Zephaniah POV

As I woke up as the sunlight seep through the windows. I couldn't even get enough sleep. I was too worried about the mission. What if I fuck up? Arghh I couldn't worry about that now. It already gave me a headache. With all the strength I could muster I stood up from my bed to the dining table and guess who I saw there.

Archie. What a pleasant surprise? I said ironically in my mind. As I made my way to the table. He said

"Good morning Zephaniah"

"Good morning" I said avoiding eye contact with him. The house maids served pancakes this morning but I didn't see any chance of Carson making it to the dinning for breakfast. Not that I cared or anything.

"if you're wondering where my dad is...he was in a haste to go somewhere but he will be back this evening for the mission". Archie said as I try to hide my surprise. Can he read minds or what?

"oh" was all I could say. Lately I couldn't say much when Archie is around. But skip that. After I ate my breakfast in silence without having much to say. I moved to my room straight.

*****( few hours later)

I stayed bored in my room. No phone or a Ezra to disturb and my body isn't in a mood for a book or reading either. I decided to talk a stroll again. Maybe go to the balcony outside or something just outdoors for a minute.

I tip toed out of my room closing my door quietly. With yesterday little exploring I knew places in the house a little. Luckily the house was quiet and no scary Levi to hunt me down. I already got to the living room and the door outside was just meters away from me. I finally breathe out as relief wash over me.

As I reach for the door knob twisting it a little, another luck. It was not locked. I grinned at myself but then I heard Archie on a phone call freezing me in place.

"Yeah my dad just went out for the day" Archie said over the phone. I couldn't care less till I heard a feminine voice over the phone. I decided I could spare some few seconds. It's not like I'm eavesdropping or anything I just happen to be here that's it.

"Wow so can I come over?" the giggling voice said over the phone.

"Not so fast...matilda...got a guest over" he said.

"Oh it must be boring...I can get a flight to LA for a few days and see you"

"I'll love that" he said clearly flirting. I rolled my eyes at this.

"I miss you" she said her voice subtle but sincere.

"I miss you too" he said sadly.

That was when I slipped through the door knob and fell flat on the floor. I was confused was the knob slippery or was my fingers suddenly all sweaty. All I know is after I fell I saw Archie rushing towards me.

"Matlida I'll call you later" he said hasty.

"Archie what...." She said but Archie cut the call short.

And there he was at my side. He lifted me up gripping my waist and I just flinged not that the fall hurt me. I was perfectly fine but his grip on my waist sends hot waves roam my head down to my toes.

"are you okay?" he asked taking me to the sofa.

"yeah I just fell" I answered kind of embarrassed. He went over to the kitchen to get me a glass of water and he handed it over to me. Knowing me I wasn't thirsty but I gulp the water in one shot.

"So what did you hear?" he asked giving me an amused look instead of an angry one.

"who was on the phone?" stupid me asked instead.

"Oh a friend..."he said clearly lying but I just let it slip by.

"Okay sorry I disturbed your call with your friend" I said funny enough apologizing and I hated it.

"Its fine you're more important" he said flashing me a caring smile. He was saying I'm more important than his girlfriend. I think I bummed my head while falling because it kind of hurt.

"umm...so I guess I'll leave you to get back to your call" I said feeling weird with the awkward moment.

"Sure you're okay?" he asked standing up with me closing the gap between us.

"Yeah I'm all good" I said moving away a little cause it felt as if I couldn't breathe.

"okay then I'll let you rest. Take it easy" he said and I just nodded.

As I made my way to my room he stopped me with his masculine voice

"Sneaking isn't you're specialty I guess" . He said and I paused turning trying so hard to give him a strict stare but I know its futile cause he ended smirking at me making my heart beat to take its own wild pace.

I successfully made it to my room without passing out. Shutting the door behind me resting on the door thinking. Why will Archie lie about his girlfriend? Saying she's just a friend. Moving to my bed. i saw as the sky took a orange hue.

Carson and levi are coming back soon and the mission will soon begin. And that's how I drifted off to sleep to take my afternoon nap. Guess I love sleeping after all.
