[18] My Lover

Ahaha four updates!

Reader POV

I woke up with searing pains in my lower abdomen.

"Ugh..." I sat up and saw it. "Curse whoever decided that periods are to..."

I didn't get to finish my sentence since Langris lifted me off his bed, the sound of running water entering my ears.

"Come on, grumpy. Let's get you cleaned up." He placed me in the bathroom. "Do you mind?"

I undid the buttons and looked over my shoulder where he was turned around. "You can look, you know. It's just me."

"Yes, but I'm respectfully declining." He walked out of the bathroom. "Don't worry about my shirt or the bed, just get yourself what you need. There's pads and tampons in the cabinet."

I gave him a look of shock. "How-"

"My mother explained it all to me," he said. "Let me know if you need pain relievers."

I sank into the water, feeling the pains numb for a bit.

Well thank you, Lady Vaude.

Langris closed the door behind him, making sure I had a towel within my reach when I was done.

He returned moments later with shampoo. "Here, I got this from your room. Also Mother said you might need chocolates. Is that true?"

"Yes, bless her." I reached out and grabbed his hand. "Please stay."

He paused and I could see his ears were red.

"You don't want me to stay."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't know if I could control myself."

My face went red. "Oh...well, I'm on my period. It wouldn't hurt to kiss your lover, eh?"

He sighed. "I suppose you're right."

I was well aware that he was a man, but he was also my boyfriend and someone I could trust.

I felt our lips touch and he pulled away before coming back to kiss me more, his lips going lower each time.

I tilted my neck as he leaned over and pressed kisses there.

He found a sweet spot and pressed multiple kisses there before pulling away to my displeasure.

"It would be inappropriate if I took you right now,"
he said. "Seeing as we aren't married, much less engaged."

I was about to speak when he shushed me.

"But I'll change that soon, love." He left the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

I submerged myself into the water, my face so red.

What does he mean by that?!

My face grew more red at the thought of being married to him.

And especially the wedding night!

I slapped my face to stop myself from picturing those thoughts, not wanting to think of that right now.

Oh gods...

I knew he has a great sense of what I'm feeling and I'd rather not have him catch me thinking of such lewd thoughts otherwise I wouldn't hear the end of it.

When I was done, I got dressed and left the bathroom, seeing he was already dressed and had the bloodied sheets resting in cold water.

"Shall we?" He offered me his arm and opened a portal.

At breakfast, everything seemed to return to normal.

Vangeance had a smile on his face when he saw we were together once again.

Even though our elf counterparts were long gone (well Patri exploring the world), he and I still loved each other as brother and sister.

"I take it that you and Langris made up?" He asked me.

I nodded and piled fatty foods onto my plate for breakfast. "Yep!"

"That's wonderful, (y/n)!" He patted my head before not-so secretly exchanging money with Klaus. "See, Klaus? I knew they'd be fine."

"Hmph! I'm still betting on Yuno."

"Don't," I said at the same time as William

"Yuno is a fine person, but he's not meant for me,"
I said in the kindest way possible.

I left the two men to talk, heading to my table where I was cornered by Mimosa and Rosseau.

"My my, someone's got an appetite," Rosseau snickered with Mimosa. "Don't tell me you engaged in activities last night?"

She dodged Langris throwing a croissant at her, glaring.

"Don't ask such questions!"

"No! We didn't!"

The pair snickered again but didn't question it.

Langris glared at them with annoyance. "Since you two clearly aren't busy with duties, there is a stack of papers on my desk. See that they are arranged alphabetically by magic required, the class, and of course don't forget to look at all the side notes. When you're done with that, I believe the curtains by the main staircase need to be beated and mended. Then when you complete that-"

I placed my hand on his, telling him to calm down silently.

He took a deep breath and squeezed my hand gently. "When you're finished with that, see to it that you rest."

The pair nodded and silently shot me looks of gratitude since we all knew the vice captain could be very...insistent that people wouldn't step out of line.

Hence why poor Klaus was given the entire storage closet to organize old declassified missions and write reflection papers on all to "gain knowledge of the strategies" used to get the job done.

And Langris wanted it all handwritten neatly.

Needless to say, Klaus could barely manage to use his steel magic the next day since his hands really hurt.

But that happened two days ago when we were still not speaking normally.

People passed us and started smiling, glad to see I was back and able to keep him in check since he really could be sadistic at times and relish in other people's misery much to my dislike.

But they knew to still be in check since that was the way the Golden Dawn worked.

If someone was out of line, it would reflect badly on everyone.

"Hm..." Langris rested his face in his palm as I wolfed down my food.

"What?" I stopped mid-way of eating a chocolate-filled croissant.

"Nothing, just admiring the view."

I raised an eyebrow. "Shut it, loverboy."

"I'm just being honest!"

I stuck my tongue at him and continued to eat my breakfast, well aware that the rest of the members including the captain were all watching with awe that someone could actually tame the somewhat feral vice captain.

"They're so cute," I heard Alicia whisper to David who nodded in agreement.

"I ain't never seen two pretty people, yet here we are," he whispered back.

I looked around for Yuno and saw him standing alone, unsure of where to sit as Rosseau and Carmen took the remaining seats where Klaus and Mimosa sat.

"Yuno, over here!" I waved my hand in the air and he came over like a timid rabbit, well aware that Langris was eying him up with a glare.

I kicked Langris under the table, moving over so Yuno could sit down.

I saw Klaus head over to the captain who forked the money back to him.

"The bet is still on, captain."

"Watch it."

Yuno saw how Langris purposely placed his hand on mine. "I see you two are back together."

"Yep," Langris said with a smug look that I glared at him to cut out. "She's truly someone I can't give up. For anyone."

Yuno shrugged and started to ear his food. "Not saying I'm taking her, Vaude."

"Mmhm. Keep dreaming, kid."

"I'm not a kid!"

"Compared to me, you are."

I sweatdropped. "You do realize Yuno's two months older than me, right?"

"I mean by knowledge, dear." He lifted my chin and kissed my lips while Yuno just sat there like Ō-Ō.

"Really?" He frowned. "In front of my tatoes?"

Snickers came from other tables but all quieted down when Langris glared at them.

"Let's go, (n/n)." He grabbed my hand and didn't care we were rudely leaving Yuno behind to eat alone.

We exited and he dragged me to the training grounds, annoyance in his eyes.

"That damn Yuno."

I crossed my arms. "Well, that damn Yuno is going to be training with me for the war. I'd get used to the idea that he'll be around me often."

"Great!" He sang with sarcasm. "If that's the case, I want to be there. Not that I don't trust you because I do, I just don't trust him. He doesn't seem to understand that you're mine."

He stepped forward and backed me up until I was stopped by a wall.

"Maybe I need to let him know in other ways."

His gaze drifted to my neck and he leaned down, kissing it before gently sucking.

"Langris, what the hell-"

"Shh." He licked the spot and went back to marking it, pulling away when he was satisfied. "There we go."

I looked at my reflection through the small mirror I always carried with me, seeing a red mark on my neck.

"Seriously?! How am I supposed to explain this?!"

He opened a portal, smirking back at me. "That, my dear, sounds like a you problem."

"Ugh!" I thew the small mirror at him, but the portal disappeared along with him.

Later in the morning, I decided to go to the Heart Kingdom to ask Princess Lolopechka about her magic since she had water magic and winter magic was a variation of it.

"Would you look at that," Gadja escorted me into the throne room. "Lolopechka! (y/n) is here."

The princess smiled and hugged me tightly. "Hello! What brings you here?"

"I had a question about the origins of my magic," I said. "My father had winter magic, but he wasn't able to use god magic like I am able to."

"Hm....and Queen Anika Korenthan had no magic, am I correct?" The princess thought for a moment. "That is strange."

She paced back and forth, clearly disturbed.

"How is it that a person that came from a long line of winter mages and other attributes through marriages. If only I knew more about Diamond history..."

Gadjah spoke up. "I know a bit, but not much is known since your ancestors were people who were quiet and weren't one to flaunt."

He made a face out of lightning that I recognized from the many lessons on history Langris and I read about in the library or on his or my bed.

"That's the fourth Diamond King; King Marx Liebe Korenthan. That's his full name." Gadjah looked deep in thought. "Princess (y/n), may I see your grimoire?"

I allowed him to and he flipped through the pages with fascination.

"I see you also have God magic from across many religions and races. Very interesting to see. Oh, and this lightning magic. I can help you get stronger with it if you wish,"

"That would be much appreciated."

"And it seems that you really can get rid of someone's magic as well as regain it. How resourceful..." Gadjah looked deep in thought so I just let him mumble.

"Ano, (y/n)?" Lolopechka pointed to my neck with a teasing smile. "What's that?"

I smiled with annoyance clear in my eyes. "A bug."

"A bug?" Lolopechka repeated slowly.

"A bug," I confirmed. "A very big and annoying one."

She laughed a bit. "Ah, I see. I would very much like to meet this...bug."

"Not if I kill him first," I joked.

Lolopechka only smiled and shook her head. "Ah, young love~ That will be an interesting story to tell your kids."

"HUH?! Who said I'm having kids?!"

"I just have a hunch the second you get married to him, you'll be trying for kids."

My face went through various shades of red.

It didn't help when Gadjah found a series of spells in my grimoire that appeared two months about the goddess of love.

"Princess, have you ever used this spell? Aphrodite's Mirror? Or Rose Petals? How about Bow of Cupid?"

"NO!" I was too flustered by the thoughts of Langris and I doing the devil's tango to create a family.

Lolopechka's face turned serious. "As per the Tri-Alliance, I'm sending some of my people to your kingdom. I fear the Dark Triad will strike their sooner rather than later."

"Agreed. It would be an honor to train them," I agreed with her thoughts.

"Wait, I just had an idea," Gadjah said. "You have a spell called Passageway of Cronus, the god of time. If you combine it with spacial magic, you can go back in time and we can figure out the mystery as to why you're blessed by the gods."

"Huh?"

"Let me explain. The Fourth Diamond King was known as the scholar as he drove the way to understanding magic and literary creating spells for the everyday mage. But something that is known is the night his son the fifth Diamond King was born, there was a fire and most of the books he wrote on magic theory were destroyed."

"If we can get you there before the fire, you can learn the knowledge and meet him to ask him any questions so long as you don't tell him you're his descendant."

"That sounds interesting, but the magic required to pull off a spell like that would mean traveling through the space dimension," Lolopechka frowned. "No one knows that area and no one's attempted to go there, or at least in recent years."

"It's advised for spacial mages to steer clear of entering that area called The Void," Gadjah said. "But you actually know someone who has traveled to The Void."

"I do?"

Gadjah nodded. "His name is Lord Ledior Vaude, father of your...lover."
