Hard to Ask for Help
In my silent doubts, I dwell
Where pride and fear and demons swell With shoulders burdened by a heavy load
It's hard to ask for help along this road
A solitary heart, a stoic face
Concealing pain in a secret place
I long for solace in a world so vast,
How to seek a hand for help at last?
For vulnerability is a daunting task
To shatter walls in my heart, that mask
Yet deep within, a whisper speaks
"In seeking aid, find what you seek"
It's hard to ask for help; truth be told
For fear of weakness or anger's scold
So unto myself I bear this load
And walk lonely down this empty road
One day, I may find a way
Reach out for aid along the way
For strength is found in shared humanity
In reaching out, we find our sanity
No shame in saying, "I can't do it all"
To ask assistance before we fall
For in our unity, we find grace
A helping hand, a smiling face
So let us break the chains of pride
And let someone out there be our guide
For in the asking, strength is shown
Together, we are not alone
