Enchanted waters

The further in they walked, the darker it became. Bofur ran over to a bridge but stopped when he saw it there was a large part of it missing. Amanda walked through them closely followed by Fiona. Bilbo joined them as they looked down under the broken bridge.

" We could swim it?" Bofur said more of a question than a statement.

" didn't you hear what Gandalf said? A dark magic lies upon this forest." Thorin informed them as they looked around for a way past. Amanda's vision blurred slightly but she blinked it back easily.

" The waters in these streams are enchanted." Thorin said loudly. Amanda and Fiona chuckled, they most certainly the kind of enchanted they likes.

"Does look very enchanting to me. Bofur spoke what was on all their minds. Amanda chuckled lowly as she crouched down to view the water better. It was black and full of green.

" We must find another way across." Thorin told everyone as they began to search. Amanda had a thought. Back at Beorn's house, she was training and found she can jump pretty far.

" I think I might have an answer." Amanda said, but she did not want to jump the stream first just incase it does not work.

" What?" Thorin asked walking forward to her. Truth was she had never told anyone of her new found talent.

" While training back at Beorn's. I found I can jump furthur than even an elf." Amanda said to Thorin quietly as everyone searched for a way across.

" I will first try it jumping from that tree to that one." Amanda said as she pointed to two tree with roughly about the same distance of gap to the bridge.

" Very well." Thorin said as Amanda walked over and climbed the tree gently. She looked up and stood on a branch. Kili was looking around and then caught sight of her.

" Amanda! What are you doing?!" Kili yelled running to the bottom of the tree she was in. Amanda was about the size of two men up a tree. She never said a single word as she looked to Thorin.

" Amanda! Are you crazy!" Fiona called out as she looked up to her.

" Come down, lass! Your gonna kill yourself!" Dwalin called out. Amanda looked to Thorin and nodded. Thorin's eyes looked to Kili who was looking at him.

" You cannot be serious! You are letting her jump from there!" Kili yelled stepping forward to his uncle.

" It's was not my choice." Thorin said to him. Kili shook his head.

" No. No." He said turning around and looking to Amanda.

" Amanda come down." Kili order not leaving it up for discussion. Amanda just smiled at him gently.

" Amanda don't." Kili said knowning the smirk she has on her means she will not listen to him.

" Amanda." He said but Amanda just looked forward and ran over a branch.

" Amanda!" Fiona and Kili called at the same time. Kili ran directly under her as she lept off the branch. Everything went so slow, Amanda's feet left the branch and she flew over the company. Kili was right under her as she easily landed onto the opposite branch just inches away from the edge of the broken branch.

" Okay, now come down." Kili said not waiting a second after she landed.

" There no so bad." Amanda muttered as Kili turned and walked away from the tree. Everyone sighed in relief as they looked to the ground. Amanda stepped forward one step, but the trees here being old and sick. The branch did not take her light weight and it snapped. The deafing sound split through the woods and hit the dwarves ears. All their eyes look to Amanda as she slowly fell to the ground. With the air being so thick, the whole thing felt like it was going in slow mode.

" Amanda!" Fiona yelled as she ran at her. Thorin also took to his feet next to Kili. But seeing as Kili had walked away Thorin was now the closest to Amanda. The sound of feet hitting the ground heavily was the only sound that could be heard. Thorin had managed to make it to Amanda just in time as he jumped and grabbed her bridal style. He flew forward with her in his arms and landed on the ground. Amanda rolled out of Thorin's arms and over the ground. But as she and Thorin hit the ground a rock connected to the back of her head. As she stopped rolling Kili ran over to her.

" Amanda!" He cried as knelt down next to her. Kili helped her sit up, holding her up with an arm at her back. Everyone had gathered around her looking on with scared.

" I'm alright." She whispered. Kili saw a small amount of blood trickle down the left side of her face.

" You hit your head! You are not alright!" Kili said with anger looking at her as he dabbed her forehead.

" Kili! I said I am fine!" Amanda shouted at him, pushing his hand away from her head.

" No you are not! You should never have been so stupid!" Kili shouted back and started to tend to her head.

" Stupid?! Oh so I am stupid now?!" She yelled at him pushing him away again. At this point everyone looked to each other and nodded before slowly walking away. Fiona helped Thorin to his feet and looked at him.

" Lets leave them be. Trust me, you don't want to be near this." Fiona said as she pushed him away from the couple sitting on the forest floor.

" You should never have jumped that! It was stupid and idiotic!" Kili growled to her trying to get to her head.

" Oh so I am not only stupid but idiotic to!" Amanda cried as she continued to swat him away.

" Look would you just leave me alone!" She said getting inritated by him.

" Would stop being childish!" Kili yelled at her.

" Childish?" Amanda whispered in growing anger to him. Fiona heard it in the distance and cringed. Thorin noticed this and looked to her with worry.

" What is wrong?" He asked her.

" Kili just called Amanda childish." Fiona said sypathetically. Next thing they heard was a large thud, They all looked over in the direction that the couple were in. They saw Amanda storm out trying hard to keep her balance. Both from the thickness of the air and her new head wound. Her hands were balled into fists and slowly starting to glow. Thorin and Fiona looked at each other and then quickly made their way over to were Kili was. When they got there they saw Kili sitting with his hand rubbing his lower back.

" Yeah I should have warned you all. Calling Amanda childish is the same as calling her weak." Fiona said scratching her head with an awkward chuckle. Thorin smiled and chuckled as well as he reached over and lifted Kili to his feet. Kili groaned in pain as he straighten out.

" So your first argument." Fiona said with a smile. Kili looked down with a sad look on his face.

" Yeah and our last." He said to her. Thorin heard and his smirk dropped before looking at his nephew.

" What?" Fiona asked walking over to him.

" She said we are over just before she left." Kili grumbled lowly. Fiona's heart dropped slightly and looked in the direction Amanda had stormed off.

" You know she has a short fuse, I am sure she does not mean anything by it." Thorin said placing his hand on his shoulder.

" But you did not see the look on her face. I have never seen so much honesty in my life." He informed his uncle almost as thought he was gonna cry.

" I will have a word with her." Fiona said before walking off after Amanda. It did not take long to find her growling words to herself.

" Amanda?" She asked. Amanda turned and looked to Fiona. Her eyes cooled down seeing her friend before her.

" What was that? You broke up with Kili?" Fiona asked still not believing it.

" Yes. I cannot be bother dealing with men that are so stuck up." Amanda growled to her. Fiona shook her head.

" Oh come on, he was just really worried." Fiona said to her.

" I don't care. I am done with him." Amanda yelled at her.

" But Amanda!" Fiona cried, Amanda stepped forward to her.

" FIONA ENOUGH!" She yelled sounded more like a roar of a beast. For a second her eyes changed so quickly that is scared Fiona. But just as soon as they did they vanished.

" Fiona! Amanda!" Thorin called running towards them, worry plastered all over him.

" I heard something like a beast. Are you both alright?" He asked them. Amanda looked to the ground ashamed in herself. Fiona looked to Thorin with a smile and nodded.

" we're fine." She muttered.

" come we have found away across." Thorin said as they walked back to where everyone was. They all had to climb branches and vines to get across, Bombar was no longer able to talk the stress and fell asleep. Amanda tailed up the end of the company staying as far away from Kili as she could. Bilbo, Thorin and Fiona were the first ones to cross the stream. But as they stood there something caught their eyes. It was a white stag that walked out and stared at the three of them. Thorin pulled a arrow out and strung it slowly.

"What are you doing?" Bilbo asked him drawing Fiona's attention to Thoirn.

"Thorin don't." Fiona said gently but it was to late as Thorin had pulled the string back and fired it off so quickly, narrowly missing the White stag as it ran off scared.

" you shouldn't have done that." Bilbo said quietly.

"It's bad luck." Fiona told him as they stared at the space where the stag once was.

" I don't believe in luck." Thorin said as his voice grew slower.

" We make our own luck." He finished. It was then that Bombar fell into the black water bellow. Everyone sighed and they had to lifted him out off the water and then the hard task came of trying to carry him.
