Kitchen

In order to figure out how to help her Parents. Maybe she could start small by helping Tyler. It's a small, feeble plan. Maybe it just might work.

Tyler's house is proven to be quite a distance away from her parents. The color that flooded her when she heard them fighting had faded. The hurricane of fear dulling as it becomes a small ache in her fast paced heart.

Sometimes we all need a rainbow to calm our fears. In that moment, the rainbow was Josse's mind. She bounced a little in her seat of his car. A single question burning to be asked. When a question needs an answer, you ask it. It's only logical right? That's exactly how Josse felt. So, like anyone. She asked Tyler,

"Are you in love?" It's such a blunt way to put a tricky question and still doesn't make it easier to answer. One wrong move and Tyler would share more than he intended to.

"Yeah Josse. Yeah I am." He spoke to the girl.

Tyler did love someone. He didn't want to lie to Josse. He felt his nerves catching up with him as he realized what sentence may, and possibly will, come next. Of course, he was right and moments later Josse asks another question.

"What does it feel like?" Josse whispered. She wanted to know how Troye should feel about Connor. Though, she'd never admit that to Tyler.

Of course Tyler hesitates to answer this question. Then again, who's Josse gonna tell?

"Remember when we spoke about this Josse?" He asked helpfully as he waited for the light to turn green. Tyler felt guilty for trying to deprive her of an answer to a very important question.

Josse knew this was a subject change. I can see the colors of guilt. The all too familiar deep shade of purple feeling of guilt was hung in the air, told Josse Tyler truly was trying to avoid her intrusive question.

Perhaps I went to personal with that one. Josse thought to herself as she decided how to ask him again. Troye didn't seem to want to talk to Connor. Just then a small spark in her mind rose from the emptiness of her thoughts. Alright all ask him that.

"Do they love you back?" Josse Questioned man, her inquisitive eyes getting brighter with Curiosity. Every time Josse's eyes brightened, Tyler's face grew another shade of red.

Thankfully for Tyler, and frustratingly for Josse, He had pulled into the driveway to his home. He dragged out a long sigh as he turned off the car.

Once they were both out, Josse smiled at the chilly air as Tyler began to unlock the door. A small reminder came to him as he stepped through the door way, Marcus is coming over.

"Hey Josse? Just telling you, Marcus is coming over." Tyler said looking over his shoulder as he set his keys in the kitchen.

Who's Marcus? She wanted to ask as she stayed quiet. She stepped into his home, it was colorful, yet calm. Safety could be found it the balanced mix of bright and plain colors.

She walked to a beige couch, it was long and leather. She sat down sighing as she looked at the clock 3pm huh. So much had happened in such a small span of time. Not to mention the ache of Josse's heart when she remembers Alyssa.

Tyler follows her to his living room to find her sitting on his couch. She looks so distant, as if she's off in her own forest of thoughts. Tyler smiles as he watches the little girl as her face portrays someone in a daze. He laughs softly before sitting down too.

"It'll be okay." Tyler said, snapping Josse out of her mind.

"Thanks for taking me away." It's all Josse felt like saying.

Tyler sighed into his hands before remembering he needed to clean the kitchen before Marcus arrived. Better change too. He thought to himself as he remembered the flour he got all over himself earlier at Troye's home.

"I'm gonna go clean the kitchen, feel free to explore Josse." Tyler explained to her as he got up. She stayed quiet as she slipped into her own little world again. Funny how she does that.

Tyler begins to pick up the mess in the kitchen, he feels as if the place must be perfect to impress Marcus. Expectations is what he felt. Tyler felt confined to a standard. A standard of cleanliness.

He was wiping the counters when he felt dizzy. I just need to lie down, I'll be okay. Tyler said to himself as he forgot the task at hand. He was so nervous about why he felt dizzy that he had forgotten to change clothes too.

He just walked to the opposite end of where Josse had a stuffed lion out on and closed his eyes. He didn't even bother to tell Josse of his choice to sleep. He just slept.

Josse had found a small toy lion. She lifted it's paw to see neat handwriting and a small sticker. Phil's lion. Is all the paw of the worn down patches of the toy lion had said.

Josse smiled remembering Phil. It's hard to forget his accent. Hard to forget anyone for Josse. Everyone she meets means a lot. I've never met someone unimportant before. It's true, Josse always sees the good in everyone.

Being positive about people has its faults, such as, ignoring theirs. Makes you quite a naive person. Optimism is wonderful and dangerous. Just depends on your views.

Josse looks over to Tyler as his breathing begins to get slower and deeper. He's falling asleep. Josse made a mental note of this just encase. She didn't mind the fact that the lavender haired boy slept. She just smiled a little as she got up and went to put Phil's lion back where she had originally found him.

She walked into the kitchen to put away the cleaning wipes she noticed that Tyler had left out. Didn't even put them away he's so absentminded. She smiled to herself as she walked on.

She expected to hear the calming waves of silence as Tyler slept with his head on the armrest and a blanket covering him, Josse did not expect that while she was playing with some play-doh, someone knocked on the door.

Josse froze, for a moment unsure of the foreign sound. Till she heard it again. Every time the person would quietly knock three times. *Tap, taptap* the steady way the person at the door waited a little before repeating the pattern, was calming.

Josse, being the naive five year old she is, opened the large door. Just a little bit to look at who exactly was knocking at Tyler's door. Must be Marcus. Right?
