Unapologetically
You shook your head, your phone playing on speaker on your center console while you looked at the road ahead. You wanted to turn the music up to block out the ranting from your sister.
You were on the way to your cousin's house to pick up her kids for you to babysit. But that's not what you and your sister were arguing about.
You've been dating a guy for about three weeks. He was so sweet and caring. Not to mention attractive. And the best part? You've known him most of your life so you know he isn't some dead beat that sells drugs or something like that.
"I just don't get how you could fall for someone you've been dating for three weeks! It's insan-" Oh and you're in love with him.
"Julia, did you forget who it is or something!? You know him, I know him, mom and dad know him. He's basically already part of the family!" You argue.
"I get that but some people are different when your dating them rather than being friends," she lectured.
You roll your eyes, "And you think after all this time we've known Collins he'd change because he and I are together?"
"Yeah, and when he does and you two break up your friendship will be ruined," your elder sister says.
"Y'know, They say you find your soulmate before you're 18. He's like the only guy I've talked to other than his brother but Devan is younger than me," you say calmly.
Julia sighed, "You're seriously going that far? Saying he could be your soulmate?"
"Well I bet when you fell in love with Jackson you were thinking the same exact thing," Jackson is Julia's husband.
She sighed once more, "I'm just saying, you are insane if you're already in love with him. I mean, I hate to say it, y/n, but what if he doesn't love you back. Or maybe he just wants some pretty arm candy?"
"Julia! Are you kidding me?! Once again, it's Collins! He would never do that! So what, maybe he doesn't love me back. Maybe, it is wrong that I already feel this way. But I'm not going to apologize for it!" After that outburst you looked down at your phone. You tried pressing the button to hang up. But that and a pair of headlights were the last thing you saw before the accident.
*Three Days Later*
Beeping. That was the annoying sound you heard. It was loud and obnoxious and too much for your poor head. Your eyes were still closed. You were just waiting for the beeping to stop. But it wouldn't.
You felt your hand holding someone else's. Lightly, you squeeze it to let them know you're awake.
It was hard to but, you open your eyes and find yourself in a sterile looking room. A small gasp is heard, "Y/n?" You look slightly to the left where the voice came from. Sitting there holding your hand in his, was your tall, bright-blue eyed, boyfriend.
"Hi," You say in a frail voice.
He teared up, "I'm so glad you're okay." When you started tearing up you notice how his eyes looked puffy, he's been crying because of how nervous he's been for you.
You smile a tiny bit, "You've been crying?"
"We almost lost you. Doctor said you were lucky to survive much less with minor injuries," He explained briefly. Wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Minor injuries?" You asked surprised.
He nodded, his messy hair flopping up and down with it, "Well Yeah. Minor for what kind of wreck it was. There was some internal bleeding around your kidneys from the impact. And a slight concussion." He looked down as if it pained him to talk about.
"And you were here the whole time?" You asked, you could tell from the few coffee cups on the table and the few in the trash can near it.
"Of course I did, I could never just leave you," he said as he squeezed your hand. He lifted it up and kissed your knuckles, you smile.
*a few hours later*
The doctor came into the room after you talked with Collins. He ran a few tests before allowing you to be discharged. He probably trusted Collins with you to make sure you rested and let yourself heal.
Soon you and Collins made it to your apartment, he made you sit on the couch while he got you some water. Doctor said to stay up on the fluids until your check-up appointment which was three weeks away, just to see if you're healing correctly.
Collins set the water on the coffee table and sat down next to you, "Are you feeling okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm okay," You say, there's a sore spot on your stomach and you know your lip is split and you have a few bruises on and around your face but nothing you couldn't handle.
He nodded, "Thank goodness."
You lean your head on his shoulder as he wraps an arm around your shoulders.
He took a deep breath before saying those three words. The ones that caused the wreck in the first place. The ones that are so magical they make people do stupid things (like look at your phone while driving). The ones you were too afraid to say before the whole thing happened.
Your e/c eyes light up and you shoot your head up to look at him. He stares at you with that sweet look in his cerulean irises. His pupils are dilated. And his face has a pink tint. "I love you too, Collins," you say softly.
"You do?" He asked surprised that you told him you love him back.
You blush, "Always have. Always will. Life's too short to tell someone you love them."
Collins snorted at the reference she just made, "Yeah. I should've said it earlier. I was just worried if it was too early."
You kiss his cheek, "No."
He cups your face in his hands and touches his lips to yours, "Good."
Suddenly you heard the lock of your door clicking, it took longer than someone who had a key. Collins stood from his place and stepped in between you and the door. It swing open to reveal your parents. You had given them a key when you moved in.
"Hey, kids, sorry if we scared you. Y/d/n, here couldn't figure out which keyhole to put it in," Your sweet mother explained.
"Well, I'm sorry. It's not like I have X-ray vision to tell which one is loc-" your father stopped talking when he realized how awkward you and Collins seemed. "Hey, pumpkin, you feeling better?" He turned toward you.
"Yeah, thank you, dad," You answer. Your mom walked toward you with a bag in her hand.
"A little get better kit. It's got movies, a blanket, popcorn, Gatorade, and Ice cream," your mom stated. Mom of the Year Award goes to y/m/n!
Meanwhile your father started talking to Collins, he held out his hand, "Thank you for taking care of her, son."
Collins took his hand and shook it, "My pleasure, sir. I don't know what I would've done with myself if we had lost her."
"Collins, if I approve of anyone dating my daughter, it'd be you. But only on one condition," You father said. Collins looked at him hating for him to continue, "Stop calling me 'sir' it makes me feel old. We known each other long enough for you to call me by my name."
Collins smiled and chuckled, "Yeah, no problem."

I feel like it's hard to have stories without tragedy or sadness but I'll try to make my next one less sad.
I really hope you liked this imagine.
Also let me know if you think the ending what's kind of awkward. I think it was okay but definitely not the best.
