Emily was excitedly talking to Valerie and Brooklyn about the epic Traven water fight, when she, in her excitement fell backward and suddenly fell into someone. This is going to be awkward. she thought

Coming back to her senses, she slowly opened her eyes looked up at the person that had his arm around her waist, barely two inches above the ground, to see a very familiar face.

"Adam!" cried out Emily, standing up, extremely happy to be spared all that awkwardness if it were not him.

"How could I let my girlfriend fall down onto the floor ?" replied Adam with an exaggerated bow.

Valerie carefully backed away and broke into a run, getting away from the scene. After all, being polite and all, she did not want to intrude on the lovebirds' private time. Meanwhile, Brooklyn got out her phone and snapped a couple of pictures, then ran after Valerie.

"Hey, I accidentally got an extra movie ticket for Black Panther. Wanna come with me?" asked Adam trying to sound calm.

"Yeah, why would I miss a chance to go to a movie with my boyfriend?" replied Emily as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Adam grinned as he walked with Emily, hand in hand, towards the cafeteria.
