Chapter 2

I edited this chapter but it was only a few grammatical errors. So you don't really need to reread the chapter. Unless you want to of course!😂

----------------------------------------------

Taya keeps missing every open parking space. I keep telling her they're there, but she says she searching for the best. When she finally pulls into one that's pretty close to the school, I grab unbuckle my seatbelt and grab my things. Stepping out of the car, I feel a cold breeze tickle my nose. Autumn is my favorite season ever. Especially in Michigan.

"You coming?" I jump at the sound of Taya's voice.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry," I manage to get out while calming my breath. As Taya and I walk together towards the entrance, I start to feel my toes and fingers beginning to get colder and colder. I forgot to bring gloves, so when we reach the closed doors I pull them open with all my strength, and as I do so, I feel the warmthness of East High School. I've been going here since 9th grade and before that, I went to East Middle School and East Elementary School. This is the only school I've ever known, so I can't compare it to any other, unlike Taya. She went to everything West for most of her life. She moved more east four years ago, and that's when she started coming here. We've been best friends ever since.

"I gotta get to class or I'll be late. See ya, Ray," Taya said, just before walking in the opposite direction that I was going.

"Yeah. Okay. See ya, Tay," I called after her. Sadly, we don't have the same homeroom, but we do have pretty much every other class together. Homeroom and math are the only classes we have to be separated. Walking towards my homeroom with Mrs. Lancy, I accidentally bump in to something. Or someone.

"Hey! What's your problem, dude?" Mike Waller, the most popular guy in school, yells at me as he looks down at me on the floor.

"Watch where you're going," he says as he walk away with all his friends. Groaning from the ache in my legs, I gather up all the books that feel out of my bag.

"Crap," I mutter as I look into my lunch bag. The carton of orange juice has broken open and is soaking everything.

"Need help?"

"Come again?" I say as I look up slowly. An outstretched hand is right in front of my head and attached to it is a body. His hair is a medium brown with little steaks of blond in some places. His eyes are the color of hazelnuts . His eyes search mine and I slip my hand into his outstretched one. He pulls me up gently and then bends down to grab my things on the ground. As he hands them to me, I say,

"Thank you," and grab my things.

"It was nothing. They shouldn't have just left you here. By the way, your lunch bag is soaked. I can buy you lunch if you need it," he informs me.

"No,no. It's fine. But thanks," I urge.

"Well I insist. I'm buying you lunch. Here," he argues as he hands me a five dollar bill.

"No. Honestly it's fine. I have money with me." Turning away without the money, I start to walk of. But I don't get very far without feeling something slip into my open backpack. Just as I turn around to see what he did, he walks of with his hands tucked into his front pockets. Oh well, if it makes him feel better.
                               ✨✨
"Where have you been?" It's Taya. "You were supposed to meet me at your locker ten minutes ago."

"We'll I'm sorry. I had to tell my teacher why I had a soaked lunch bag with me," I use as an excuse.

"We'll I don't see it," she says back, walking around me in a circle. "What's the real reason you're late?" She starts to walk away and after a second I run up ahead towards her.

"I already told you. And I threw it away. That's why you don't see it." I know she knows I'm lying, but I don't want her to find out the reason I was late or else she'll never stop pestering me about it.

"That's funny. Okay. What really happened. If you don't tell me then I'm canceling our road trip"

"WHAT?! You can't do that!" I tell her. She would never do that, she wouldn't want to miss out on getting away from her brother, Tom, for a couple weeks.

"Oh yes I can. And I will. Tom isn't even going to be here, so why would it matter if I left or not."

"Fine. I was just looking for someone," I finally give in. I don't want to have the trip cancelled. It's about the only freedom I get from my mom every few months.

"Who? A boy?" she teases.

"Yes. In fact, it was," I say proudly hold my head up a little higher. She's always telling me I'll never get a guy to like me. She knows I will, but she just tells me so that I go find a guy. Every time she's asked in a date she says yes, even if she doesn't like them. This means that she usually drags me along. If u get a boyfriend, it means that for her it won't look as weird. It'll just look like a double date, not dragging your friend along on a date.

"Who? Do I know him? What's his name?" she questions.

"A guy. I don't know. And I don't know."

"Wait, so you have no idea who he is?"

"Not really," I reply sheepishly.

"We'll thus is great. Just great. I'll never get to meet him. "

"Actually, maybe you will. I know what he looks like."

"What does he look like then?" She asks me.

"Well, he's got medium brown hair. Not too dark. Not too light. With some steaks of blond every so often that you can't really tell are there unless you look very closely and carefully. He's got hazelnut eyes that are just stunningly beautiful. And smooth hands that can envelope yours. It's like they're-" I get cut off when I look up at Taya's face. She has a smirk plastered on it and I see a sparkle in her eyes.

"Come on. We gonna be late to class if we don't walk faster," I say walker faster and avoiding her eyes.

"Whatever you say, lovey."

----------------------------------------------
So, I found WiFi.😂 Honestly this is killing me. I don't even know how to fix it. Every other device in my house works (except for two computers), so I really don't know what's going on.

But please don't stop reading my book because the updates don't come as often. I promise I'll figure out how to get my WiFi working, and then I'll be updating whenever I finish a chapter.

Sooo... What do you think of Alec Marshall? Super nice, right? Well just wait. He gets even nicer. You'll find out soon enough!

Don't forget to like and comment. And if theirs any mistakes you catch that I didn't, please tell me!🙏

Love you guys!
