Help
Barry wondered what was wrong with him.
He had let Ronnie take his place, and he had died because of it.
Eddie had died because he wasn't fast enough.
That was why he sat on a bridge.
It was beautiful.
He had heard drowning was peaceful.
Maybe it would be.
"What are you doing here?" Snart asked.
Barry jumped.
"Just looking at the view," he answered.
"Bullshit."
Barry sighed.
"Listen. I don't really want to have some deep and meaningful with a criminal," Barry said.
"Well, too bad. You can jump, but I'll freeze the river, and it will hurt, but you won't die."
Barry sighed.
"Just leave me alone," he begged.
"Not happening."
Barry stared at the river.
"Well, if you're going to have 'a heartfelt talk with a criminal', than you should probably call him by his first name. Except I hate my first name, so you can call me Len."
Barry rolled his eyes.
"I got two of my friends killed," he finally relented 10 minutes later.
"How did you get them killed?" Len asked.
So Barry explained.
"To me, it sounds like they decided to be noble."
"They died because I wasn't fast enough."
"That may be true, but you didn't make that choice. They did."
Barry looked at Len, tears filling his eyes.
"But I could have saved them," he whispered brokenly.
Len shook his head. "You did all you could."
"Why wasn't that enough?" and he started to teether.
"That's just how life works. People die. Just because some did, doesn't mean you should join them."
Barry looked at Len.
"Can I hug you?" he begged.
Len nodded silently.
...
For the next half hour, they just sat, Len holding Barry, while Barry sobbed quietly into his shirt.
