Being Abandoned
Note: This came from my love to write hurt!Barry stories, and the fact that I was reading about a bunch of different versions of the season 2 finale.
Also, for those of you who don't know, reconstruction means a thing that has been rebuilt after being damaged or destroyed.
This is a story where Barry never had feelings for Iris, but she had feelings for him. Jesse also gains her speed a little early.
Enjoy!
...
Barry sat in the cell, and all he could focus on was his grief. He knew the seven stages of grief; shock, denial, pain, guilt, anger, bargaining, depression, reconstruction, acceptance and hope.
He was definitely on the anger.
He had already passed the other ones. Shock happened has he watched the life fade from Henry's eyes. Denial had happened when he had flashbacks to all of the good times. Pain had happened when he realized that he hadn't spent very much time with Henry since he got out of jail. That was guilt too.
Anger had started when he attacked Zoom, or Hunter. When Zoom had gotten away, he had started bargaining. What if Zoom died? Then he could take Henry's place!
Now, rationally, Barry knew that wouldn't happen, but he didn't care.
The anger had never really 'gone away'.
He had started depression at the funeral. It still hadn't gone away.
And, now, because of his so-called 'friends', the anger was back in full force.
When Wally had opened the cell, and had told him that Joe had been taken, he surprised himself.
He didn't care.
Why should he? Joe, his 'second father', had set him up. Locked him up.
He realized he didn't want to save Joe.
And, again, why should he? Wally had always been kind of an asshole towards him, Joe had locked him up, and Iris had too.
So why should Barry care?
He shouldn't. So he didn't.
Instead of running upstairs where his friends would surely lock him up again, he ran off, without his suit.
He just hoped Jesse wouldn't try to catch him.
...
Barry sat alone at the bar, wishing he could do something to numb the crippling depression, but he knew he couldn't. There wasn't enough whisky in the world.
Suddenly, Cisco walked toward him. Barry figured he'd give him a chance, not that he wanted to.
As soon as Cisco sat down, he started to talk. "I know you wanna bolt, but I have Harry aiming at you, and the second you move he will shoot. If you somehow manage to escape that, Jesse is waiting at the door. Main point, hear me out."
Barry chuckled darkly.
"A, I can run a mile before Harry manages to shoot me." Suddenly, Barry turned behind him and grabbed the dart mid-air. "Second," he continued while Cisco looked shocked, " I can phase through walls. She can't stop me either. So, why shouldn't I just run away from the people who just put me in a cage, and just attempted to do it again?" He caught another dart as he finished that sentence.
Not that Barry knew it, but Harry didn't have any darts left.
"Well, uh, we're sorry? And we're your friends?" Cisco asked more than he said. Barry looked at his hopeful expression and snorted. "We are not friends," he said, making Cisco's face fall, "And by the question in your voice, your not sorry. So, bye," he said, and he raced through the wall before Cisco could respond.
...
As Barry looked around his apartment, he could feel the anger wearing off, and he just wished that he could be comforted by his family. He missed them, and whether they deserved forgiveness or not, he missed them.
A lot.
So, he headed down to a bar his 'friends' hopefully wouldn't visit.
...
When he arrive at Saints and Sinners, Barry immediately spotted Len.
He didn't care.
He just went over to a bar stool and ordered 10 shots.
"What's someone like you doing in a place like this?" Len asked as he slid into the seat next to Barry. Barry rolled his eyes. "None of your damn business, Snart," he said. He really didn't feel like putting up with a bunch of terrible puns at the moment.
"Well, your obviously trying to make something go away, and I might be able to help with that," Len replied. Barry turned to look at him. "How?" he asked, keeping his face neutral.
"By blowing you," he said shamelessly.
Barry looked at him, and thought about it.
Pros:
He got to get laid.
It was a one-night stand.
He would forget about his family.
He wouldn't have to lie about his powers.
Cons:
It was by a criminal.
It was simple.
Because of this logic, Barry ran Len to his apartment.
...
Len woke up extremely sore.
