at the boy with troubled eyes, knowing she couldn't escape honesty when it came to the boy. "He kissed me."

"Okay," he nods slowly again. "And, how did that make you feel?"

"I don't know," the girl blurts. "Terrible, I couldn't stop crying and neither could he. When he turned to leave, Hak, I didn't want him to. Why am I like this?"

"Because you love him," the boy speaks slowly, the girl throwing her head into her hands again. "And that might not change Heiji, he's your first love, so to speak. My advice remains the same, keep your pride and try to move on from it, if you can."

"And if I can't?"

"Then you can't," he shrugs. "And it isn't a bad thing, you'll always love him in some way or another. But remember how you were just last week? You had finally gotten somewhere on your journey - you were moving on. This will be a setback, but I don't doubt that you can do it."

"Thank you," she breathes out, smiling at the boy. "I hope I can too."

"That's also why I don't think you sleeping with Hyunjae was the worst decision," Haknyeon removes his arm from around the girls shoulder, holding his hand out for her as he stands up. "You've got to kiss a thousand frogs before you meet your prince."

Heiji lets out a laugh, standing up to go with the boy. "Or in my case, have sex with them."

"Okay calm down you've done it once," he nudges her as they leave the room. "You better go check on him, he's probably out cold."

"Probably," the girl sighs. "I'll be down shortly."

She opens the door and the two hear a loud snore escape his mouth, as Haknyeon lets out a laugh. "Jesus he is out cold, what did you two get up to?"

"Pretty self explanatory," the girl bites back jokingly, the two laughing as they go their separate ways. She closes the door behind them again, picking up the boys clothes from the floor and folding them nicely on her computer desk.

She sighs for the one hundredth time tonight, taking a seat by her desk and looking at the boy sleeping peacefully in her bed. It felt weird seeing a boy in her bed, and a beautiful one at that. She wondered if this would be something she'd like to have in the future, not necessarily with him, but with someone.

"Hey," Hyunjae whispers groggily, opening his eyes to see the girl, before covering them when the bright light shone in them. "Why aren't you over here?"

"I'm awake now," she says softly. "Your clothes are here."

"My clothes?" The boy sounds genuinely confused, until he feels the bed sheets against his naked body, and realisation hits. "Oh, I see, thank you."

Heiji awkwardly takes his clothes, handing them to the boy who was now sitting upright before turning away so he could get changed.

"You don't need to turn away," he says, laughing as he pulled his boxers up his legs.

"No," Heiji shakes her head. "I do, you deserve privacy."

"Respectable woman," Hyunjae laughs lightly, throwing the rest of his clothes on. "Well, thank you, that's very kind of you."

Heiji smiles, not turning around until he tapped her shoulder to say it was safe too. His hair was  messy, and he looked tired, but as Heiji looked at him - she suddenly didn't feel much regret. She had lost her virginity to this handsome man, she should be proud of that.

"Hey," he says gently, looking in the girls eyes. "I hope this doesn't change things between us."

"Why would it?" Heiji looks confused, did he really think she would change around him now? Sure, it could be awkward at times, but as Haknyeon said - she trusted him, and he trusted her as friends.

"Just..." he trails off, feeling slightly awkward at his next choice of words, "considering we took each others v-virginity."

"Oh," Heiji was shocked, he was a virgin too? How could he be?" I didn't realise you were..."

Hyunjae breathes out, giving the girl a small smile. "I'm glad it was you, though."

"I'm glad it was you, too," Heiji says contently, even though part of her wishes she had still saved herself for someone else, but she couldn't changed what had happened between them. He was good to her, she had to be grateful for that. "I'm going to get some painkillers and water, do you need anything? I'll bring you a glass of water."

"Did I hurt you?" The boy asks suddenly, his voice was laced with worry and it showed in his eyes, Heiji almost giggled at the boys concern. It was sweet.

"No," she says shyly. "I have a headache, I'm assuming you might too considering how drunk we were."

"Thank god," he lets out a breath of relief. "I'll come with you, if that's okay?"

Heiji nods, as the boy follows closely behind her. A new wave of confidence struck Heiji, like earlier, she didn't want Hyunjae to follow close by in case people had their suspicions, but now she didn't seem to care. Partly because she knew everyone would be too drunk to comprehend that they were both gone for so long.

"Hey you two," Lia smiled, Kevin trailing alongside her. He looked between the two, and suddenly he knew, but he needn't dare to say anything. "You guys feeling better?"

"Huh?" Hyunjae asks from behind the girl.

"Haknyeon said he found you asleep in Heiji's mothers room and Heiji passed out in hers for a while," Lia said. "I hope you're feeling better."

Heiji didn't dare let out a sigh of relief, instead she just smiled at the girl. "Much better, thanks Lia. Wanna go grab a drink?"

"Can I speak to you, Heiji?" Kevin asks suddenly, before pointing his head towards the kitchen. Heiji simply nods, as Lia then drags Hyunjae away to get a drink.

"What's wrong?" She asks, she was worried because she had only seen him look this concerned a few times.

"I know I seen Sunwoo earlier," he says calmly. "I just knew it was him."

"It was," she said far too casually for Kevin. "He's back."

"How are you so alright with this?" He asks, looking at the girl as she poured herself another drink, making it extra strong since she was currently speaking about someone who she didn't want to speak about.

"I don't have a choice," she says, truthfully looking sad as she looks into Kevin's concerned, yet also sad eyes. "I can't allow myself to dwell on his choices. He's like the waves, he comes and goes."
