chapter forty four

Third Person POV

Heiji looks at the boy hesitantly as his eyes still locked with his fathers, before realising she would have to turn around and face him sooner or later.

"Hello," the man says politely, yet rather sternly. "Who is this young lady, Sunwoo?"

Sunwoo was surprised by his own fathers manners, he remembered the days where he would ignore Jiwoo at any cost when she was at the house. He felt happy that he was at least trying to change, or he could see from one glance that the girl was different.

"Father, this is Heiji," Sunwoo speaks slowly, watching as Heiji reached out her hand to him, which he accepted.

"You better let the girl inside, she looks cold," his father said, his eyes travelling down to her bare legs, "and her hands are cold."

Heiji felt a little insecure by the mans glance and she felt Sunwoo tighten up from beside her. He took back his previous thoughts, the man seemed like he was back to his usual ways.

It wasn't that he seemed overtly rude or obnoxious, which Sunwoo knew he was, but to Heiji - the man was as cold as the wind tonight. And that made her nervous.

His mother was lovely, his sister was just as lovely, why couldn't his father be lovely?

"Would you like to come in?" Sunwoo asks the girl softly as his father squeezes by the two, notably without saying 'excuse me'.

"Uh, sure," Heiji looks unsure until she looks into the boys eyes. "If you'd like?"

"I'd love that," he throws her a small smile as they hear his father speak inside the house. "I'm sorry about him."

Sunwoo felt guilty for the actions of his father, he felt as though he was responsible for never telling Heiji about the way he was, or not allowing her to meet him sooner.

The two walk inside, Heiji trailing awkwardly behind the boy after she took her shoes off at the door.

Upon reaching the living room door, Heiji seen how his father sat on the opposite couch from his mother, and her heart felt a little heavy in her chest. She could feel that hardly any love was felt in this house, and maybe that's why Sunwoo loved so hard.

She reaches for the boys hands as he intertwines their fingers tightly, throwing her a smile over his shoulder.

"So, is this your new girlfriend?" His father asks suddenly, looking up from the television to study the girl in a better light.

"Yes," Sunwoo nods, and Heiji's heart fluttered. "It sure is."

Sure, they weren't official yet, but it would be far too difficult for the boy to explain to his parents. He did plan for her to be his girlfriend officially, finally - at some point soon.

"She's more polite than the last one," his father nods, earning a gasp from Sunwoo's mother.

"Stop that!" His mother exclaims, making Heiji jump a little from the sudden change in voice tone and pitch. "I'm sorry, Heiji."

"Don't worry," she bows to the two of them. "I appreciate it."

"See?" His father chuckles snuggly. "The girl isn't offended."

"She should be," Sunwoo snaps at him, tugging Heiji's hand. "We're going upstairs now before you say anything else stupid."

After the girl said her goodbyes and trailed after Sunwoo, his mother and father returned to watching the television.

"You should be nicer to the girl," his mother says calmly. "Our boy is happy, how can you not see that?"

"What's her whole name?" The man asks suddenly, his eyes wandered to the door where she last stood.

"Song Heiji," her mother nods, although once she said it out loud, the look on the mans face made complete sense to her - and the same expression fell upon hers. "Could it really be his daughter?"

Upstairs, the girl waited behind Sunwoo as he slowly opened the door. "Sorry for the mess, I wasn't expecting any visitors."

Heiji chuckles, following behind him as she looked around the boys room - which was rather large. She closed the door slowly behind her as she looked at the dull lit room before her.

"You're a man, I expect a mess," she teases him as he looks over his shoulder at her.

"Is that right?" He smiles, looking down at her.

Before Heiji knew what was coming next, the boy had gently placed his arms under hers, lifting her up as she let out a loud laugh, before she was flung softly on the bed.

As the boy hovered over her laughing, she took a minute to take all of his beauty in once again. "Hi."

"Hi," he chuckles, looking down at the girl as he moved her hair which had now became a mess over her face. "How are you?"

"I'm great," she motions to the boy towering over her before wriggling her eyebrows and smirking as the boy laughed. "Got a great view."

"Let me take your jacket," he holds the girls hand, tugging her upwards as he took her arms gently out the sleeves before hanging it up on the back of his door on the handle.

"Are your parents okay with me being up here?" The girl asks, rather shyly which Sunwoo noticed and giggled at.

"Why wouldn't they be, silly?" He sits down beside the girl, as she tucked her legs in a basket underneath her.

"I don't know," she shrugs. "Just in case they thought something, I don't know, sorry, I feel stupid for even saying anything."

"You're rambling," the boy points out, chuckling. "You've done a lot of rambling tonight."

The girl takes a deep breath before giving the boy a smile, "I've had a lot on my mind."

"Me too," he says softly, his hand reaching for hers.

"I guess this is me trying to be more up front, like you," she nods as the boys lips tug up into a smile. "Sorry I'm not very good at it."

"I like it," he grins at her. "It's cute seeing you get all caught up in your words."

"No it's not," she shakes her head. "But thank you, I guess."

The boy looks at her with admiration for a second before a noise at the door disturbs the two. "Sunwoo?"

His mother enters the room once Sunwoo says it's okay to do so, which gave enough time for Heiji to jump across the bed a little further away from the boy, which made him chuckle. "Yes, mother?"

"Would you be able to pick me up a few things tomorrow, from your store?" She asks politely, giving the girl a smile.

"Of course," he speaks so gently to his mother, which makes Heiji love him even more, if that was possible. "Just leave a note and I'll get the stuff for you."

"Thanks, son," she smiles before turning to Heiji. "I apologise on behalf of my husband, Heiji."

"Don't be silly," the girl smiles. "I appreciate it, although no offence was taken."

The woman nods, throwing the two another smile which lasted for noticeably a second longer than she possibly intended, before she shut the door and left again.

"Are you sure she's okay with me being up here?" Heiji asks quietly, feeling as though her visit was a little check up on the two, which she could understand - although she didn't want his mother to worry or to be a burden to their night.

"I'm sure," Sunwoo chuckles, edging closer to the girl again. "Why would you ask?"

"I don't know," the girl shakes her head. "Sorry."

"She was doing a check up, I can tell," the boy admits before laughing.

"I thought so," she says. "I don't want to cause any trouble by being up here."

"You're not," Sunwoo reassures her. "She's just being a mother."

"I understand."

"Besides," the boy chuckles before looking up at the girl and speaking lower than before. "I'd know better to keep my hands off you whilst my parents were downstairs."

The girl almost choked on fresh air at the boys words, an unfamiliar feeling arose in lower her stomach. How could one boys words turn her on more than a touch from someone had done before?

"Stop that," she finally breathes out. Sunwoo chuckles, noticing as her hands rubbed her knees and her face flushed red, he had made her nervous.

"Sorry," he says, looking in the girls eyes. "One day I'll show you how much I love you, words will have to do for now, is that alright?"

The boy knew what he was doing, he felt a certain type of power now that he could see her crumbling before his very eyes and he hadn't even touched her yet.

However, in a split second, her hands had lifted from her knees and were now wrapped around the back of the boys head as she crashed her lips upon his.

"I love you," she murmured against his lips before she pulled away for a second to look in those eyes. "I love you, I love you."

She began pressing kisses all over the boys face, as the boy chuckled from underneath her. Her little attack made butterflies form in his stomach, which could have been partly because the girl was now straddling his lap in a position which he had only dreamed they'd be in one day.

"I love you," he repeats, holding her face and looking into her eyes. "But you'll have to get off of me for now."

"Why?" The girl asks, growing concerned as the boys face flushed and he looked down, avoiding her gaze. "Oh, shit, sorry."

He chuckles, watching as the girl grew embarrassed. "Don't apologise, Heiji."

"I didn't reali-"

"You're speaking as though it's a bad thing," the boy chuckled, fixing his joggers before sitting cross legged like her too. "I would have gotten too carried away."

"Me too," the girl admits shyly, looking over at the boy. "Would you like to watch a movie?"

The boy let's out a loud laugh, as the girl looks on confused. "Watch a movie?"

"What's so funny about that?" The girl looks at the boy with a shocked face, however with a slight smile as the boys laughter fills the room.

"Asking to watch a movie is like a universal signpost for having sex," the boy laughs as Heiji gasps. "You didn't know that?"

Heiji blinks a couple of times, watching as the boys faced grows more amused.

"Netflix and Chill? What do you think that means?"

"Watching Netflix and chilling out," Heiji speaks innocently as the boy chuckles again, pulling her arm to let her lie beside him. "It doesn't mean that?"

"You're so innocent," Sunwoo laughs, tucking a piece of the girls hair behind her ear. "God help you."

"What is that supposed to mean?" She playfully smacks his chest.

He looks down, raising an eyebrow at her and throwing a quick smirk. "Nothing, dear."
