Prologue
🛫🛫🛫
For Cynthia Legazpi, her best friend is herself alone.
Nobody would dare to break her walls because all of them thinks that she will not open up herself to them.
So, instead of socializing, she began to accept that she can never have someone who will understand and know her.
It's not a big deal if she works alone.
In fact, she preferred it that way.
She can work in peace.
She can accomplish tasks in peace and on time.
So, when her paid vacation leave for seven days was approved that she filed at the beginning of the school year during their annual planning, she immediately took on the chance and booked a trip to Seoul, South Korea for five days and four nights.
How about the remaining two days?
She will spend it by doing nothing at home.
Pampering herself up and being on bed catching up on sleep.
Cynthia smiled at the thought.
One week more and she will be setting her feet on Korea.
Where her favorite korean dramas are at.
Maybe, she'll meet the love of her life there?
Who knows?
Having that naughty thought, she gathered up her book and laptop, stood up and went to her last class for the day.
Cynthia is an English Teacher for Senior High School students.
She recently graduated in her masters degree in English and she was delighted at the thought of the opportunity to work abroad when her former college professor offered her a job.
Maybe the trip will help her think over her next plan if she will stay in the current profession she's in now.
Her two consecutive classes ended and now that she's back in the Faculty Room, she's busy encoding her lesson plan for next week.
They are due to submit them by the end of the week.
And, Cynthia being always the punctual one, consistently meets the scheduled date and even submit them ahead of time.
She is down to last two topics when her seatmate co-teacher and friend, Jorisa Mendez, tapped her shoulder.
"What do you think of this one? Will it be okay if I incorporate this topic?" She asked her.
Jorisa was pertaining to her homework in Graduate School.
Unlike Cynthia, Jorisa enrolled a year later in masters than her which explains why she is hyped up into her assignment.
Jorisa is also a vibrant individual.
And the two of them are extremely close with each other among their co-teachers who got hired on the same year as them.
They are also best friends since high school but got separated due to different universities they wanted to study in.
But, both did not disagree with their decisions.
Instead, they supported each other and still managed to have some time every month to hang out and relax.
Cynthia barely had her own circle of friends in college.
She always went home directly as she prefer anonymity and quietness.
She doesn't feel comfortable mingling with a group of people.
For her, one or two friends will do.
Cynthia helped Jorisa for a moment before returning back to her work.
Jorisa thanked her and promised to make it up to her after her midterms in gradschool.
Cynthia gave her a wave of dismissal saying that it's nothing.
For her, if you are genuine enough to help someone, you wouldn't ask anything in return.
Cynthia finished her work before their official time out, reviewed them for a bit before she printed them out to be submitted to their English Coordinator tomorrow and bid goodbye to Jorisa.
It has been a tiring week indeed and she was eager to take out her comfort food from a fastfood chain nearby and went home to feast on it.
