Prompt 2- DEEP space Horror
The mysterious unknown appears to be empty space. More empty as being the only astronaut to travel this far and lose contact with the space station. I had one job, and I failed my country, family, and the people who looked up to me for making a dangerous journey. The general was right when it was a grave risk to take, but I was too young to realize the consequences.
At least the rocket I was assigned to handle still had plenty of food and oxygen to last me till my death. The only thing I am waiting for is an adventure to have that can kill me so I can end this miserable loneliness. I look back at my innocent self always believing anything was possible, maybe its true or...not.
A screech from the outside of the rocket came to my attention as I rolled my eyes at the sound it made every single day or what I think were days. Only yet this time, there were sirens blasting inside calling for a code red. Code red could symbolize anything and I wasn't sure at the moment what was the hazard. I grabbed the nearest item that could be used as a weapon and made sure the oxygen was running still through the cabin.
The noise seemed to come from the lab I set up to grow plants on other planets. I slowly pondered at the trouble of having an alien on board. There were two choices, I could die fighting the alien or die anyway without doing anything useful. As the general would say, "Risk your life to save others."
I slowly crushed the door opened to reveal the strangest thing known to man. The lab was in ruins with the dirt scattered around the floor. Yet there was blue liquid splattered mixing with the dirt. I crouched down to take an analysis for later, but another screech was heard behind me in the hall before the rocket jolted. The movement caused me to fall on highly gross liquid and dirt which made me feel disgusted as I tried getting the mess off.
There were limits, and I was tired of being pushed back by some sort of alien. So, I decided to go back to the main cabin where the engine should be. A tinge of fear was coming from the rapid sound from my heart.
Thump...Thump...Thump.
At last, I reached the main deck's door with weird noises coming from the inside. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to see what was inside. In the end, there is no such thing as monsters, so I should open the door.
Horror crept towards my face as I looked at what was in store for me. It was more than what I imagined in my wildest dreams if a case like this was to come back. Maybe it isn't too late to-
"Space Cadet down! Space Cadet down!" Only it was too late for them to catch the signal.
