Untitled Part 2

Chapter 2, Explanations

"Are you going to come back in time to watch the news with me today?" Mrs. Smith, my foster mom, asked me after giving up on her attempt to make eggs.

"There's another update today?" I questioned back after putting the scrambled eggs I made her Mr. Smith and their other foster children on a plate. They had adopted three children after not being able to produce their own children. I was the oldest being legally 17. I am known as Emily Gold, my family was killed when I was 10 years old when the vampires went on a rampage. I have a little brother, who also survived. His name is Bryce.

The reason why I have this fake I.D. is because I can't continue moving around. And being the over 700 years old werewolf that was born in the 13th century doesn't help my case. That is if I want to hide from the Silver Assassins.

Bryce was 9 when 'we' were attacked. Emily Gold was killed in the fire the vampires set off in his town, although it took several years for the government to know it was vampires. Bryce had ran away from the orphanage two months later. He was reported missing; although he was found 6 years later. Although it wasn't only him found. His now 16 year old sister, who was thought dead, was also found. Apparently when Bryce went on a stroll in the forest he was kidnapped by a vampire. The same vampire that killed his parents and kidnapped his sister.

They were found by the Silver Assassins who were raiding the vampire's lair after killing him second before. They were beaten and used as blood sacs by the vampire, luckily not turned due to a special gene rare humans have. The majority of people with this gene eventually join the Silver Assassins.

This gene makes it so humans are unable to change into a vampire, or any other known supernatural creature. It also has the side effect of making your scent irresistible to vampires.

At least that's what I told the government; luckily they believed me.

Bryce was also adopted by the Smith family. Then there was Ashlee. She is currently 15 years old, and obsessed with Silver Assassins.

She is dangerous; if either Bryce or I slip up she won't hesitate to report us.

9 years ago a vampire slipped up, he and some of his clan exposed one of the world's biggest secrets. Vampires, wizards, the fae, elves, werewolves and other types of shifters, and spirits were discovered. The once thought fictional creatures turned out to be very much real.

And very much killable.

The Silver Assassins grew in size, no longer a secret organization. People believe that sense one clan of vampires went on a rampage all super naturals are evil. Although known for killing vampires, Silver Assassins will stop at nothing to kill all werewolves.

Especially if it's a Silver Wolf.

"Yep, the Silver Assassins not only successfully killed another vampire clan; they think they found another Silver Wolf!" Mrs. Smith said excitedly. She waved her hands enthusiastically as she spoke, "They are supposed to be giving out more details in the news today around 8:30a.m."

"What makes you think it isn't another fake?" I looked up at her. I had just finished setting the table.

"Don't get me wrong, it probably is, there was supposedly been over 1000 werewolf and Silver Wolf sighting each just this week." She said it so matter of flatly as if she looked it up this morning; she probably did.

"What about this week?" Mr. Smith asked walking down the narrow staircase case that led into the kitchen from upstairs. Both Ashlee and Bryce were behind him.

"Did you see the news article Mrs. Smith?" Ashlee asked in her usual high voice. My ears practically folded over themselves in an attempt to block out the annoying sound.

"I was just telling Emily about it." Mrs. Smith answered.

"Well Bryce and I have to go to the library to meet a few friends. I'll call you on our way back." I told the two as Mr. Smith sat down.

"You two are not going to eat with us?" Mr. Smith asked in his gruff voice. He had dark brown hair and a broad body, not to mention he had some obvious muscles. His strangely piercing blue eyes stared at me as he raised a single bushy eyebrow.

"We'll eat breakfast with our friends." Bryce answered for me. Bryce had developed some nice muscles himself over the years of training with me and Nelson. I had Nelson teach basic self-defense and everything he knew about magic. Meanwhile I had taught him how to might every type of supernatural and mythical creatures, including dragons.

"Ok, just be back by dinner, we have new neighbors we are going to help move in tomorrow!" Mrs. Smith responded as Ashlee frowned slightly at us.

"We'll see you at dinner then." I answered with a smile as I walked out the front door with Bryce.

"I swear I think they are hanging out with werewolves, and druggies or something!" Ashlee's high pitched voice was hushed as she complained the second we got out the door. Lifting my hand up to signal to Bryce to wait I listened. "Emily growled to herself the other day!"

I lifted a slightly strawberry blond eyebrow at that comment. It's true I had growled at myself because I had smelt a vampire, I had killed him later though. What I found confusing is how she has heard me.

"Bessa Juing," Bryce whispered the Erlin words for "better hearing", wizards are humans who are able to use magic. Bryce, being a wizard, is able to use magic.

"Ashlee, honey, I think you're overreacting." Mrs. Smith said in my defense.

"If you're that worried about you should follow them, are new neighbors, being the Silver Assassins they are, will watch them if you think something supernatural is going on." Mr. Smith reassured her. This made me gulp.

'Why do you think they didn't tell our new neighbors are Silver Assassins?' Bryce's voice echoed in my mind as he looked at me. He was using a mind chat.

"I know... I guess I'll follow them then." Ashlee answered Mr. Smith; I heard her footsteps coming toward the door.

'I have some ideas, none of which are pleasant, although we should run to the library, Ashlee is coming.' I answered Bryce looking at him. He simply nodded and we both started to sprint down the street. A few seconds later I heard a door open as we turned a corner.

I looked around in the library; it was simple with a green rug on the ground and a few couches around it. To the side of that is the check out, then just bookcases among bookcases.

My eyes locked with a person sitting on one of the couches. He looked to be in his middle 20's. He smiled a broad smile that showed off his sharp canines. Hearing Bryce 'tsk' beside me I smiled back. My sharp canines glistened, ready to tear meat apart and taste the blood of my prey.

'Let's get hunting, Alpha.' Nelson told me through the mind-chat. He walked by me and out the library door. Bryce followed him with a slight frown.

'You two are scary when hunting,' It was Bryce's voice that echoed in my mind.

'You should have seen Nelson when I met him. Any way we should be careful, Ashlee is still following us.' I sent my voice back to both Nelson and Bryce as I took lead. I looked around us taking note of the buildings around me. I looked at a poster hanging in one of the windows of a building.

It was a poster of a famous Silver Assassin killing a vampire while winking at the camera man.

I raised an eyebrow at this and shook my head. I spoke with slight venom as I glared at it "I bet many of the Silver Assassins do it for popularity now. It's a shame considering the Silver Assassins used to be such a proud order. I mean you have to have both guts and skill to wipe out the majority of the Silver Wolves, with vampires help or not."

"I agree, although I will rip out the guts of every single descendant of that mutt if it's the last thing I do." Nelson responded as he clenched his teeth as he let out a growl. A Silver Assassin had killed his mate and family right in front of him without any mercy. Nelson was unable to save them due to the rest of the man's squad holding him off. Nelson's mate was unable to protect herself due to being pregnant and their newborn simply didn't know what was going on. Nelson had vowed to kill every single friend and descendant of that man that day. He had also gone wild with grief, killing any creature that came into his territory. He was like that for fifty-eight years, then he met me.

I had taught him how to calm down, although he never truly got over it, nor would he. I personally would be just like him, if not worse, if my mate and family was brutally murdered right in front of me.

We walked on to a trail entering the woods as I heard something that made my ears perk up.

"What are they doing?" I heard Ashlee's high pitched voice whisper annoyingly.

"Ashlee is behind us," I thought towards my two pack members. Even if he wasn't a werewolf or Silver Wolf, I still counted Bryce as a pack member.

"I'll distract her so you two can shift." Bryce responded, this made Nelson and I only nod our heads.

"Shoot! I forgot my phone at home! I'll be there in a few minutes guys, I left my phone at the library." Bryce said to us as he turned around and sprinted down the trail.

"Ok we'll see you there!" I yelled back to him cupping my hands over my mouth to make it look like I was making sure he heard me.

"Stay safe Bryce," Nelson yelled from next to me, it was so casual it almost sounded like he was worried.

"Come on, he'll be fine." I said turning back around continuing to head down the trail as we took a turn we jumped behind separate trees.

My bones snapped as I heard Bryce's voice not too far away, a little too close for comfort, "Ashlee? What are you doing here?"

"Bryce! What are you doing here?" Ashlee's slightly panicked voice rang out, avoiding the question, as my bones snapped and reformed some more.

"I was walking to some place with Emily and a friend when I went to get my phone, I forgot it at the library." Bryce's voice was so nonchalant I would be surprised if Ashlee didn't believe him, even though she was following us.

"Oh, well I was umm..." It's no secret Ashlee is terrible at lying, "just going on a walk... in the woods... ya, I was just going on a walk in the woods, that's totally it."

"Ok, see you later Ash." Bryce said his voice getting slightly fainter.

"See you later Bryce!" Ashlee yelled back to him. She whispered her next words so faintly it was hard for even myself to hear, "now where did those two go?"

By now both Nelson and I were in our wolf forms, back from behind the trees. His wolf looked at me ready to run off. His wolf was now 51' inches from feet to shoulder, I am 56' inches from feet to shoulder.

My wolf has piercing golden eyes and a reddish dark chocolate brown under coat and a pure black 2nd coat as my fur. Unlike Nelson I not only had a white chest but my belly and snout was also white. The tip of my right paw is also white.

I stared at him and nodded my head; with that both of us were running through the woods, trees and bushes rushing past us as we searched for our prey.
