Kili lay in a bed in so much pain as his face pained Amanda's heart. She tried so hard to help m by holding his hand and placing a cold cloth onto his head.

" shh, shh." Amanda tried to calm him from his screams of pain. Beads of sweat poured from him. Amanda took off her quiver and bow placing it down, making it easier for her to move about.

"Ah! Ugh! Argh!" Kili yelled thrashing around on the bed. Bofur fills a blow with hot water and rushed over to them.

"Can you not do something?" Fili's asked out loudly. Fearing for his brothers life.

"I need herbs, something to bring down his fever." Oin said looking at Kili's leg. Bard searched through a bag of medicines picking out bottles as he went.

"I have nightshade, feverfew..." Bard told them as he rummaged around the bag.

"They're no use to me."Oin said shaking his head.

"We need Kingsfoil. Do you have it?" Amanda asked Bard looking from Kili to him.

"No, it's a weed. We feed it to the pigs." Bard told her she looked to Bofur and nodded.

"Pigs? Weed? Right." Bofur's walked over to Kili and posted at him as Amanda kissed his forehead.

"Don't move." He said as he and Amanda ran from the house to search for the weed. They ran up and down stairs and over bridges. Amanda looked to Bofur's.

" It will be quicker if we split." She told him and with a nodded they went separate ways. Little did the know that orcs were stalking them from above on the roof tops. Silently the orcs followed them about the village. As Amanda found some Kingsfoil she stood up with it in her had and smiled as she made her way back to the house. But just as she was about to climb the stairs around the corner. An Orc landed in front of her, ducking quickly to avoid being beheaded. She rolled along the ground and pulled out her sword slicing the Orc in the stomach. The Orc fell dead at her feet.

"Get down!" Amanda heard Fili yell out from the house as the sound of crashing sounded. Amanda took to her feet and ran up the stairs while stashing the Kingsfoil in her pocket to use both her swords. With two swords in hand she burst into the house kicking an orc who had his back turned to her. She quickly blocked a sword and pierced into it heart. She ripped the sword from him and swung it over her head taking an orcs head from its shoulders. She then heard Kili yelled as an Orc landed in front of him. This distracted Amanda for a split second allowing an Orc to sneak up behind her and readied to kill her. But an arrow lunged into its head as Amanda ran to kill the Orc that was about to kill Kili.

" aAre you alright?" She asked Kili as she picked him up and put him back onto the bed. He yelled in pain as it got worse.

" Yeah. Behind you!" Kili yelled as he pulled her down on to the bed. A Orc blade narrowly missed her head again as it was killed buy a sword form behind. It dropped to reveal Legolas looking at them.

" Thank you, my friend." She offered her thanks to him in elvish. Legolas smiled as he looked around the house.

" The orcs are retreating, Tauriel." Legolas said as he nodded to her. Amanda handed her the Kingsfoil and she made up some medicine to heal Kili, who was yelling in pain.

" Amanda, may I speak with you." Legolas said as Amanda nodded. She walked over to him as Tauriel began to heal Kili. Amanda stood in front of Legolas.

" Are you alright?" Legolas asked with worry. His eyes scanned her small frame as she nodded.

" Yes I am well." Amanda said with a gentle smile.

" I got here as fast as I could." Legolas said stepping closer to her. She was only about three heads shorter than him so not too small.

" Thank you for all your help. It means a lot." Amanda said thanking him by bowing her head. Kili turned her head to look at her and Legolas, he wanted to call her name and have her next to him. She watched as she sheathed both her swords easily on her hips and readjusting the one on her lower back.

" You mean a lot." He whispered as he placed a hand on her cheek and kissed her so quickly, Amanda stood there stunned unable to move at the actions. Her heart stopped and fell cold, this was not right. She pushed him away from her and looked to the ground away from him.

" Leave." She muttered to him. Legolas looked hurt but followed her wishes and walked out the house. He stopped and felt his heart break, but now he had to fight. He had to release his anger and kill something. Amanda stood in the same stop looking to the ground. Sure she would have fell for the charming elven prince, had she not already have given her heart to Kili. But little did she know Kili had watched everything, he saw the kiss and his heart broke. He turned away from Amanda as she turned around no walked over to him. She knelt down at the bed and stroked his head calming him. Tears brimmed her eyes as he could see the hurt and pain within them.

" You will be fine. You will beat this." She whispered to him as a great white light appeared behind her, causing her to look even more beautiful. Tears fell from her eyes as she broke down no longer able to hold back any of her emotions.

" Hold on, you have too. For me." She whispered to him as his yells of pain stopped. He calmed down and closed his eye gently. His breathing calm down to normal. Amanda smiled and kissed his head and then his lips.

" Thank you, my friend." She thanked the red head as she nodded looking down to Kili before leaving the house.

" Your going to be just fine." She whispered and sat by his bedside holding his hand. She fell into a sleep quickly as she had not slept for at least two night. Her head lay against Kili's shoulder as her breathing evened out. Bofur's and the other watched as Fili walked over to her and placed a blanket over her shoulder.

" It may not be for long, but let her rest." Bofur said softly nodding.

(Meanwhile with Fiona)

The dwarves and Fiona waited outside for Bilbo to return but a sudden rumble of the ground brought them from their silence.

"What was that!?" Ori squeaked.

"That my friend. Is a dragon." Balin said. Fiona shot up in worry.

"Bilbos still down there! We have to go get him!" She said.

"No...we wait." Thorin said, not taking his eyes off the door. Fiona's eyes flashed gold I'm rage.

"Wait?...wait for what you pig headed king!? For him to die!? What happened to that protective dwarf I know and love!? That hobbit down there has saved your ass God knows too many times to count and you your just going to wait!? Fuck that Thorin Oakinshield I'm going in there to help!" She screamed. She began to make her way to the door but Thorin grabbed her arm keeping her from entering the mountain.

"No! Are you mad you stupid girl!? I won't loose you!" He growled.

"What do you care? You hurt me back in lake town so fuck you." she growled. She growled like a wolf on the prey making Thorin move away slowly. He watched as she ran inside the hall.

"Are ye just goin tae let her go, ye fool!?" Dwalin growled at his friend. Remembering his promise to Amanda as he ran after her.

"Wait fur me lass I'm coming!" He yelled. Thorin snapped out of it and grabbed his sword.

"Let's go!" He barked. He ran ahead of Dwalin and found Fiona and Bilbo running up the stairs.

"Thorin! The dragons awake! We have to leave now!" Bilbo panted.

"The arkenstone!? Did you find it?!" Thorin asked quickly.

"Yes but..."Bilbo stopped short when the tip of the blade was placed at the small hobbits neck. Bilbo could see the change in the dwarf leaders eyes and did not like it. But he snapped out of it when Fiona came between them and growled

"Wake up fool!" Thorin blinked and shook his head.

"I...I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."hhe grumbled.

However Fiona knew exactly what was wrong...

"You! Shall all burn!" Smaug roared. Fear cored through Fiona as she screamed with the others.

"Run! Go go go!" Thorin yelled running with everyone. They ran through the halls with Smaug in their tails. Fiona spotted pots of water and skidded to a stop.

"Fiona!" Thorin yelled but she ignored him and waved her arms to form the water into deadly spikes. Smaug chuckled and blew a small rain of fire towards her. She was able to protect herself...but she suddenly couldn't hold the water and fell to the ground gasping. A pair of arms swooped her off her feet and onto his shoulder as she saw fire then nothing but darkness.

"Fiona!? Fiona wake up!" Thorin said, giving her a pat on the cheek. Fiona grumbled and woke up, finding herself in a dark room with the company.

"What...happened to me?" She asked.

"You passed out from Smaugs Fire." Balin explained. Realisation dawned over Fiona.

"Great. Water is Amanda's weakness and mine is fire. This is just great." She grumbled. The company chuckled as Thorin helped her up. She looked up at him.

"Thanks...for saving me" she said quietly.

"I will always protect you....no matter what." Thorin said. He saw Fiona smile slightly then turn away.

"Come on! I have a plan." She said, deciding to speed things up.
