Preface
The story itself started out as an invitation back when I used to type short stories from the prompts that came out 2 or 3 times a week on Auctor. My only motive in repeatedly posting short stories despite the occasional writer's block was to finally come out 1st place and leave the site for good.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading the stories of other anonymous writers that had more creativity and literate prowess than what my pea-sized neurons could come up with, plus the feedback was also a delight, either if the critiques were positive or negative.
Some of the writers came as far as posting a chat in place of a story for socializing and improvising interactive stories. That's how ingenious these writers were in terms of creativity.
After 7 months, 44 short stories and two 2nd places on the weekly challenges on Auctor. thought: If I don't win 1st place on the 50th try, I'll leave the app regardless if I win or not.
I wanted to have a part of them as a keepsake and I was inspired by one of the interactive stories and thought of a tournament arc.
A fighting tournament for fun.
I posted the invitation for anyone who was interested and wanted to participate.
I was expecting maybe 2 or 3 writers might be interested at first, then considered that the other writers wouldn't be interested in the invitation. The idea would be dropped and discarded.
Well I was wrong, I wasn't expecting many writers to join in on the endeavor. The idea of a collaborative writing project also got the attention of the developer himself.
Without further ado ladies and gentlemen, the invitation that initiated a journey.

Tournament Arc: JOIN THE PARTY!
Welcome one and all to the Coliseum. You, the reader, are invited to participate in this endeavor. I want you to be a part of the party.
To the creative writer that is reading this, if you have a character that has been collecting dust in the depths of your mind, fret no more. You can file a form for your Original Character to participate in the tournament.
You can bring up to 6 OC's to the tournament to sign. Your original character can be human, humanoid or other.
HERE ARE THE FORMS!
📃
[Name of Character]
[Age: Optional]
[Gender: ♂️, ♀️ or other]
Physical description: [hair color/length, eye color, skin tone, height, weight, etc.]
Abilities: either physical or magical. [Hand-to-hand combat, martial arts, weapons, etc.]
Birthplace/Birthday/Zodiac sign: optional
Strengths; weakness(es): A must for potential storyline.
Ethnicity/Species: potential storyline
Which division will they participate?
Simple, your character will be placed on one of these divisions.
The Magic Division:
This division is for magic users and mystical creatures with similar abilities.
Ex: OC no.1 is a magic user and OC no.2 is a hybrid elf, they can participate in this division.
The only requirement is that the participant can use magic, you can summon weapons and magic barriers and regenarate via magical healing. NECROMANCY IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Summoning an army, a henchman, or any other being who didn't sign the form to compete in the Colesseum is automatically disqualified. If any of the participants kills their opponent, not only is that character disqualified, they're banned from the Colesseum. PERMANENTLY!
The Melee Division:
This division is for non-magic users. Common folk that want a classic clash either using their fists or their weapons. If a magic user or magical creature wants to participate in this division, they can do so as long as they don't use magic. PERIOD! No summoning magical weapons or magic items. I don't care if your OC just discovered that he/she/they has magic powers during the fight. The rules still stand. If your character disarms an opponent and takes their weapon, the opponent has to fight in order to get their weapon back.
Gender Based Division:
This is why the OC has to fill in the gender part of the form if he, she or they want to participate in one of these divisions.
1) Men's Division: For male characters only.
2) Women's Division: For female characters only.
3) Mixed Divison: This is where your Trans OC's or "other genders" that your OC(s) identifies with can compete. So you don't have any excuses.
If there are any of you who don't have an Original Character in mind, that's okay. You don't have to participate if you don't want to. And to those who disrespect the characters, the judges, the announcers, me included, you will be given the BOOT! 🥾
You'll be kicked out of the Coliseum with the stench of rejection once you take a whiff of the boot that has been thrown at you afterwards.
○《●》○
The Members of the Coliseum part of the original invitation has been omitted for discretion since most of the members originally mentioned are either inactive or moved on from the project.
The Gender Based Division was also discarded after the info of the contestants have been collected. Apparently, Magic was on high demand in the tournament.
After formulating the backstory to how the characters discovered the tournament, and writing fictional advertising for satire. The story came to life to what is seen now.
An idea that manifested itself into reality.
Be honest; would this kind of invitation have piqued your interest?
Would you have jumped at the chance in partaking at a quest like this one?
Or would you take the initiative and send an invitation despite not knowing the outcome?
You don't know what you're missing.
