Dancing Under the Stars
"Dinner is ready!"
Liv's voice echoes upstairs and into Issac's room.
I groaned, not wanting to leave Issac's warm arms. In his arms, I felt safe and comfortable. I found home in his arms.
Issac and I were cuddling on his bed. I had my head placed on his stomach, and he had one arm around my shoulders. His fingers were brushing through my brown hair. I felt peaceful as Issac's stomach rose and fell with his breathing.
"We waiting on you guys!," said a squeaky little voice from downstairs. I assumed it was Tommy.
"We should go downstairs," Issac said to me and I nodded my head in agreement.
Issac's arm slid off my shoulders and I instantly missed his warm embrace. I wished we could stay there, intertwined with each other; I wished we were frozen in time.
I sat up, and I moved so that my legs were dangling off the bed. I jumped to the hardwood floor, and Issac did the same. Then, he placed his hand in mine and my heart skipped a beat. I smiled when he linked his fingers with mine.
We walked downstairs hand in hand, and we saw that Tommy was standing at the end of the stairs waiting for us.
"It was about time you guys came downstairs! It feels like you've been up for YEARS!," Tommy said sassily.
A light chuckle escaped from my lips, and I looked at Issac and I saw he was laughing too. It was the first time Tommy spoke to me, and he was incredibly sassy to me. It was hilarious.
"Well, look at you Mr. Sassy Pants!," Issac joked walking down the stairs.
When he got to the end of the stairs, Issac picked Tommy up and spun him around. Tommy giggled an adorable little giggle. Issac grinned from ear to ear.
He put Tommy back down on the ground and walked to the dining room.
The dining room table was made of granite, and dining room walls were a pretty peach color. On the walls were abundances of pictures of Issac and his family. In one picture, I saw a woman with green eyes and blond hair smiling down at a baby in her arms.
"Is that you?," I asked Issac, pointing at the baby in the picture.
"Yeah, that's me with my mother," he said with a bit of sadness in his blue eyes.
I was about to ask what's wrong when Liv and Ivan walked into the room.
"Jessica, we want to ask you something," Liv said while smiling. She sat down at the table.
"What is it?," I asked, sitting down at the table as well.
"Could you come to our wedding with Issac? It would be a great experience, and I'm sure you'd have a lots of fun," Liv said while Ivan squeezed her hand with affection.
My eyes widened with surprise. They've only just meet me, and they want me to go to their wedding?
"Um...are you sure? I mean, you've only just met me," I said.
"We've only just met you, and you already seem like such a sweet girl. Issac is lucky to have a girl like you. Our wedding would be a good experience for the two of you," Liv insisted, leaning into the table.
I smiled, imagining Issac and I slow dancing to a song, my arms wrapped around his neck and his wrapped around my waist as we sway to the music.
"Sure, if you want me to," I said smiling.
--------------
When dinner was over, Issac took me outside to his backyard with one of his hands in mine and the other holding a radio.
"Why do you have a radio?," I asked curiously.
He smiled. "We're going to practice dancing for the wedding."
I grinned from ear to ear. Happiness was growing inside of me as I realized that I was going to slow dance with Issac. He was going to have his arms around my waist and I was going to have my arms around his neck.
We walked outside, and he placed the radio on the ground. He pressed play, and the song Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns N' Roses started playing.
"This isn't a wedding song!," I laughed.
"I know, I was just joking when I said that we were practicing for the wedding. We're going to jam out to this song!," Issac said excitedly, his blue eyes filled with happiness.
"It's a good thing this is my favorite song," I said.
"Really? This is my favorite song!," Issac said, his eyes filling with excitement and his lips curving into a wide smile across his face.
We started jumping up and down the way little kids do when they're excited. We sung all the lyrics at the top of our lungs, smiling and laughing.
Issac took a hold of both of my hands and continued to jump and down. I looked into his blue eyes and were mesmerized by the blue hue. His eyes were filled with happiness, and that made my smile even wider. If he was happy, I was happy.
The guitar solo started, and I played the air guitar. I whipped my hair back and forth, pretending to be a badass guitar player. Issac laughed, pretending to be a guitar player also. The guitar solo intensified, and we both looked into each other's eyes.
Then, Issac looked down at my lips. He took one step closer to me. Two steps. Three steps. My heartbeat quickened with every step he took. Eventually, he was standing right in front of me, his face inches apart from mine.
He leaned his face closer to mine, making our breaths mix. A shiver went all throughout my body as he tucked a hair behind my ear, and then he placed his lips on mine.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me. I wanted every inch that was between us to disappear. I wanted to have his muscled chest against mine. I wanted to feel every piece of him against every piece of me. I wanted to feel his thumping heartbeat and know that his heart was beating for me.
His lips separated from mine, and we looked into each other's eyes. His eyes were full of twinkling stars just like the night sky above us. We both grinned from ear to ear, and we kissed once again.
It was in that moment that I started falling deeply in love with Issac Thompson.
