mike came down the stairs with a tray of leftover dinner of his. I slouched on the sofa a bit more, not really wanting to be seen. El moved back a bit as she saw lucas walk down.

"Don't worry he wont bite," mike old her and she came out a bit. "Their sorry they didn't mean to say that stuff," he continued and dustin smiled

"Yeah, we wouldn't of upset you if we knew you had superpowers," dustin told her, I furrowed my brows and held my arms out, palms facing the ceiling and mike went and hit him.

"They don't really mean that," mike said.

"Yeah, we was just trying to look for our friend," lucas said and she looked at him confused.

"Friend?" She asked.

"Yeah, friend." Lucas told her sharply

"What, is friend?" She asked, looking at the four of us.

"Is she serious?" Lucas muttered and fixed up a bit. "A, a friend is..." he trailed off and mike cutted in just in time.

"A friend is someone that you'd do anything for," he told her, dustin joined along.

"You show them your cool stuff like comic books and trading cards," he told her.

"and they never break a promise," mike continued. "Friends tell each other things their parents don't know," he said and she relaxed a little, looking at the ground. I sighed and looked at my watch.

"Shit, guys I gotta go," I told the party and they all waved, including el, just a tiny wave. I waved back and walked out the back door grabbing my bike as I walked past my house, putting on my backpack neatly and began to pedal up to castle byers.
