Come Out Ginny

Ginny won't you come and dance with me?
Your old man's out till quarter past three
If we get caught he'll put you over his knee
And you'll be sore in the morning

Mama's in the kitchen cooking biscuits and grits
Daddy's in the barn he's pitching a fit
We're baling all day I can't wait to quit
So I can see Miss Ginny

The hogs got loose and it's up to me
But Ol' Blue's got a squirrel trapped in a tree
I'd grab my gun but I can't see
Because it's pouring raining

A war's coming up and I want you to know
I saw what it's like in a picture show
It ain't right killing folks but I guess I'll go
Because they say I ought to
