" You've gathered quite an interesting set of people here, where did you even find them?", I asked Kyle while gathering some blankets for everyone. " It feels like they found me to be honest. I was trying to get around back on Astralda and I got lost in that damn palace and Gaiah found me and helped me out. He showed me the ropes as to how they got around and one day the conversation came up about where I came from and what I was doing there.

My instincts were telling me I could trust him so I told him everything. Luckily, he was already putting together a team to take down Alycone. He introduced me to everyone and we started planning. I told them about you, told them you were the chosen one. But Francis just knows that you are the key to everything. You started this and you're the only one that can end it."

I sighed because Kyle reminded me of my responsibilities "Kyle I have no idea what I'm doing, everything is just a disaster right now."

" Hey, she didn't deserve you." Kyle told me sympathetically. Stopping to look into my eyes. He looked loss in thought as if he was experiencing traumatic flashbacks and as fast as that look came, it went.We've got you and soon you'll hear the plan we came up with okay. Just breathe."

I inhaled and exhaled dramatically until I felt calm enough to speak again. I then cleared my throat and looked at him. " What?" He asked me because I was staring at him too hard.

" You know what", I said, teasing him, moving my eyebrows.

"Francis", he said, stressing my name.

"Kyle", I said, doing the same.

"Dude what are you talking about? "he said

" I saw the way you were looking at that quiet girl, what's her name again?", I said with a slight smile, I like that this was happening. He seems to be moving on from Clair. "Who Dawn, pfft no, gosh no. She's sweet and very cute, and has the most adorable smile ever. But she's not my type. I like my girls a little bit crazy in the head if you know what I mean." He laughed.

I looked at him knowingly. "You know what, I am not even going to comment on that". I said.

"Good, now let's go", he said as he finished gathering the last blanket.

We carried the blankets and some pillows into the living room when I saw Dawn carrying some refreshments from the kitchen. " Hey Dawn" I called. "Hi, Francis, '' she answered. I turned around and looked at Kyle. "Don't even", he said. "What, I didn't say anything," I said laughing.

Once we were all seated. Kyle started speaking. "Okay so you all know Fran here activated our broken gene when he locked lips with the witch whose name we do not mention. We glowed up and the world turned upside down. Alycone wants to destroy Ogore Thelea and Queen Fae so they will get ultimate power and reign over every living thing. What people don't know is that they want to take out Queen Eudoxia too, leaving them with full control. They are planning to attack tomorrow morning so we need to be ready.

Okay so here's the game plan. So the goal is to take out King Maximus and his family. We don't want to kill everyone from Alycone because some people from there are actually innocent in all of this and mean well". He said, looking at Fray.

"So Francis and I will sneak into the palace and do our thing while the rest of you cause a distraction at the front. This will hopefully lead all the guards or majority of the guards away from the Palace. We have a man on the inside who will be watching the cameras, he's our eyes and ears.

You guys know what to do already, create havoc on their ass. Francis, you're gonna teleport us inside and we'll find King Maximus and show him a peace of our mind. I've studied every corner of the palace and I know it like the back of my hands but here are the blueprints. Learn the ins and outs of the palace in case something happens to me, nd if anything does happen to me then you don't play hero you finish this. You hear me?".

" Like hell I am. I'm not leaving you in there. I brought you here and I'm not leaving without you." "Fran you need to stop saying that, yes you brought me here but this was already my future. Even if you didn't bring me here I was going to reach here eventually. This is my destiny and we're prepared to die for it. For you."

I looked around the room and realized everyone had a determined look on their face and they were all nodding in agreement. "Ky-", I started but he cut me off. "It's already been decided, we leave in four hours, get some sleep, you'll need it." He said getting up and walking in my room. He stops for a split second to look at Dawn before continuing. I sighed at what he said and shook my head. I guess he has made up his mind. I thought deeply on what he said and as much as I hate to admit it he's right. I must make the hard choice for both of us. He's done his part, it's time I did mine.

I went outside to look at the moon, it's full tonight. This reminds me of Z and that night we made out, talking about our deepest secrets and our future. I can't believe how naive I was. It made me angry. I took another deep breath and went back inside for a bottle of wine and a glass to drink.

It was the break of dawn when I felt a tap on my cheeks, I woke up to the sight of Kyle standing over me. I realized that I slept outside last night. Shit! That has not happened since my first session with my therapist.

" Francis, get up man. This is not like you", he said, pulling me from the chair. Any sleepiness in my eyes despaired immediately. Kyle opened his mouth to lecture me but he stopped at the sight of Dawn. She was standing at the glass door, looking at him. He visibly relaxed as his look of concern shifted to one of desire. He folded his fist, closed his eyes and took a deep breath as if calming himself. He looked at her for what felt like minutes before he slowly took his eyes off her and looked at me, the look in his eyes changed. He now looked serious. "We'll talk ". He said going around me.

I turned my body fully and stood up straighter to see everyone staring at me. "It's time to go", Kyle called after me. I went inside and everyone was ready to go. "Give me a minute", I said to no one in particular . I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror, I looked like a mess. I washed my face and gave myself a pep talk. I needed to get myself together. We were in a war and here I was feeling sorry for myself.

After a few minutes I went into the living room where everyone was waiting on me. "You ready?", Blake asked. "I was born ready," I answered. "Really?", asked Fray excitedly. "No". Cinco laughed at the disappointment on Fray's face. "Shut up Cinco", she cried. "Francis". Kyle said. I looked at him and I knew it was time. This was it. The moment that would go down in the history books. I felt a sudden feeling Of accomplishment, a part of me was proud of myself for being a part of this and especially Kyle who became so mature and so strong. And I'm not talking about physically even though there's that too. I was snapped out of thoughts when Blake touched my shoulder giving me the signal to open the portal. I did so and we walked through.

We walked through the portal and arrived at a broken down shed in Alycone.

"Gaiah, make the earthquakes and break the dam, Aquata, direct the water to where the guards are, knock them out. After which Fray will take out anyone left with some tornadoes. Dawn, Blake and Cinco are responsible for watching their backs. Fran and I will then sneak in through the back. Kyle recited the plan one last time. Everyone nodded and we went our separate ways.

Kyle and I started walking towards the back of the palace when some guards saw us. Plants came out of nowhere as Kyle markings started glowing green. He held his hand towards the men and the plants wrapped around their necks. "Go Francis!", he shouted as the guards held their necks trying to get free. I hesitated but started running towards the back entrance. I knew Kyle could handle himself but I still prayed that he would be okay.

I reached at the door, opened it and peeked through. I went inside and started heading to King Maximus's Wing. Just then I saw about two dozen guards running coming my way. I immediately hid before they could see me. "There's a freaking iceberg outside, and a-". The voice didn't finish when the earth started shaking violently. "Go, Go, Go", one of the men shouted. Thank you guys, I thought smiling.

Once they were gone I came out and continued heading towards the Wing. I finally reached it when I saw King Maximus's wife. "Where's Maximus?", I asked. She jumped at the sound of my voice. She turned around and realization came to her eyes. "Well, well, well if it isn't the chosen one, how does it feel to know you're going to die today?". She asked with that cold but composed voice of hers.

"I don't know, why don't you ask yourself?". I replied.

She grabbed a sword nearby and got in position to fight. I shook my head and teleported behind her. "Boo", I whispered in her ear. She quickly turned around and tried stabbing me but I quickly dodged it and teleported again. " We can do this all day, or you can tell me where he is".

"I'd rather die".

I laughed at how foolish she was. "As you wish".

I blasted the sword out of her hand and quickly grabbed another one from the floor. She held her hand up in defeat. "Okay, I give up". I started lowering my sword only for her to grab a small knife from her waist and charge at me. I raised the sword in my hand and plunged the sword into her, or so I thought.

I didn't hear the person screaming at me telling me to stop before it was too late. Time seemed to slow down as it happened. Z jumped in front of the sword as I was about to slay her mother. I felt my heart stop when I realized. Her hair was braided into one and it went down her back and she was in a long floral dress. Looking at her made all the memories from the other day come back to me.

I know I hated her. What she had done to me should have been known as " unforgivable". I was her soulmate, I loved her and I honestly didn't want any harm to come her way. I knew that if I had to, I would've been willing to throw myself into the fire for her. However, I was the only one thinking so. She never thought of me like that, no not once. I was just a game. Some hurdle for her to cross so she can get her revenge and give her father power. What new beginning was I even talking about, she wasn't my new beginning. More like a new end. I felt like I would never love again because of her and if she were to die at any moment I wouldn't care.

All my life I had been a good fighter no great even. However when I saw him, knowing what I did he became my greatest distraction. I couldn't fight, knowing full well that I was in the middle of a battle. That even the slightest second could cause the loss of my life but I just knew somewhere deep inside me that a life without him was worth losing, I never understood why my mother gave her life up for the sake of my dad when I was little but now that I'm in this situation. I understand. My mother would've never been happy when the Belaxtrians took his life, my biological dad. I felt my sword slip from me as I slowly fell to the hard, cold ground as my consciousness slowly slipped away into nothingness.

I take back what I said. I don't hate her. I was just angry at the fact that she would do that to me. I didn't want this to happen. I would rather it happen to me, I can't lose her. I was scared that this would be our last moment together. I quickly ran to her body as she plummeted to the ground. I took up her body with great speed and teleported us to a  healer's house that Kyle told me about some time ago, some story about Dawn hurting herself. I quickly laid her on the bed, her body still and cold.
