Chapter 12: Titan's Armor
Luz was now sitting down with King, or rather Red King in her arms.
Red King sniffled. "...you're n-not really my Mama...a-are you...?"
Luz's heart broke before she nodded. "I...I AM your mom, just n-not from this world...I'm sorry for lying to you, King...I just-"
"Y-You wanted to make me feel b-better before telling me the truth." Red King said with a nod. "I-It's what my Mama would've done."
Luz hugged Red King tightly, rubbing his back. "I'm still so sorry...I could've given you false hope...I-I guess I also miss my King."
Red King hugged back, still feeling safe in his other mother's arms. "What happened...?"
"Someone really bad hurt him." Luz explained. "I'm...I'm scared..."
"But you're so brave! Or my Mama is!"
"Well, even brave people get scared." Luz said with a light smile.
Red King smiled back and cuddled into her arms. "Y-You're just like my Mama...I'm sorry about other me. I hope he feels better."
Luz nodded and kissed Red King's forehead. "And I hope you find other me. I know she misses you very much." She said.
She knew that wasn't completely the truth...but she KNEW that deep down, the Luz inside Silver Soldier was still in there. And most definitely missed her King more than anything else.
The others watched the scene, with Vee wiping her eyes. "T-That's so sweet...!"
Red Vee nodded, looking at her technical twin despite said twin being in a different form. "R-Right?"
Marcy was just squealing before hugging Anne. "We should adopt!!!"
Anne's eyes widened and her cheeks went red. She laughed nervously. "U-Uhhh, let's not t-think about kids yet, h-huh?"
"Why? You were married." Sasha smirked.
"NO, NO, NO! PAST LIVES WERE MARRIED!" Anne exclaimed.
Sasha chuckled to herself. "Oh, face it, you two are GOING to get married. We all know it's gonna happen."
Marcy and Anne looked at each other. Yeah, she was definitely right about them getting married.
Hunter then smirked with Sasha before looking at Red Guard, who was being bandaged by Emira. "Okay, Red. We're gonna need a plan. It's definite Dalos or whatever the heck her name is now followed us here."
"She calls herself Titaness." Red Guard said.
Vee blinked before her eyes widened. "Ohhh! Cause she's on the level of a Titan, I get it now!"
Red Guard chuckled. "I dunno, feels like a mouthful to me. But hey, that's just cause I hate their guts."
Marcy then stepped forward. "But Hunter does have a point. Right now, we're sitting frogs unable to hop away from their strike." She then hummed. "Well, if my theory from earlier is correct, Past Me and Past Anne can't fight back against Belos' magic in the Hivemind...but maybe one of us can?"
"What are you saying?" Kikimora asked, sitting beside Eda and Raine.
"I'm saying that maybe we can remake the device Anne used to break into the Hivemind the first time and fight back against Belos inside! Maybe even kick him out!" Marcy said.
Hunter hummed. "Well, we'd need to send our strongest to deal with Belos. He's the most powerful sorcerer in The Boiling Isles."
"Wait...what about Luz and I?" Anne asked. "I defeated The Core's hivemind once! And Luz beat Belos! I think we could manage!"
Red Guard hummed. "Not a bad idea. But there's a problem. The Titaness is too powerful, and we'd need to get close to her or at least be in range long enough for the device to work. And distracting her definitely's not gonna work with her level of power right now."
"She could and nearly did obliterate us all with one blast. We need something that can withstand her magic." Hunter said. "Maybe an artifact?"
Red Vee and Vee tried to think before they both sighed, unable to come up with anything. What kind of artifact or mystic weapon could stop THAT?
Red Guard, on the other hand, was a little more successful in thinking. "I may have one."
Sasha turned. "Well, please spit it out. I'd rather go in with a proper plan this time."
"First of all, ouch." Red Guard said. "And second of all? My version of The Boiling Isles might have something...The Titan's Armor."
"Titan's Armor?" They all said in unison, all except Kikimora.
Kikimora stood from her seat. "The most powerful and sought for artifact in all of history in The Demon Realm." She spun around her finger, using bits of illusion magic to tell the tale.
They took form as constellations almost, showing MULTIPLE Titans roaming the empty Demon Realm and using their magic. "In ancient times, there was rumored to be an entire race of Titans that once roamed our world. One of these Titans created special armor for itself."
And like she said, it showed a Titan becoming covered in shiny golden armor. But that's when another Titan, who looked too similar to THE Titan started fighting it.
"The armor was so powerful that it could withstand ALL dark magic. But its creator could not bring themselves to use it to harm their attackers. They let themselves fall. Since then, their armor shrunk and has remained hidden for millennia." Kikimora said.
Hunter hummed. "Lemme guess. The Titan that attacked the armor's maker turned out to be THE Titan?"
"You are correct." Kikimora said. "But that is all the stories tell. Gods fighting each other."
Marcy's eyes were starry and she quickly wrote down the entire story. Sasha scratched her chin a bit before Anne spoke up. "Wait, if this armor is so powerful and so sought out for, why hasn't anyone gotten it yet?"
Red Guard chuckled. "Well...about that...no one's...ever succeeded in trying to get it...a lot of them die."
Sasha's eyes widened. "Say what?"
Anne blinked. "Really feel like I should've seen that coming."
"The place where it's at has been discovered, but never infiltrated. There's a barrier around it, not to mention armies of guardians. Anyone evil has died trying to get it and anyone good is kicked out and banned."
Marcy blinked. "Oh! That doesn't sound so bad-"
"And by banned, I mean they are physically unable to get the armor because of the leading guardian." Red Guard said. "He is rumored to be able to break every bone in your body."
Marcy gulped. "I retract my previous statement."
"Then this seems impossible." Vee said with a sigh.
Kiki stepped forward. "Not exactly. There were few cases of the Leading Guardian being convinced to give the armor. But usually? They don't take the armor or the armor itself is too much power."
Anne tilted her head. "Wait, whaddya mean by don't take it?"
"Some of those people decided the armor wasn't worth it. And perhaps realized there was a good reason it was so protected." Kikimora said. "If you are able to convince the guardians that our cause is worth using it, then perhaps we will be able to beat this Titaness."
Hunter sighed. "Well, we've faced all kinds of deadly threats and evil gods. This is no sweat."
Luz then walked over, holding Red King. "Then? Let's do this."
Anne smirked and nodded. "Heck yeah!"
"Then we don't have a moment to waste!" Marcy said, her eyes and hair glowing green in determination.
Hunter looked at Red Guard. "You should probably stay. If you come with, you could die."
Red Guard chuckled before handing over Silver Soldier's staff. "Good idea. Use this. It will take you there. And believe me, just think about finding the armor and it'll take you."
Hunter whistled, impressed.
Luz then set down Red King. "Be good for your uncle, okay?"
Red King hugged her one last time. "Be careful, Other Mama."
Luz hugged back, smiling softly. "I will."
That's when The Three Stars and The Witches all flew out, with Hunter thrusting Silver Soldier's staff forward and creating a portal that they all went through.
