[10] Union Magic
Hello! Yes, another update since I'm too invested in this story :) This makes it update #3 of today. Love me or something idk
Reader Elf POV (current day)
"Winter Spacial Magic: Redemption of Archangels Souls!"
There was a rumble and a heavy wind came down, blowing the top of the castle to where we saw a bright light coming down as clouds swirled into a hurricane form, ice in the shape of daggers tearing through the air.
I could hear the cries of humans as they were killed just as us elves were killed the day Licht and Tetia got married.
"AHHHHHH!!" The king of Clover held his hands up to shield himself despite having so much magic potential.
I held Ratri's hand tightly, tears coming from my human counterpart.
DON'T DO IT! She was screaming in my mind. You may have been betrayed in the past, but these are the people that can change the world! (y/n)! don't do this!
I pushed her out of my thoughts as Ratri turned my head and locked our lips in a kiss, passion flowing through us.
No One's POV
It was fate that tore the string of fate, the very thing that brought them together.
But it was also fate that brought them back together after centuries apart.
It was truly a paradoxical concept.
Anyone in the room could see the chemistry between the two elves and could only stand frozen in place as we unleashed the spell.
All accross all four kingdoms on the landmass of Cardia, everyone could see it.
A man with bone and spacial magic stared with amazement as the blinding blue light formed clouds all around.
"Oi, Dante?" The man said. "I think that's her."
The High King of the Spade Kingdom stood on the balcony with his brother and sister as they watched with terror and amazement.
"It's beautiful," Vanica whispered. "Holy crap, I might cry!"
Zenon looked at the spell with a critical eye. "A mage loved by mana could do that, but there's something off about that spell...it's reinforced with spacial magic."
"How can you tell?" Dante asked his brother.
"I just do, don't question me. And shave your stupid mustache. It makes you look older than you are."
Vanica twiddled her thumbs. "Do you think we should attack right now? We can benefit from this!'
"No," Dante said to his sister. "We must plan this perfectly."
The trio retreated back inside their castle, already knowing that this spell was the first step to their plan.
Their shadows glowed to reveal three devils who smirked as they witnessed the events.
So this was his game? Megicula and Lucifero thought at the same time. Then we're game, Zagred.
Back in the Clover Kingdom, those in the castle's wing designated for the Kira family could see how Ratri was fueling the spell his lover was casting by transferring his power to her briefly.
A union magic was commonly used by people who have close bonds such as family members, lovers, and close friends.
The magic required the best control and sensing.
If even one thing went wrong, the union magic could strip both users of their powers, so it was strongly advised not to use the magic.
But as a race loved by mana, the elves had the advantage over the humans.
The castle was covered in a thick sheet of ice that even someone with no magic and just a weapon couldn't break through as it was actual ice.
"Are you ready?" Ratri asked his fated lover who broke the kiss, staring at the humans with malice.
Anyone in the area could see how much they were in pain from their past lives.
How they were denied the chance to ever realizing their dreams at starting a family in a new world where humans and elves could live peacefully.
"Holy shit..." Yami Sukehiro opened his blade, looking up at the spell that was crashing down. "Just how much pain did you two lovebirds go through?!"
The female elf glared at the dark magic user, staring at him with the deepest of hatred. "Your kind destroyed everything we lived for! Have you no shame?! Let the blade of justice show you a true paradise! One where humans no longer exist!"
Reader Human POV
I watched my elf counterpart unleash the spell, screaming at her to stop it.
I was in chains in a room where I could see a screen-like thing that displayed what my counterpart was seeing.
"(Y/N)!!" I screamed. "DON'T DO IT! THESE PEOPLE ARE INNOCENT! PLEASE STOP IT!"
There are no exceptions, host. I am sorry, but this crime the humans pulled long ago has gone unpunished long enough.
"I KNOW, BUT THAT WAS THEM! WE'VE CHANGED! (Y/N)! DON'T DO THIS! PLEASE!!!"
I am sorry, human counterpart.
You and William Vangeance are by far some of the noblest humans I have seen, aside from Lemiel and a few others.
But the crime fits the punishment.
Had it not been for your kind, Ratri and I could've realized our dreams!
"YOU CAN STILL DO ALL THINGS YOU WANT TO! BUT YOU CAN'T KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE! YOU SAID IT YOURSELF! WHAT THE HUMANS DID BEFORE IS DISGUSTING! BUT THEY'RE DEAD! DEAD!"
Shut your mouth, human!
Before I kill your soul forever and take over this body permenantly!
I could only watch with tears as I fought with all my might to push her back into the chains.
A vision of my mother appeared before me and she was holding hands with my father.
"(y/n)," she said. "You can do it. Remember the four leaves and they will guide you out."
The four leaves of a clover are hope, faith, love, and luck.
I focused all my strength and managed to break the chains, pushing my elf counterpart in the deepest pits of my mind, knowing fully well that I had disrupted the union spell.
"What the-"
I jabbed Ratri posessing Langris's body, smirking at him with blazing (e/c) eyes. "I am sorry, Ratri. But no one posesses my Langris without being knocked out."
I looked up and focused my sights on stopping the spell just as it grazed the castle, shattering it to bricks.
"Ah, shit." I felt my spark begin to weaken drastially, knowing that I had disturbed the spell.
Now I pay the cost.
The spell was countered to the floating island where some of the elves were gathering to open the gate to the shadow palace with the magic stones.
But my elf counterpart was struggling, screaming curses at me.
I am sorry, I spoke to her in my mind. But I cannot let you kill thousands of innocent lives.
I reached my arm up to the sky, knowing she pushed all my spacial magic out.
A new page formed in my grimoire and I looked it over, staring at my friends with determination.
"Winter Creation Magic: Ice Depths of the Abyss!"
The spell Ratri and my counterpart casted slammed into the abyss.
I used all my remaining strength to make sure no one got harmed, using my other hand to keep the form of the castle, using creation magic to keep the castle together.
"NNgh!" I moaned in pain, blood coming from my eyes.
"Holy shit! Girl, don't do it!" Jack warned me. "You'll kill yourself!"
But I ignored him.
I kept the abyss open until the last stream of the huge magic seeped in, then I fell to the ground.
"(Y/N)!" Ratri in the form of Langris pushed Jack away.
As I was falling, I pointed to Finral and unfroze him.
"Save me," I said to him one last time and then I was out.
Finral POV
(y/n) fell to the floor and my brother being posessed by an elf held her closely, glaring at us.
"If you stupid humans hadn't been here, my love wouldn't be like this!" He spat. "It's all your fault! You take everything! But I'm done."
He placed her down on the steps gently, kissing her lips one final time.
"My love, I'm here for you. I will protect you."
I shook my head. "No, brother. It is I who shall protect her from you! Snap out of it, Langris!"
But we were interrupted by a man with who appeared, his eyes blazing with hatred more violent than the most violent of storms.
"How dare you..."
Ratri moved back, his eyes wide. "Patri!?"
Patri stared at him. "Licht is alive. Come, Ratri."
Patri picked up (y/n)'s body and that's when I noticed it.
"Patri, was it?!" I spat. "You're the one who killed the Wizard King! You'll pay for that!"
"Patri, take your sister and go," Ratri said. "I've got this stupid pig. Take her to safety. I'm trusting you."
And then there was just Ratri, Jack, Yami, and I.
"You'll pay for this, punks!" He spat.
It was the showdown.
But not our last.
I managed to knock Ratri out, but something happened when we arrived at the base of the elves.
(y/n) was awake, but she was once more an elf.
"God damn it!"
But something happened.
When I went to attack her, her (e/c) eyes were calm.
"Finral. It's me, (y/n)."
"No shit," I said. "But what the hell...? You were just attacking us!"
She pointed to the sky where I saw a black metorite and green light attacking a golden light. "It's them. Licht and the reincarnated spirit of his son. I knew Yuno was special, but I never imagined that..."
I didn't trust her. "Why did you suddenly change sides?"
She looked back at me and had a sense of peace in her golden aura.
And that's when I understood why my younger brother fell for her.
You've certainly found a heart of gold, Langris.
"Because my brother just informed me of the truth. And so did Licht."
"Your brother...?"
She pointed to the top of the island. "Patri who was impersonating Licht." (y/n) saw the wounds on my body. "Finral...you're hurt."
She used her magic and gently touched my hands, sending her healing magic my way.
I basked in the golden light, feeling a sense of love that I only felt when my mother was alive.
Back when I was a baby.
"Winter Magic: Healing Frost."
Despite it being a frost-based spell, I felt nothing but warmth.
When I was healed up, she looked up with determination.
"Finral, I have a question for you. Where is the Reve? Or you people know her as Dorthy Unsworth."
"Right here, (y/n)-ne!"
We looked up to see the captain of the Coral Peacocks posessed by an elf.
"Ah, I heard from Kivn that you and Ratri are together again! Nice to know! Now, why are you talking to the humans?"
(y/n) moved in front of me, leaping into the sky to speak to her friend.
"Dearest Reve, not all humans are bad."
Reve's eyes changed from a playful manner to one of malice.
"Then you are against us...? That cannot happen. But I can't hurt you. You really are a dear friend and loyal to everyone, old friend." She tsked. "Are you sure you cannot end the life of this stupid human?"
"I am positive," (y/n) said as she summoned a blade. "If it means I have to fight you, then I will."
She sighed with annoyance and gathered a huge bunch of us.
"Dream Magic: Glamour World."
We were transported to her world.
"Here, you cannot fall asleep," (y/n) warned us.
Gray was cursing as was Vanessa.
"Do not worry, I can handle her original version." She smirked and a huge blade appeared. It was baby blue with pink gems at the handle. "So youwant to play, Reve? Then let's play."
"Oh oh! I'm excited to fight you!"
"Then come at me."
Reve launched an attack that (y/n) easily deflected.
"Winter God Magic: Blade of Morpheus."
"Ah, that's right! I forgot you're blessed by the gods! How sad." Reve moved around, smirking.
And in a flash, a bright light disrupted in addition to the world being shattered.
"Winter God Magic: Trident of Posieden!"
A huge wave reinforced with a barricade of ice sliced through the glamour world, bringing us back.
We were out of the glamour world, but (y/n) was staring down at her grimoire that was changing colors.
"What the hell..."
The grimoire floated into the air and a huge beam of light went right through it before dropping it back into her hold.
The cover now had a mark on it.
But it wasn't just any mark.
It was the mark of the gods.
The same mark appeared on (y/n)'s left hand in the same circle pattern with a four leaf clover.
"What....? But wasn't she supposed to lose her magic after breaking the union magic?" I whispered, but no one answered me.
How could they?
This was a phenomenon that no one - no one - had seen before.
(y/n) herself had changed.
Her eyes reflected the might of the gods above, holding a double-bladed staff and she charged towards the shadow palace.
It was beautiful, iridescent particles left in her wake as she soared through the sky like a beacon of hope.
She is our beacon of hope.
