"Now that we're done with the meeting, may I request your full cooperation for our event next month?" Their English Coordinator, Miss Sandy Jimenez, asked.

Cynthia and her colleagues nodded in response.

"We can push through with it since we are already implementing our English Only Policy for the benefit of our students and everyone." Cynthia said and received a nod of agreement from her co-teachers.

"Aside from that, they already feel comfortable speaking the language so I think, we're good to go." Jorisa added and Cynthia smiled at her friend beside her.

Next month is English month and their propositions for story-telling for pre-school students, memory games for grade school pupils and film showing for high school students were already approved.

Furthermore, they are also planning to have another special activity to engage their student population to practice their English Speaking Skills.

Miss Sandy adjourned our meeting and we went out of the conference room.

Me and Jorisa immediately headed to the canteen and ate our free dinner packages sponsored by the admin every meeting then went to the Faculty Room and collected our things.

It's almost seven in the evening and let's face it, it's hard to go home during this time of day: rush hour.

Since both of us are aching to rest, we decided to rode a taxicab although it's costly and shared the fare.

Jorisa lives three blocks away from me so we almost go to school and went home together every single day.

Once I arrived home after an hour at the road, I changed into my indoor clothes just in time mom got out of the bathroom.

"Hey, why did you come home late?" Mom asked and I kissed her cheek.

"Hello, mom. We had a meeting earlier for next month's event. I forgot to text you earlier, sorry."
I apologized and gave her a brief hug. "Where's dad?"

We reached the living room and found dad asleep on the couch, his mouth slightly open.

We both stifled a giggle and I saw dad's cellphone resting on the coffee table.

Feeling childish at the moment, I set his phone in silent mode and made sure that the camera's flash is turned off before snapping a shot of him and making it his own lock screen wallpaper.

Mom was trying her best not to laugh at loud but she snorted.

"I really am wondering why you have no group of friends, you're very naughty and fun to talk to."
Mom said in disbelief and shook her head.

"You're just telling that 'coz I'm your daughter." I rolled my eyes.

I returned dad's phone back on the coffee table and sat at our single-seater couch not to disturb dad's sleep.

I stretched my arms and legs and yawned.

"Have you eaten dinner? Let's eat as soon as your dad wakes up." Mom said and did not wait for my answer.

"I already did. They had ordered our dinner since our meeting took more than an hour." I said. "You two can go ahead later."

"Why don't you go upstairs to your room and have a proper rest? It's eight in the evening. Reward yourself an early sleep if you can."
Mom frowned at me when she noticed me yawning quite a few times.

"I think that's a good idea. I'm pretty beat. School lately was tedious. Goodnight mom. " I finally said and stood up.

She waved her hand in acknowledgment and I went upstairs.

As soon as I reached my room, I started yawning repeatedly.

True enough, when my back landed on the mattress, I was completely knocked out.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm the next day.

Four o'clock in the morning.

I checked my wall calendar.

Thanks God it's Friday!

Finally, hello semestral break in two days!

The next morning, I woke up refreshed from a ten hour sleep.

Me and my parents did our usual routine: thirty minute Zumba, watched two episodes of a korean drama series and indulged in sweets.

We were eating our lunch when I received a notification of an email from the travel agency which I booked early this year.

"Hey. Put that away. We're eating." Dad said.

My thoughts were distracted by dad but my smile was wide.

"Is that the agency?" Mom asked chewing on her food.

I nodded and continued eating.

"Are you guys sure you don't want to come with me? You, too, deserve a vacation. Spend some of your savings to see some beautiful sights!" I exclaimed and finished my food.

Both mom and dad nodded.

"We cannot walk too long anymore. We get tired easily. Just enjoy and have some fun." Mom said and drank her juice.

I definitely will!
