vingt et un
Taking Victoria's idea into consideration, Erica found herself lingering in the woods- ready to back up the read head if she needed any assistance. She didn't want to be there in the first place- she didn't want to be near him doing something that was surely to draw negative attention to herself but she couldn't just leave the girl hanging.
Erica knew that Victoria was capable of protecting herself, so they didn't trust her to.
She was sitting in a tree, high up over on the wolf side of the treaty line, laughing as Vicky made a show of marking her scent. They were setting a ruse, making them believe they were after the human by taking an aim to her home.
They wanted to see how they worked by playing their blindsides against them. The wolves were to remain out of it- they were Erica's play things for the night and Victoria wasn't to touch them.
A howl in the night alerted her to the change of the patrol shift and sending Vicky a glare, Erica make her own trial up and down the line- drawing them to her.
The heavy thumps of their feet grew closer- the steps louder and louder as she played with them. They snapped at her heels as she slowed, letting them get close enough to hurt her because she new they couldn't.
"It's little like déjà vu, isn't it?" she mused- calling out to them over her shoulder. "How we always end up in a chase with me getting away?"
The wolf closest to her growled, paw swiping put and se dodged out of the way- jumping over the treaty line with a smug smile. She jumped into the nearest tree, propelling herself forward from tree to tree.
"Fancy meeting you here," she joked to Victoria, the girl running below her from the Cullen abominations.
Her sister sent her a glare before jumping over the treaty line, taking a chance with the wolves. Erica took that as a chance to drop down, feet hitting Emmett at the back of the head before she landed soundly- moving forward into a sprint.
It was much more dangerous to be on this side, the vampires having to qualms against ripping her apart but the concept was unimportant to her – she enjoyed the adrenaline she felt at being free.
Jasper was the closet to her now, and anger spiked at the sight of him. She skids to a stop- a fist flying towards his face in anger. He easily dodged, moving to grab her from the side but she shot out her leg hitting him in the side.
The others drew in around her- her powers lashing out, sparks of flew out, lashing to their skin, burning them.
She moved for the Texan, the one that fought best and they moved around each other with purpose- dodging and attacking anew.
He caught hold of her shirt, tearing it open around the midsection as she caught his hair, pulling him around until she could grip his throat. Her eyes glowing blue as she willed her abilities- freezing him from the inside, starting with his heart.
Jasper groaned in pain, Alice's cries sounding behind her as she fought to get to her mate though the eyes that froze her skin.
"You're a mistake- a disgrace to the world. I'm going to show you what it is like to die," Erica hissed.
Readying herself to pull off his head, she was grabbed by the shoulder, yank upwards over onto the wolf side. Victoria gripped her hand tightly and dragged her forward despite her disapproval.
She felt something akin to rage when she looked at Jasper- worse even. He was the one that had stolen her brother. She had watched him rip James apart, burning the pieces as though her brother was nothing- being so close to him made her livid.
She felt as though she could have had him- at great cost to herself, obviously- but there was Victoria, ragging her away from enacting her revenge. The redhead was so concerned with survival that she would ruin maybe one of the only chances she had.
Fighting against the tight hold on her wrist, Erica was tackled to the side by a large light brown wolf- the animal snarled down at her and made way for Victoria. She rolled to her stomach, hand shooting out and snapping a bone on the shifters flank- the audible crunch an echo among the trees.
Laughter bubbled from her as she pushed herself up and darted past the creature, catching sight of her sister doing a lateral spin over the wolf she knew as Jacob.
Her fingers flexed, a ball of snow hitting the boy she hated in the snout and she released a gleeful giggle. Holding her hands palmed down- one to the front and one to the back- she layered the ground with ice as she moved, propelling her forward without her having to walk.
Cutting off the wolves with icy trails- the boys occasionally slipping on the trail behind her- was enough to get her to Victoria's side, pining down he large Alpha as she passed him. Keeping a hold on the redhead, Erica launched her to the other side of the water- following after her quickly.
Dodging the Cullen's was easy as they made grabs for her, Alice always closest to getting her, Erica slowed to a stop- hands touching the side of the girl's head, her eyes glared an electric blue. Cold, blue magic left her hands- flowing into the pixies head. Releasing her, Alice dropped.
Angry snarls came from the vampires and Erica darted away, her steps a few feet behind Victoria seemed to drag as she tailed her sister.
"They'll get away!" the blonde vampire yelled- Rosalie with her perfect her still pinned up beautifully despite the situation.
"No, they won't!" Emmett grunted- his body rushing forward and crashing into hers as she jumped to the other side of the treaty line, barely landing on the solid dirt when her body went crashing backwards.
He wrapped his arms around her like a vice, superior strength cracking her skin and she threw her head backwards screaming- a powerful blast of ice shooting out of her. Emmett's body arched, arms seizing and he fell away from her into the water with a snarl.
Erica followed him into the water- the breaks in her skin visible in the moonlight, eyes burning with fury. She could feel her skin knitting together, the breaks mending with a burning cold that froze through her- marking her with frost.
From above her came angry growls and a grey wolf pawed at the ground, spittle falling from his muzzle. His scent overwhelmed her with lust, tempting her to steal him away for herself- instead she gave the vampires on the other side of the border a smug smile as she slipped from the water and to Paul's side.
"Until next time," she promised- fingers tangling in fur.
Hanging around in a meadow on free land was a dangerous affair, but Erica couldn't care less- she had left a trail for him, knowing that he wouldn't resist.
It was relatively easy to pin his character between brief glances and playful banter- he was an angry fellow, someone she knew to be easily tamed by the right person. Despite how much she wanted him for herself, she also wanted him to be happy, to be with some who deserved him in the end throughout it all.
Erica couldn't remember her human life, something which apparently wasn't very common among her kind but she believes that even then she couldn't have been a good person to have ended up as some sort of monster.
The soft trot of feet brought a smile to her face, the boy bursting through the trees at a jog with nothing but a pair of shorts. His hair was tousled and messed, a crooked smile on his face. It was funny how much his attitude had changed since she had seen him a few hours ago.
"Hey," he breathed- eyes taking in her dirty appearance.
"Took you long enough," she hummed, bouncing in his direction- she jumped into his arms, her face nuzzling into his neck and se breathed in the scent of him. "God, you smell delectable."
"And you don't burn my nose," he stated. His hands wrapped under her- hands cupping her behind. "Where's Victoria? What were you guys doing tonight?"
"Ugh, do we really have to talk about this?" she whispered onto his skin, her cold breath giving him shivers. "I'd rather be doing so much more."
Paul grunted, his head falling back but she could still se his nod. Frustrated, she pushed herself away from him with even steps and an emotionless mask.
"This isn't your fight, Paul," she told him. "Don't get involved."
He crossed his arms over his chest, fist clenched and mouth pressed into a tight line. She could see the anger brewing under his skin.
"Don't get involved? How do you expect us not to get involved?" he shouted. "She is wanted by the pack and you're not allowed anywhere near the tribe!"
"Oh Paul, you can't hurt her. I won't stand for it because if you do, I will hunt down every one of you wolves and rip you apart, not leaving behind any magic blood to be passed on," her words dripped with venom. "So please, don't get involved. It's not you that we want."
"Not us? Who do you want?"
She pulled on her hair in irritation, "The wonderful Cullen's. The golden eyed saints that stole my brother from me- my life from me. Vic wants Bella, the sweet girl things Edward deserve to feel what its like to lose your mate; I, on the other hand, had to watch as Jasper crushed him in front of me, burning him while I was too late to stop them."
"Apparently, your brother was crazy though," Paul mumbled.
"I am the same as he is, if not worse- are you telling me that you would not avenge me at my downfall? Would you wallow in pain and feed off the pity of others?" Erica sneered at him
Paul moved towards her with calculated steps, large ands gripping onto her waste tightly. "I would go out of my freaking mind if you died," he whispered to her.
Erica pressed her lips to his sinfully, the taste of him heaven against her tongue- starving her for more. His heat mixed with her cool pleasantly, hisses and moans the only sound in the silence.
"How loud do you thin we have to be for them to hear us?" She groaned into his mouth.
"Let's find out."
