Francis

It has been over a week since Lyra and I have been in Ogore Thelea and we have been having so much fun here. I got to know more about Lyra, such as her favorite food, and why this world seemed familiar to her. Apparently she unlocked a memory. She also learned things about me like my past where I was an orphan who was abandoned near a ditch close to Mystical Forest and was found on the last day of December. It was the day they gave me as my birthday. I got to know more about her and because of this I think that the voice was right to lead me here. This trip was worth it.

I sat in front of the television eating a sandwich and drinking a smoothie while Z sat across from me looking at some books. When the news suddenly came on. " Welcome to Worldly News. I'm Daniella Harris. Today it is being reported worldwide that there has been a fright globally where people have been showing up with random symptoms of things they call " Source Pox", things that seem to be powers. People have also been experiencing changes to their physical looks and structure which have been a strange phenomenon to the science community. Studies are currently happening. Now I have with me me William Tucker who was a victim of this fright. "William Tucker please explain what has been happening to you".

What the heck, I didn't think it would take this long to make the news. I mean I have been here a week and some days and this is the first time I have heard of this. I thought.

" I was shocked when it first happened to me, one moment I was taking a shit and the next, I was feeling a burning sensation, my head was buzzing and I was out cold like my neighbor's light bulb last week when the light company came to my apartment block. When I awoke I was shocked to see that I looked way different. I lost some weight and even my eye color changed and strange small markings started appearing and everyday the changes became worse. The next day I discovered that I could move water. I thought I was crazy so I was planning on selling everything and moving myself into an asylum. Long story short, I found out that I'm not the only crazy one, there is a pandemic of Mad people".

Ok what is with that News Report. I have had enough of this. I got up, shut off the television and went to my room to gather my clothes to take with me. Call me selfish but I was angry because everyone's powers were now activated so it would mean that I would now have to do something about it. I have to meet up with Queen Faeryn and the council which means that I won't be able to see Z for a while and all I wanted was a little bit more time with my soulmate.

I hopped in the shower and drew the clean transparent curtain then turned on the water. While the steam went up unto the curtain, I was humming a tune that came to mind as the water fell onto my skin and off. Then I heard a push to the door, What was that I thought as I stopped. Next thing I heard were clothes falling. Ok what was going on?. I opened the curtains to see Lyra clothes falling on the floor.

" Cass, is there room for one more".

" Lyra, what are you doing? Stop, get out". I said as I grabbed the towel and wrapped it around myself.

" Why Cass?".

"Get out Lyra", I shouted at her harshly. She looked embarrassed and bent down to grab her clothes and left in a hurry.

I hurried and got dressed and ran after her. I caught up to her and grabbed her upper arm, she swung to me with tears in her eyes. I hated to see them but I had to speak with her.

" I'm sorry about shouting at you but I had to make you listen, Gosh all I seem to do nowadays is make you angry or sad".

" Shut up Francis".

"No Lyra I can't shut up. I have to speak with you".

" I don't want to talk to you Francis".

"So it's Francis now, no more Cass". She tried to pull her hand away from me but I held on tighter. " Come with me, let's sit and talk".

" No I don't want to talk", tears were pooling in her eyes.

" Please", I said she started to cave and then reluctantly she agreed. I led her to the balcony of my apartment and we began to talk.

" I don't want you ever doing that again". I said looking at her as she gazed off down on the world below, People going all about their lives, Work, play, everything.

"Doing what Francis?".

" Coming unto me like that". She looked down with embarrassment and replied. " Ok you know what Francis, I'm sorry. You had just been so nice to me and for the first time in my life, I felt different with you and I thought that I should repay you for all you have done for me from then on to now".

"No lyra", I said, turning her face to me. "I don't ever want to hear that from you again, you owe me nothing, all I've ever done for you is because I want to. You don't need to ever repay me for kindness. It is what all creatures deserve". I got up from my seat feeling sad and angry at the thought that she would ever think that.

" Lyra, You need to understand that your body is something that you should honor, just as I honor it. I don't ever want you to think that I think so cheaply of you. You are precious to me and I would not want to take something so meaningful from you just for mere kindness. You are altogether beautiful, my love, there is no absolutely no flaw in you and I will cherish every part of you until the day I take my very last breath. I don't ever want you to ever think so lowly of yourself, as if you are a flaw. You are the definition of perfection my love". And when I walk into your garden, all your flowers will definitely bloom and it will definitely be worth the wait". I whisper into her ears "Her cheeks became halves of pomegranate as it bloomed with red.

"Caspian I didn't know you thought of me like that". She laughed as happiness came to her eyes. I felt refreshed seeing that look on her face. " I never knew that you had words like that, are you sure you never had a girlfriend, lover boy". This brought back what we talked about a few nights ago as I told her that I had never been in a relationship before, She laughed at me however she looked pleased. As I looked into her eyes she looked lost in thought.

" Let me tell you what".

" What?".

" I will take you out today to make up for making you cry plus it would be an additional way for you to experience my world". A smile of glee came to her face and she jumped up with excitement. She immediately ran away from the balcony towards the room I gave her. I shook my head as a silly smile came to my face and I got up to change into something that was more fitting for a date..

About 15 minutes later I heard a knock on my door only to open it and see Z dressed in a fitted black spaghetti dress that was above her knees with a white long sleeve blouse beneath it, she paired it with a white hat, a small white bag and a pair of high heel boots.

" Woah! You look perfect, By the way where did you get these clothes?", I asked circling her.

" Thanks, I found a bag of clothes next to where I saw Kyle's things. You look handsome by the way". I looked at her in shock. I didn't know Kyle had that in there.

" Thank you. That's for Claire, I didn't know he still had her things, that's weird".

" Claire?".

"Kyle's on and off girlfriend but that's another story for another day. Come on, let's go". I said as I grabbed her hand and teleported us.

As we stood in front of the Hot pink diner with a red sign screaming " Lovely Jack's" I held her hand as we walked in. A lady standing at the counter directly in front of us said." Welcome to Jacks, how may I take your order?". I looked at Z however she was looking up at the menu board, she then tugged at my shirt so I leaned down. " What is it?", I whispered.

"That", she said quietly while pointing at the menu board. This was the first time I saw this part of her, Z acting shy I mean. I looked up at the board only to see Apple pie and Cherry milk whip smoothie shake (CMSS) for short.

"Is that what you want?", I asked, she nodded and I went up to order from the woman. "Hello, can I get your number 7 and a pizza", the woman printed the receipt and gave me the number to receive my order. I directed Z to where the seats were to sit down and wait while I came with the food.

" Sorry for the wait, it wasn't too long was it?", I asked. Taking out the food and passing hers to her.

" No it's okay, thanks Cass''. We ate our meal while having small talk and then she mentioned wanting to get out of here so I took her to the movies where we watched 'Clients' a cliché romance movie about a billionaire CEO and a poor janitor. I didn't really enjoy it as I could already guess the outcome however Z loved it because guess what it was her first time watching something like this. In her world she told me that there weren't any movies but books that had pictures that teleported you into the scene. I thought her version of movies was more advanced and cool. I wish this world had it too but you can't get the best of both worlds. I however am very content as Z was smiling and laughing a lot so this was worth it all..

The last and current place I took her was the Scare Tales Amusement Park. We're currently standing at a popcorn stand ,Z is ordering a honey popcorn for the both of us. She looks around with excitement as she literally jumps holding a bundle of balloons.

" Let's go on that ride. I want to try that ride," she said, pointing to a Ferris wheel.

" Are you sure, it's very high up there?", I said, trying to evade her from going on that ride. I hate Ferris wheels. It gives me flashbacks from my first ride with Kyle when he threw up on me mid ride, he had a slight fear for heights. But Kyle just had to be Kyle and insisted we go on the ride anyway. I had to bathe 5 times that night to get the smell of puke off of me. I shuddered at the memory.

" I'm sure", she said. Oh no, I thought.

" Ok, let's go". I said reluctantly as I walked slowly behind her to the ticket booth to purchase two tickets. Two minutes later I was in the air in a tiny box and across from me was Z, sipping on a box of milk, swinging her legs happily as her head moved around looking at all angles unto the world outside the clean transparent box.

" This is awesome", She said, but I thought that it was torture. I didn't want to look around too much as it gives me PTSD. The things I do for love. At Least we were the only ones on the ride.

"Really, I'm glad you enjoyed it '', I said, looking nowhere but at her.

" Our world is similar but it is also much different. I'm glad we met otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to know all this, heck see it too". I smiled and reached forward to push some hair behind her ear.

" I'm glad too. I always knew that something was missing from my life and I needed a new beginning. That's what the voice had been telling me, only to find out that I did get my new beginning. You. You are my new beginning". Her face took an immediate rosy color.

" How can your words be so sweet? I don't break my own rules for you. It's wrong for me to fall for you, Francis this needs to stop". She said, as she looked at me as if alarms were going off in her head.

" Francis I want to get off this ride". Just then I heard loud screams below us and I looked and saw people running all over at alarming speeds.

" What is going on?!", I asked out loud.

" Francis looked up there", I looked to see people with powers fighting in the air and some on the ground. The military and police started moving in quickly to stop the conflict.

"Francis", I heard Queen Fareyn in my head. " Come to me", this was it. The moment I was dreading. It has finally come. The time where I will have to leave Z. Just then a ball of fire came blasting in our direction from the ground.

" Forgive me for this'', I said as I opened a portal and pushed Z through it. Then made another one for myself so that I could get off this wretched ride.
