Francis

The bed was soft as I laid on it, flat on my back, my head turned to the side looking out the window at the sunrise. As I laid here I thought about all the events that had happened throughout the course of yesterday. I can't believe Lyra betrayed me. She was the first girl that I ever loved, I mean we're soulmates. How could she do that, doesn't she know how much I love her. A part of me wanted to forgive her, a part of me was hoping, praying that she had an explanation for this. The only thought that came to me was to confront her, which I plan to do but not yet let's wait a little first.

I closed the book I had been reading for about an hour, trying to clear my mind when I heard the sound of my door knocking. I was still in Astralda because Kyle told me to stay awhile for something. I didn't know what it was yet. I got up to walk to the door to open it however when it opened the same beautiful face of betrayal looked at me.

" Hello Cass, I just heard that you came here. So I wanted to visit you", she said, making her way into the room I didn't invite her into.

"Hello Lyra, I didn't think the news would reach you so late", I said in a not so welcoming tone. She looked a little confused as to why I was speaking so harshly to her.

" It didn't but I had things to do, I couldn't get to you", she said walking up to me as I walked back until my body reached the bed. I fell on it and she climbed over me, hands touching my face. If it was before I found out she betrayed me I would be elated for this encounter but now I wasn't. I quickly grabbed her hand that was now going down my chest to my area.

I flipped her over so we switched positions and placed my knee between her legs. I went closer to her lips to kiss it with anger and bit her lips until it bled which just made her moan. Then I moved to her ears to whisper in a cruel unaffectionate tone, as if I was talking to a long time enemy.

" Cut the crap Lyra, and get out. I know what you did, you lying, betraying, hypocritical bitch". I said as I grabbed her hand and dragged her up off the bed and pushed her to the door with force, her back slammed against it. She looked at me with shock. Then recognition came to her eyes. Then she started explaining.

"I'm sorry Cass, I didn't mean to do that to you. I-". I stopped her to say.

" Just stop talking, Lyra, I don't want to hear another word from your lying lips. I heard what you want to do to me and my people and I'm no longer sorry for hurting you in any way. Get out of my life and by the way it's no longer Cass or Caspian to you its Francis, better yet don't say my name at all. You said you'll be ready at dawn, well so will I and best believe that I will not show any mercy to you or your people".

I know I said I would hear her out but as soon as I saw her face I felt a rage I've never felt before and it was consuming me.

I shoved her out the door and shut it in her face. She stood outside my door for about four minutes knocking and pleading to talk but I wouldn't. At some point I wanted to talk to her and tell her I forgave her but then I remembered what she had done and said and I became firm in my choice again. After she left, I teleported to the room that Kyle was in and we began to talk after which he told me all about king Maximus' plan to overthrow Bellatrix V using me and eventually getting ultimate power from the source, Queen Eudoxia. He gave me a small book with a chain around it. I placed it around my neck to wear. He called it a " Source tale", telling me it will help in the battle. I didn't understand how but he told me I would understand when the time is right.

I was walking around the castle doing some research on the interior of it to see how to navigate here by myself when I heard a voice behind me.

" Francis, my boy, how are you?".

" If there is anything, you must know your majesty, It's the affairs of your palace and the people inside it. You know how I am". He laughed boisterously.

"I see you are smart Francis. However, what you aren't smart about is not joining me. I heard from my daughter that you know our plans to gain power and overthrow Beatrix V". I scoff at his words knowing that he would never tell me the full truth.

" It would mean a lot to Lyra after all ,they had a hand in the death of her true parents".

" If you are here to persuade me to join you in killing you can stop wasting your breath. I know about your plan to kill my people, use me to overthrow Beatrix V and eventually kill me while you gain power to the source". I turned to look him in the eye.

" It will never work". I turned my back to him as I walked away.

I hurriedly went back to Kyle's room to tell him we had to leave when I saw him packing a bag. He turned around and looked at me then went back to packing. "Francis we have to go, your crazy father in law is putting the palace on lock down. Looks like he's trying to hold us captive. I have a few friends that are willing to join the fight with us so you need to get us out of here ASAP."

"Trying to hold us captive, he does know that I have teleportation powers right? And he's not my father in law".

"Yes but my friend says he is about to release a gas on our floor that will knock us out. We have to go now", he shouted.

"Okay okay, lets go, where are your friends?"

"Right here", I heard a voice behind me answer. I turned around to see a group of people piling at the door with a scared yet determined look on their face. "The gas has been released. It's now or never", the guy said.

"Okay get in and close the door". Kyle replied.

After everyone was inside the room I opened a portal and everyone quickly went through. Kyle and I were the last ones left to go through when we heard a banging on the door. "Kyle go go go!". I shouted. He went in and I jumped in after him just in time as the men broke down the door.

The portal led us to a random place in my world which just happens to be the square of the city I lived in. I looked around to see nothing, which was odd as it normally packed with people doing anything and everything imaginable.

I walked to a shop which was usually packed with people only to see nothing, however everything was in place. This is definitely strange. I teleported to the local hospital, it must have people. However when I reached, no one. Where could everyone have gone? I looked upon the floor and a pink teddy bear with the name " Mr. Colors" written on it. Maybe it belonged to a little girl.

I knew that the war was going on but I still expected to see people, there aren't even any bodies to indicate that they died. Where the hell is everyone? I took up the doll and teleported back to the city square where Kyle and his friends were. Everyone looked around the place in excitement and confusion as the place looked different from their world but the place was empty. They had a bunch of questions to ask however I had little to no answers to all the unexpected ones they asked.

"Where is everyone?", Kyle asked. "That's the million dollar question", I answered. " I teleported to a few places and it was completely empty, there weren't even any dead bodies. It was like no one was there to begin with, they just vanished". I turned to look at each one of them to see their reaction and then I said to them " Well there is no use staying here. Let's go".

They nodded in agreement. About twenty minutes after we all ended up in my apartment everyone started introducing themselves and making themselves at home. We were all seated in my living room, this was actually the first time my house had ever been this full, probably because I don't know a lot of people and Kyle is basically my only friend. Everyone was all talking at once . When a girl with blue hair done in a ponytail suddenly stands up. .

" Shut up! We're all gonna get the chance to speak. This is not how we behave in front of people, especially ones we just met", immediately everyone quieted down. " Good now, I'm gonna start with myself. . Hello nice to meet you Francis, my name is Aquata I'm from Merope'',she immediately sat at my acknowledgement. Next to her was a young man with whitish gray hair, who appeared out of nowhere and immediately began speaking.

This sudden appearance of his would have startled me, but it didn't because I had spotted him previously.''' I'm Evile to the ladies, men call me Cinco, I'm from Bellatrix V. I don't really like introducing myself to men but if it's women I don't have a problem", the woman next to him scoffed at his words and dragged him to the seat after which she stood up." I'm Fray from Alycone. I saw you there a lot before you even knew I existed, I was one of the attendants well more like a spy. I knew you were special the moment I saw you "Other-worlder", her words reminded me of Lyra and I became a bit angered and uncomfortable. "Shut up and stop creeping out the poor guy Fray, anyways, I'm Gaiah", a man who had brown hair and a strong structure said seated with one leg crossed over the other. " I'm from Porphyrion".

Out of nowhere a person came out of the kitchen with a block of ice in a cup, " Guys look at this cool thing I found in the kitchen. It makes ice, kinda like I do", what the heck I thought. I didn't recognize he was here. Everyone turned to see who it was, then Aquata said "oh this is Blake, he's from Jilnop. You could say he loves ice", she said shyly while blushing a little. Blake then rubbed the back of his neck nervously, " Stop staring at me, it's a bit awkward. Look at Dawn, you guys always seem to forget her". He said sitting down.

I turned my head to see a person looking at my bookshelf with interest, ok I didn't notice her either. I really need to work on my awareness. Dawn turns around at the sudden shift of attention and lets go of a book on my bookshelf." Hi, I'm Dawn. I'm from Avermore", she said softly while looking down on her feet. Immediately, Kyle jumps into action coming to Dawn's side to lift her head to look her in the eye and said softly to her "What did I tell you Dawn you need to be more brave".

"I know, I'm sorry. I will try". She replies blushing, Kyle turns to me "Sorry Dawn can be a bit shy".

"I can see that", I said, looking at their interaction suspiciously. I turned my head away from them while reaching forward for the television remote.

"Warning ,Warning ,People are going missing please lock yourselves indoors for protection", this was the only message being broadcasted on the television regardless of what channel I went on..

"Is it supposed to look like this?", asked Blake .

"No", I said in confusion, not really responding quickly, tearing my eyes slowly off the television. "Where is everyone?", Aquata asked. I shift my attention to the remote to shut off the television. What is up with everyone asking the same questions every few minutes.

"Where we all think they might be". Kyle responded. He must have taken note of my annoyance.

"What do we do next?", Dawn said in a very quiet tone to Kyle. I guess that was for his ears but everyone heard turning to look at Kyle.

"We plan to fight ", was all he responded.
