casually writing this while i have a cold hello how are you

this is v shitty but please understand that i'm not the healthiest person today and i'm slowly dying here like that dead cat the bus passes everyday (it looks like my cat, i'm always scared omfg)

WARNING: last chapter before the epilogue

It has been three weeks since he last saw Luke. He didn't hear a word from the boy and could not catch up with him during or after class. He considered himself a coward by now since he couldn't even bring himself to call someone he barely knew.

Someone he barely knew and somehow lives in his thoughts.

He sat on his couch in front of the TV, American Dad was currently on and Ashton grabbed his phone to check for new texts - there wasn't anything. Calum and Michael went on a holiday, his family was too far so he couldn't visit them. His last option was calling one of his classmates to hang out or he could just go for a walk alone. The last option sounded better.

He got up and grabbed his coat and getting out of the house. He had his wallet and phone, and his keys. Ashton got out of the building and was looking down, that led him to go against someone that soon groaned in pain.

''Shit, sorry- oh hey Luke.'' Ashton said, his face going red ''Did I hurt you?''

''Just a bit but it's going away.'' The blue eyed boy answered.

''Okay... So I'll be going and-''

''I um, I was actually here to see you.'' Luke looked down, his cheeks going red in embarassment.

Ashton smiled fondly and bit his lip ''Oh really?''

''H-Hum yeah.'' Luke said and got closer to Ashton ''I guess I just missed you? I don't know but I had to see you an-and I just- God don't make me explain this.''

''I missed you too.'' Luke lifted his head up and stared at Ashton's hazel eyes. Both boys were smiling and blushing but stayed silent for a while ''I um- I was just going to get a coffee or something, do you want to come with me?''

Luke smirked ''Like a date?''

The other boy got flustered and started coughing awkwardly. Yes, he was indirectly asking Luke on a date but he didn't say anything because he might have gotten rejected. He has a chance with Luke right? There is always a chance.

''If you want to.''

Luke chuckled ''Let's go then.''

They walked side by side to the café that was just down the road. Their hands brushed against each other until Ashton got sick of it and linked their pinkies. Luke smiled at him and kissed his cheek, making the other boy blush. Luke opened the door for Ashton and they both got in immideatly sitting on an empty table.

The place was mostly brown, the smell of coffee was in the air and it was warm inside. Luke sat in front of Ashton and Ashton stared at him when he was looking outside. Everything in that image was perfect. His pink limps, his rosy cheeks, the tattooed arms, his pale skin... just everything. He took out his phone and opened the camera app, snapping a picture of Luke. The camera made a sound and Luke took his attention from the outside and stared at Ashton.

''Did you just take a picture of me?'' Luke asked with a fond smile.

''W-What? I-'' Ashton sighed ''Yeah I did. You just looked so preacious and I had but if you want i ca-''

''Keep it.'' Luke assured him ''It will be a way for you to miss me less.''

Ashton laughed ''Okay. Can I ask you something?''

''Yeah sure.''

''Why do you uh- why do you have so many tattoos? It's okay if you don't want to tell me because it's kinda personal.''

''It's because I like.'' Luke said ''I like to see it as a way of showing my colours''

''I think they're beautiful.'' Ashton sincerely said, not keeping his eyes off of Luke's face. The other boy looked down and blushed, whispering a thank you.

The waiter came and the boys ordered their stuff. When it came they started to drink and eat, none of them talking. It was a comfortable silence so everything was okay.

''You know um, I loved that you painted me on the art room.'' Luke said taking a sip of his coffee (he didn't really like tea).

''What? You saw it?''

''Yeah, yeah I did.'' Luke said ''I followed you on instagram a few weeks ago and then you posted that picture of me - the description was beautiful by the way - and I liked the fact that you found a way of showing me something you enjoy doing and at the same time you let me know more about you.''

''I would love to find out more about you.''

''If you ask something I will answer truthfully, promise.'' Luke put his hand where his heart his and they laughed.

They sat there for a while just watching the snow falling outside, they could not leave yet - not when everything was going to perfect. Their hands were interwined under the table and soon Luke got up from his seat and sat next to Ashton, cuddling him. Ashton felt butterflies on his stomach and made Luke sit on his lap holding him by his waist.

''Would it be okay if I kissed you now?'' Luke asked lifting his head up, his lips hovered over Ashton's and the other boy had to control himself to not jump.

''More than okay, actually.''

And it happened.

Luke placed his lips on Ashton's and they started moving. It was slow and passionate, sweet and caring. To them it was everything they have ever wanted.

Ashton kissed Luke's hair and whispered on his ear ''You're my inspiration, Luke.''

Luke smiled fondly and pressed a kiss to Ashton's neck ''You're my inspiration too, Ashton.''

Ashton smiled and tightened his arms around the boy in an attempt to pull him closer (if that was even possible), because that was Luke's way of saying I Love You Too.
