~Chapter Three~
A dark shape looms in the shadows of the room. The darkness is concealing it, but I can vaguely make a humanoid figure. I feel a strong feeling of déjà vu. Where have I seen her before? Or is it a male?
Suddenly a memory blooms, and I am reminded of the first time I was conscious in the hospital. When the three people were in this room. This figure was also there then.
Who is it?
Before I can dwell on it any further, sleep regains its hold on me, and I fade into the darkness.
"Look, Mrs. Haley, I really don't know how this happened. There have been cases like this, of course, but they're extremely rare. What I suspect is that Bianca's neuroparticles were operating at the super high speed, and all the unused energy that would usually be transported to the motor nerves and sensory nerves are bottled up. In her sleeping state, her brain... it created a whole new, fake world."
"I don't care how, I care whether or not my Bianca's memory can be restored!"
"We're working on it, Mrs. Haley. We're working on a cure. Until then, since her physical condition is perfectly fine, except for the scars, I think you can take her home. That is...if you want?"
"Of course I want to, Dr. Logan! She's still my lovely Bianca. If she really doesn't remember me...it's not her fault. I will not turn my child to the streets just because she lost her memory."
Dr. Logan heaves a sigh, and through my blurred vision I notice him sneak a quick glance in my direction. He turns back to Mrs. Haley and my brain is left to let an astonishing thought feed on my time and strength.
Haley. Haley.
My name is Bianca.
Bianca Haley.
Is that woman acting? What does she want from me? I'm nobody. Average student. Average height. Average appearance. Average life.
At least, it used to be average.
I try to sit up and this time manage a half lying, half sitting posture. Dr Logan and the...the woman whip around to face me. I hold my head high, and, in what I hope is a strong, steady voice, I demand, "Answers. I. Want. Answers."
Dr Logan's shoulders are hunched, as if all this is taking a physical impact on him. He heaves a heavy sigh, and moves his chair closer to me, gesturing for the woman to do the same. I don't look, don't even glance in her direction, keeping my eyes focused on Dr Logan. He takes another breath and begins.
"Three years ago, you were in a road accident. The injuries you obtained were very severe, and you were in a coma for these past few years. Your physical state was absolutely perfect. But...you wouldn't wake up."
Confusion and disbelief swirl and mix in my brain. This is false. Incorrect. Road accident? Huh. As if! It's a ploy. A...a...prank. Of course.
But then why does my body- the scars, the burns- contradict?
AUTHOR'S NOTE:- I know absolutely nada about neuroscience. All those terms, neuroparticles, and the reason why Bianca had a fake world, I honestly don't know whether or not it can happen! Please, science side of Wattpad, no haters!!!
