Sap's death (Angst warning)

(Warnings: angst, character death, blood, not canonical)

Colerc had come too late. He saw his companion on the ground, blood pooling beneath them. "Sap?!" He called out. His friend made no movement to show they were alive other than the soft rising and falling of their chest. "No, no, no." He picked up Sap as carefully as he could. Sap's eyes half glazed over struggled to stay open. "Sap I'm here. please hang on y-your gonna be fine, o-ok?" Colerc was trying to convince himself more than Sap. Colerc called for someone, anyone, to come help them. But nobody came. Colerc felt a small paw on his hand. He looked down at Sap. Sap's eyes worried him. They showed acceptance and peace. "Sap please don't go. You can't go, I need you." Colerc begged quietly not wanting to hurt him more. His eyes were full of sadness, guilt and pain. Sap's eyes seemed to speak for him as they always seemed to do. They said Colerc was going to have to go on without him and that Sap didn't blame him. But most importantly they said goodbye. "Sap y-you'll be fine. I-I'll find a vet, a-a hosp-ital. I'll find s-something just please do-don't go to sleep." Colerc was getting desperate but he knew it was no good. "Sap, please-". Colerc saw that Sap was slipping away and knew that it was his last chance. "Goodbye Sap. You were one of the best."

Sap was finding it hard to focus. The bad doctors had found the base with him inside defenceless. Sap didn't blame Colerc for what had happened. How could he. It was because of the bad doctors, not Colerc. He knew Colerc would blame himself but Colerc had done everything he could to try to get back to help him. He put his paw on Colerc's hand, looking to try and comfort him as much as his broken self could and looked up at him. Colerc seemed more frantic and worried. Sap tried hear Colerc but it was getting difficult. He was slipping away. Sap was having a hard time keeping his eyes open. It felt like the lids were made of lead. Darkness clawed at the edges of his vision. He closed his eyes. "-bye Sap. You .-er-. one .. ..-e best." A peaceful smile crossed his face despite everything, he was a good friend? Colerc tried to stay awake but it was becoming so very hard to focus. He felt his consciousness slipping away fast. Maybe sleeping sounded nice.
