"Birthday" I believe it should be a special day in everyone's life because they're born into this wonderful world. There may not be a reason to celebrate as you haven't achieved the milestones of your life. But, you have to celebrate the day as you got an opportunity to live another day and it is an accomplishment of its own   - JAS

Its been a couple of weeks since shanaya accepted Aakash's proposal. She didn't say I love you yet because she thought saying yes meant everything. Aakash thought maybe shanaya is feeling shy and let it go and he was happy that she accepted his proposal. They are talking and chatting whenever is possible and shanaya was giving a missed call to Aakash from her landline whenever she was alone. Aakash is calling her and their love story is going on with excitement to look forward to meeting each other, sharing their daily lives, and many more. Aakash, on the other hand, started feeling disappointed in shanaya because she is never saying I love you back she is just saying me too. He started thinking about what's wrong with her.

Meanwhile a day he is waiting to surprise her came. It's shanaya's birthday today. But he couldn't wish her at 12 am at night because her parents are strict and he cannot call her as she will be in trouble. Aakash is waiting for shanaya to come online meanwhile he started posting various bday posts on her wall. She never came online that night he thought of sleeping and talk to shanaya in the morning. It's her first birthday with him so he already planned a surprise with the help of Bindu. He sent various gifts to Bindu in a post and asked Bindu to give her the next day because Shanaya's birthday came on Sunday unfortunately.

Shanaya woke up with excitement at 12 am because she always loves her birthday. The most disappointing part of her birthday is every year it will be some Hindu festival or a Sunday or a holiday. To date, she celebrated her first birthday with cake other than that her birthday was never special it will be another regular day. Her excitement will never go down even though because she always prays to god make at least one birthday like how she dream it and hopes it will happen soon. This continued till 22 years and she just lost hope that will ever happen. Suddenly her thoughts went to Aakash but sighing she felt bad because it's a Sunday and Aakash is in Bangalore and she realized she is in a long-distance relationship. Thinking all these she looked around and everyone is sleep, silently she drifted off to sleep feeling bad for herself.

The next day morning she woke up and took a shower and wore pajamas as she was sitting at home and no one at least wished her because they think wishing is just formality in the house. She went to the kitchen for breakfast and saw mom cooking and shanaya thought at least her favorite food is available for lunch. With that, she said hi to mom and went to a prayer room where she always vents her feelings silently. After lunch, everyone is taking a nap and shanaya sat in front of a desktop and logging into her account. She found many wishes and greetings from friends and Aakash. She replied to every single wish with a thank you as they remembered her birthday. Then she started chatting with Aakash and told him what she did from the morning and asked him how was his day. He said he wanted to talk to shanaya but she hesitated as everyone is at home. Out of nowhere, she got an idea 💡 She asked Aakash to login to Orkut from his laptop and call her landline. Meanwhile, she turned off the ringer of landline, and as soon as she got call Aakash is talking and shanaya is replying to him in Orkut chat. They both laughed at it and continued to do till 30 minutes later shanaya said she gotta go saying mom is awake and logged out of her account.

The next day as usual shanaya got ready for her college wearing a new red top and blue jeans which she brought for her birthday. She put just a light red lip gloss without makeup and leaving her hair loose and wearing black snickers giving herself a final look in the mirror. Taking her college bag she is out of the home on the way to her bus stop. Shanaya sat on the bus waiting for Bindu's arrival because Aakash mentioned he has a surprise to her and Bindu will give it to her.

She was looking out of window guessing what Aakash might have sent to Bindu? As soon as Bindu came she asked where is my birthday gift? Bindu laughed a little and said "Happy Belated Birthday" and handed me a chocolate bar. Seeing it Shanaya's excitement went out of the window and starred at a chocolate bar for a good 2 minutes and after a sigh, I opened and started eating it. Meanwhile, Bindu is capturing my reaction in her mobile camera and I didn't care anymore. Then suddenly she disturbed me saying Aakash is calling and I spoke to him

Aakash: Hi Shanayaaaa

Shanaya: Hi whats up?

Aakash: *laughing Continuously* Did you like my gift?

Shanaya: *Covering her disappointment* yeah I love the chocolate thank you.

Aakash: Hey why are you replying so formally? Did you expect anything else?

Shanaya: *Angry but not showing in her voice* For the hype you gave I didn't expect it to be this yummy chocolate *sarcastically replying*

Aakash: Hey Sorry, I just wanted to see your reaction and its so funny *still Laughing*

Shanaya: *Still Angrily* Whatever have a good day will talk to later bye. *hang up the phone on him*

At this point, shanaya is beyond pissed because she thought her best friend and boyfriend fooled her successfully and she was angrier with Bindu for sharing her reaction to Aakash. Bindu said she is sorry and gave her a big parcel saying it's for you. Shanaya is angry and said she doesn't want it. Bindu said it is for you to take it or throw it I am not taking it. With no other option left shanaya took the parcel. The from address on the parcel is on a girl's name seeing it shanaya felt jealous but she didn't say a word and thought she should Aakash does he have any past love stories. They reached the college and time went fast and in evening shanaya bunked the drawing class and even Bindu stayed back. Shanaya's anger has cooled down and curiosity took its place about what is in the parcel. She opened the parcel and surprised to see what's in it.

seeing all the gifts above Shanaya was beyond happy because it was the first time she received gifts from someone other than her family. She really liked Aakash's taste in gifts. A special greeting card and writings in it from Aakash made Shanaya's day and also made her fall in love with him a little more.

With a smile on her face, she took the gifts home and told her parents that her friends from college gave her these gifts for a birthday. Also to her surprise, Aakash sent her a cute Nokia phone which she asked Bindu to take to her house for the day. Knowing she got a phone as a birthday gift at home her parents will be beyond furious so she has to leave it with Bindu until she comes up with an option to what to do with it or how to convince her parents. Thinking all these she drifted to deep sleep with excitement and happiness, with a smile on her face after a long time🥱😴
