Prologue

"God Louis why are you such a child?" Lia sneered in his direction, being even more of a jerk to her long time boyfriend.

"But m'lady its so much fun!" he jumped off the swing not really caring if she was a gripe to him, he just loved her.

Lia grumbled under her breath something about her boyfriend being too childish for her. What was her deal anyways? It's their 1 year anniversary she should let loose for once, God knows it would help her. She always acted like this in public. Louis only knows that he loves her and that he would be completely lost without her.
As for Lia.. well she loves him too. She just hates his awesome personality.

Let's introduce these characters I have laid out for you so carefully. Lia is about 5'4, hates the outdoors, hates children, likes clothes, shopping, sports, carnivals, is very edgy and will never show her true personality to anyone. Louis is very different you see.
Louis is polar opposite in almost every way. He loves animals, the outdoors, camping. everyone knows him for his high spirit sense of humor at their school, that's why he is so popular. Also how foolish of me how could I forget his best friend Summer Zalas. She's a girl, don't underestimate her, even though she's clumsy, lazy, and is weird (in the good way of course) she makes up for it by being musical, artistic, hilarious, and a good friend. Lia hates her.

You know the feeling of hating someone so much that you wished you could just shoot laser beams at them through you own eyes? That's how she feels.

Anyways returning to the story.

Louis pranced around the meadow that serves as a park, just to aggravate her. She glared at him from the park bench, being a true, real grouch. No body knows how Louis puts up with her, I believe he might start being clueless to the fact at hand as well. Whatever love surpasses all in his world, love is everything to him.

Her curly hair whipped in the breeze behind her, that plus her crossed arms definitely equalled a pissed off girlfriend. Rolling his eyes he began to swing from tree to tree in the autumn breeze. He sighed mentally, if only she could see the beauty. The way how the trees so artfully curved, the red, brown, and yellow leaves barley covering those branches. The still green grass and the meadow flowers dotted across it in no apparent pattern. All of those geese flying in the air, freedom guiding them wherever it may lead.

Louis almost smiled at the fact that
Summer would think like that. Instead of rolling her eyes on a damn bench she would pull out her Canon EOS 4K Cinema Camera that cost 15,999 dollars, he would know since Louis and his friends got it for her birthday, and take pictures of the perfect autumn scenery. Maybe even bring out her worn out easel to paint it, or capture the beauty in paint and canvas as she likes to call it. It's no lie that Louis thinks of her a lot.

"Hey babe I'm going to get us some ice cream!" he yelled at her from his position.

"Don't get me any you know I'm on a diet! Do you want me to get fat?" if possible her glare got harder than before.

"Or I'll just get me ice cream," Louis uttered the words as he crossed the street.

The breeze whipped his already messy blonde hair as he trudged to the ice cream cart. No one was there. Amazing. Just the cherry on top to his utterly perfect day. Scooting across the street once more, he finally made it back to Lia.

"Wanna go home?" he asked her very halfheartedly.

"Sure baby lets go," her angry demeanor melted away when she saw his crestfallen face.

She knew that she had contributed to that expression, yet she couldn't seem to find a way to fix it. The guilt built up more as she saw him just barely scrape and trudge to his car. The silver Chevrolet almost seemed to wait for his world weary car owner, once they made it there they opened the doors, then strapped themselves in. Minutes of silence passed through the car, a few more silent turns. One more block away until she was home. The route was turned until he was in her pristine stone driveway.

"Bye babe," she kissed her lovers cheek then went inside her house.

No answer was ever said to her. Once he backed out he was hit with a wave of sobs coming up his throat, why?
Why was he cursed to be with the woman who caused him so much misery in his life? Why couldn't he just tell her how he felt? He wanted to say he loved her but no sound came out.
How could he love her when she didn't love him back? It was so damn obvious that she hated him, so why didn't she break up with him to spare him the torture?

His brain racked answers for the unanswered questions in his stupid life.
He had to drive to the only place he felt safe, wait was she at work? The distraught blonde boy pulled out his phone to search the Starbucks employee hours, yep she's there. Suddenly it started raining, only adding to his frustration.

"Are you kidding me!?" he threw up his hands in the air.

'Don't think Louis, just drive.' This thought shut up his inner rant.
He drove as fast as he could to Starbucks, which perfectly was near Lia's house. Louis got out of his car as fast as he could, slamming the door in the process. He slipped and tripped until he got inside the coffee shoppe's doors. She looked up immediately her dark brown hair was in a messy bun, he could've ran over to her and cried in her arms forever.

"Hey Leena-Beana could you take my shift? I have an emergency," she said quickly glancing at her best friend.

"Sure thang Sunshine but make it quick," her creole drawl standing out from the rest of the assorted accents.

Her grey eyes filled with concern instantly when she saw him, with his red framed eyes and tear streaks down his usually smiling face. Quickly Summer ushered him to a booth with a hand on his back. He breathed in her addicting scent, coffee, paint, clay, and vanilla. It may seem as a terrible mix, but it's one of the most calming thing Louis has ever smelt. It meant his best friend was here to help him. He hoped that the smell would never go away.
Before she could do anything else he quickly turned around and hugged Summer, stealing her breath away when he squeezed her. The sobs coming out of his throat and the tears broke her heart.

"Shhh, shh it's okay now Louis," his sobs continued.

"La da dum it'll be okay, my little soldier
Don't you cry, it'll be alright
Let your worries wash away
I'll be right here tonight..." sung the song that she wrote softly into his ear and patted his back slowly to the beat.

His cries slowed to a almost nonexistent rate, she always helped.

"Okay now what happened? Remember you can tell me anything and everything, forever and always," she smiled weakly, making his heart squeeze with adoration.

"You kn-know how I have problems with La-Lia?" he stuttered, afraid of her judgment.

"Yes Lou?"

"W-well I don't think it's working out, she's b-being even more terrible to me, saying that I'm ugly and that she should've never dated me, -"

"She's right she shouldn't have dated you, ya know why Lou bear?" he shook his head as an answer.

"Because you are perfect, your adorable, your laugh is sexy, you always make everybody laugh, your personality is better than gold, it's platinum, you have a spark that almost no one has, you're the bestest friend a girl or guy could ever ask for. Don't you see your perfect the way you are and she's just using you for your amazing personality, and you know what? She doesn't deserve a good guy like you, that's why she shouldn't have dated you Louis." She stepped out from the hug and put her hands on his shoulders.

Her caring statement and her genuine look told him all he needed to know, she believed all those things about him. How is she so perfect in these situations, come to think of it she was perfect in every situation.

"R-really..?" his blue orbs racked her honest soul.

"Would I lie Lou?" she smiled at the end.

Tears raced down Louis's face fast, and he hugged her with his arms around her 8 shaped waist. Her chub pressed against him, but he didn't care, her chub was cute to him. Her face turned from gentle to worried in a second, she desperately patted his back again, wanting to see his beautiful smile again.

"Lou, what's wrong?" she so desperately inquired.

"It-It's just th-at your always there for me and I've always took it for granted! I'm s-so sorry Sum-mer" he felt genuine guilt for the fact.

"Oh no, Lou it's okay, I always want to see your smile plastered on your face, and it breaks my heart when you don't have it," she admitted in his arms, she began to stroke his hair to sooth him again.

"No it's not okay I've never helped you when you weren't happy," his voice cracked and died down to a whisper.
She smiled very softly to not break him. He sunk to the dirty floor and banged his head against the wall. Smiling, she crouched down in front of her sad friend. Summer gently put her palm on his cheek and gently stroked away the tears with her thumb.

"Lou-bear you gotta stop underestimating yourself, don't you see? You unintentionally help me, even if you don't know what to say, it shows me you actually, genuinely care about me, that's all I've ever needed to cheer me up," he smiled at her, she held out her hand and he took it, so she pulled them up.

Once again he hugged her, she kissed him on the forehead, then they walked out together. She stayed at the door step to make sure he was safe on his walk across the street. He turned to wave one last time, before he could though, he felt a jolt rip across his body as a semi-truck hit him. He watched her expression. Warm eyes to fearful ones, smiles to shouts, dry eyes to tear filled ones.

"Louis!" She ran across the street, The hair tie holding her hair in the messy bun flew out of the dark locks.

She was by him in an instant, stroking his face and crying his name out. People flooded around him, staring at the distraught girl and the boy who just got hit.

"What the hell are you doing! Call the ambulance..." her usually strong voice cracked as she sobbed.

Faintly he heard the familiar voice of the operator on the other line of a phone. A frantic middle aged man quickly sputtered out the location of the wreck. Then the driver quickly barreled out of the truck.

"Oh my god! I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to!" he said quickly to no one in particular. He began to pace with his hands in his head.

A faint sound of sirens sounded in the distance. Louis slowly pulled his hand out and ran his fingers through Summer's messy hair. Once the sirens came closer, his vision became black.
