Chapter 2
As Kari sat in her science class that same day she got a strange feeling in her core. It felt like butterflies were fluttering in her stomach but at the same time it was something different, something bad. She shook off the feeling and did her best to pay attention to her teacher since this would be on a test.
A little bit down the road from Kari's and Shade's school Mew and Celebi rushed towards the window of the room that Kari was in. Mew tried to go in but Celebi stopped him by grabbing onto his tail and pulled him back.
"Wait! There are too many humans around here. We should wait for her to exit the building." She said and Mew huffed with crossed arms.
"Fine... But we need to get her and fast. I have a bad feeling deep down... Like---" Mew was cut off by Celebi finishing his sentence.
"Like something's coming... I feel it too. I'm sure everyone else back in the Pokémon realm does as well." She said and the two hid in a nearby tree to wait for Kari.
Soon the bell rang for school to let out and Kari walked out with Shade happily. The two began talking with each other like always and began to near the entrance and exit gate at the front of the school.
"There she is!" Mew called out happily but Celebi stopped him from leaving the tree.
"Huh?" Kari thought with a blink as she looked in the direction of Mew's voice. That was when she noticed the two hidden in the small tree. She went wide eyed and gasped in shock.
"Kari? What are you--"
"Nothing! Come on, I wanna get home! Let's go let's go!" Kari said with a giggle and wide smile as she grabbed Shade's right wrist and raced off. "Those two!!" Kari thought in annoyance as she went into her house and waved Shade off, refusing to eat dinner with her and her parents for a second night in a row.
Soon she heard Mew and Celebi in her room and grumbled. She quickly made herself some food then went up to her room. She even made them some food, a fruit salad to be exact. The salad had blueberries, sliced apple's, sliced strawberries, some banana pieces and a bit of clementine for that natural citrus flavor. She slid the door open with her food and saw Mew bouncing on her bed while Celebi was playing with Kari's toys.
"Hey," Kari called and the two looked up at her. "I have fruit salad. You want some?" She asked with a stern look and they nodded.
"Yes please!" Mew called happily and went to grab the salad and Kari sighed and gave him his bowl then gave Celebi hers.
"I saw you at my school." Kari said as she took a bite of her tuna sandwich. Mew and Celebi jolted at Kari's stern tone and gulped. "Well, whatever. I don't control you." Kari shrugged as she swallowed her bite of food and looked at the two. "So... Who is this Arceus guy you told me about and why does he want to speak with me?" Kari asked and Celebi blinked.
"Arceus is known as the god Pokémon. He created everything." She replied and Mew huffed.
"Yeah, well I'm the ancestor to all Pokémon!" He called out I'm annoyance.
"Well, true. But I thought you two worked together to create everything..." Celebi said nervously and Mew shrugged it off. "Anyway, he wants to talk to you about something important. Something that could change your world for the better." She said and Kari blinked as her interest grew.
"Ok..." Kari hummed in thought then finished her dinner then took the dishes to the kitchen and washed them. "So, should I bring some stuff? What about school? Anything I should know?"
"Don't worry about school. It would be wise to bring a bag with the essentials and you'll learn what you need to know from Arceus." Mew called while swaying his tail.
"Kay... How do we get there?"
"We'll take care of that. Does this mean you're coming with us?" Celebi asked happily and Kari sighed then nodded.
"I guess. I don't really have a choice in the matter. Let me get my things ready then I'll go with you." Kari said and the two Pokémon nodded.
Kari grabbed a silver knapsack and packed a change of clothes, a pair of pajamas, some books, notepads as well as pencils, cooking supplies, a windup flashlight, winter gear, summer gear, and a sleeping bag. She also brought a canteen incase she needed water. She did not know what to expect so she pack for whatever she could think of then sat down at the table and began to write a note for Shade.
"Dear Shade, I won't be going to school today or tomorrow or anytime soon it seems. Something came up. I don't know how to tell you about it... All I know for sure is that it could cause a big change. I'll be ok.
Sincerely, Kari."
Once she was done writing the note she folded it then put "To: Shade" on it then taped it to the outter part of her front door with a few pieces of tape then sighed and put her knapsack on, locked her front door, and looked at Mew and Celebi.
"Are you ready?" Celebi asked and Kari nodded while gripping the straps of her knapsack. The two Pokémon smiled then nodded to each other with a giggle. A pink transparent bubble surrounded Kari and She began to float up. They then went out through Kari's back door, Celebi closing and locking the door after they exited the house, and flew up into the sky and into the clouds. Kari gulped and watched Mew and Celebi with worried eyes. She decided to look down at the small town that she called home, thinking it to be her last glance of her home. It was so small now because they had flown so high in such a short time.
Kari gulped then looked ahead and noticed that the clouds were now surrounding the three. One cloud in particular caught her attention. It was a transparent gold color and arch shaped, but it was not a cloud as she soon realized. It was a gate that connected the Pokémon realm to the human realm. Mew, Celebi and Kari flew in to the gate and then landed on what looked like a tropical island. Kari gulped and looked around timidly, regretting the decision she made instantly while the pink transparent bubble vanished.
Soon Kari was led into a big cave to the left of the island. The entrance was large enough so that the legendary Pokémon of the sea could fit in with plenty of room to spare. Kari went in and saw many strange creatures sitting together in a circle around a clear orb. Mew smiled happily as he flew towards them with Celebi.
"We brought her!" He called and every legendary Pokémon turned their head towards Mew as he gestured to Kari then they stared at her.
"Arceus, she's just a child. A HUMAN child." A mainly red, black and white Pokémon huffed in a confused male voice.
"For once I agree with Groudon." A mainly blue, red and white Pokémon grumbled in a mail voice.
"He must have a reason." A pink, yellow and blue Pokémon chimed in with a majestic feminine voice. Arceus stomped his foot then looked at everyone then at Kari, who was shivering lightly.
"Do not be afraid. We will not harm you." Arceus said as he noticed that she was slightly frightened. Kari gulped then nodded as she did her best to collect herself. "I am Arceus and these are the other Pokémon of legend." He said and everyone greeted Kari and introduced themselves.
"Do you know why you are here, Kari?" Palkia asked and Kari nodded slowly.
"K-kind of." She replied timidly while shuffling her feet shyly with a gulp.
"Daw! She's so cute!" A pokemon with long light green hair that resembled a blank piece of sheet music cooed happily with a lovely feminine voice then went up to Kari and hugged her with a giggle. Kari went stiff with wide shocked eyes.
"Meloetta, settle down please. We are not done here." Arceus cleared his throat and Meloetta went back to her spot. "Well then. Kari, we need your help. Millions of years ago your world was different. Beings called Pokémon roamed the land rather than the animals you have now. But due to the rash actions of one human I took the remaining Pokémon from the land and replaced them with the animals you know today." Kari blinked and glanced down as she took all of this information in.
"Ok... So, what does this have to do with me?" Kari asked, glancing up to the white and gold Pokémon, wanting answers.
"Well, I see something in you that could help me change humankind for the better and thus give me the comfort to put all Pokémon back on earth." Arceus said and Kari hummed in thought. She nodded moments later in agreement to Arceus.
"I guess I'll help." Kari said and some of the legendries were happy while some were not sure if they should put their faith in this little human girl. Kari yawned and Arceus blinked then gestured for Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion and Keldeo to take Kari to her new room so she could get some sleep.
"This way Kari." Cobalion called bluntly and the young girl followed while swaying side to side with a yawn.
"Kaaaaayyy..." Kari said through her yawn. She looked around with sleepy eyes and noticed all the different Pokémon species. After the five walked through a dense forest they came to a cave in a mountain side that bordered the forest area and the desert area. Kari blinked and looked around. There was not much but there were a few things like a cabinet and a mat and an extra corridor that could be used for changing.
"This is your home from now on." Virizion stated as she looked at Kari to see her expression.
"Why?" Kari asked with a confused look.
"Because it is safer this way. We can not go to earth just yet, unless we are given permission. So bringing you here was the best option. Not only but you need to understand us Pokémon that way you can help us better." Cobalion stated matter-of-factly. Kari nodded as she understood what he was saying.
"One of the Pokémon will come and wake you up in the morning. It'll be a different Pokémon each day, that way you get to see each species." Terrakion said with a kind male voice and Kari smiled kindly with a nod.
"Right. Well, I'm off to sleep." Kari said with a stretch and went to change while the four left.
"Sleep well Kari!" Keldeo called as he left then trotted away. When Kari was finished changing she went and laid down on her new soft blue mat then covered up with a blanket and began to fall asleep.
"This reminds me of the time when I didn't have a house..." Kari thought with a small hum as she drifted off into a deep slumber.
